Chapter 1446: Section 1447 Power System

“The so-called power system is not merely about the strength manifested externally; it actually encompasses a series of things including knowledge, cognition, spell techniques, future potential, and so forth… even the interpretation of the world you just mentioned is included, as well as the external alchemy equipment belonging to this system.”

When Sanders first spoke about the power system, Angel felt he might somewhat understand, but as Sanders expounded on the power system, Angel became somewhat confused.

“The power system is diverse. It’s like a bookshelf that belongs uniquely to you. What books you put on it determine what kind of category it will become in the end. Some people place books related to music, some place cookbooks, others place books of history…”

“The bookshelf is the framework of the entire system, which is what you can manage; the books you place represent your cognition and the depth and breadth of your knowledge; the category that forms in the end is your system.”

By this point, Angel seemed to vaguely understand what Sanders was trying to convey.

“Knowledge is the soul of this system, the most important element. If we look at the knowledge structure and content, initially, everyone’s power system is different. As your cognition grows, your system will become more and more complete.”

Sanders said, “Theoretically, the closer to the end, the more knowledge people absorb, the more similar their power systems become, differing only in understanding. Some wizards have speculated that when the system reaches the ultimate completeness, it is actually… omniscience and omnipotence.”

Sanders’s explanation was still quite vague, but it contained many conceptual things. If he delved too deeply, it might cause Angel to construct his own power system too similar to his own, losing individuality.

Thus, everything that Sanders had said was with the hope that Angel could grasp it by himself.

Angel’s situation at this moment was indeed as Sanders had envisioned. He listened in confusion but could vaguely understand Sanders’s meaning. In his heart, it was as if a seed was gradually swelling up, radiating golden light and heat, and had been planted in the tender soil of his heart, just waiting for Angel to water it with knowledge so that it could slowly sprout and grow…

“Each person, due to a different power system and cognition, will even have corresponding differences in the way they use the same spell technique… This you have to understand on your own.”

Sanders touched on the topic and stopped there, allowing Angel to ponder on his own.

What he had spoken of was the self-awareness of power, the summarization of one’s knowledge, and also the long road to clear away the future’s mists.

How to construct one’s power system was crucial. And having constructed it didn’t mean the end. In the future, you would have to continuously perfect it, just like the bookshelf Sanders spoke of. Not only do you have to expand the capacity of the bookshelf, but you also need to place more books onto it.

Sanders actually had one more thing he hadn’t said: Only after a wizard has constructed their own power system can they more easily attain enlightenment on the path ahead and step more quickly onto the road of true knowledge.

Angel, having already set half a foot on the path of true knowledge, would find the words to be after the fact, and thus it was better left unsaid.

Moreover, Sanders believed that, with Angel’s sensitivity, once he started to build his own power system, he would understand it himself.

“How to establish your own power system, you can ponder it slowly when you return,” Sanders recalled Angel’s thoughts: “What I’m about to discuss with you now is what you need to do after becoming an official wizard.”

Angel gathered his thoughts and looked at Sanders earnestly.

In the time that followed, Sanders began to talk about some things an official wizard needed to know.

This included system construction, the opening of exile spaces, the deployment of plane corridors, the cultivation of elemental life… all the way to the methods by which the Nightmare Realm truly became effective only after becoming an official wizard.

Angel’s eyes shone brightly as he listened.

The unknown transcendent domains always seem so fascinating, filled with curiosity and expectation.

Angel felt as if he had returned to many years ago when he was in the carriage driving from Pat Manor to the Vish harbour, with whistling cold wind and flying snow outside, a heater burning in the center of the carriage, beside him were the siblings Allen and Irene, and across them was Moro. Moro was speaking with a timeworn voice, narrating the various aspects of the Wizards’ Realm, including the three main structures of the mystical side, the bloodline side, and the elemental side, as well as the curious spell techniques, the magical witcher organizations, and the world full of hierarchical rules…

Through those words, Angel saw a mysterious world. Although he felt some trepidation towards the unknown, the anticipation in his heart did not fade in the slightest.

Now, Angel was already situated in this mysterious world and had even become a mainstay in the Wizards’ Realm… and in the Southern Domain, he belonged to the top tier of power.

He listened to Sanders speaking of such matters, the things he himself was about to encounter, and still felt his heart race with excitement.

As long as the long journey did not end, this curiosity about the road ahead would be the driving force for every Wizard.

Sanders spoke for almost an entire afternoon before he finally paused.

Seeing Angel’s face still full of eager anticipation, Sanders smiled and said, “That’s enough for today. There are many things you need to digest and experiment with. We can talk about other matters another time.”

While saying this, Sanders gestured in the air, and several thick books floated off a nearby shelf.

Sanders handed the thick books to Angel; they contained supplementary information about the things he had spoken of today, which should be helpful to Angel.

After all this, they discussed some other topics.

Angel also shared the details of the door he had dubbed the “target anchor,” which he had heard about from Frost, explaining its specific effects.

Upon learning that the door only had targeting functionality, Sanders didn’t say much, but joked, “At least it saves the expense of a spatial beacon.”

More than the target anchor, Sanders was actually more curious about the Spell Technique that Angel had created.

He was well aware that Angel had shown no signs of creating a new technique recently, so why had he suddenly created one?

Angel’s response was, “I don’t know, maybe it’s the residual effects of the last creation Magic?”

Even without using the True Knowledge Technique, Sanders could tell that Angel was hiding something. However, he didn’t expose it, since Angel was now an Official Wizard and it was normal for him to have his own secrets.

If he really wanted to know, Sanders thought, he would await until Angel’s realm had completely stabilized and then spar with him; perhaps then he would have his answer. Of course, this was assuming Angel’s creation could be used in battle.

If it was a functional Spell Technique, like Greya’s Creation Magic, then there was no help for it.

After finishing their conversation, Angel asked something he was very eager to know: “Has Lady Greya not come out of seclusion yet?”

They had been at Black Castle for several days now, and there had been a transformative change to the place, including the aboveground structures being demolished. However, aside from Hua Que’s encounter with Popota, their main goal was still not fully achieved.

“Not yet, but I’ve received a message from Isabel before. The energy fluctuations in the ice cave are continuously weakening, so Greya should be coming out of seclusion soon,” replied Sanders.

Angel sighed, hoping that once Greya came out, she would be able to solve Toby’s issue.

“Besides reporting on Greya’s situation, Isabel also had a message for you.” Sanders looked at Angel, “She hopes you’ll visit her once your situation stabilizes.”

Angel nodded; Isabel had already mentioned this when he had just advanced in rank.

Presumably, it was due to the two Infant Spirits, and she probably hoped he could turn the Infant Spirits back into Souls.

Angel had already agreed to Isabel’s request and naturally would not refuse.

They briefly talked about some trivial matters of the chaotic outside world, and then Angel planned to leave. Firstly, he was going to take Mandhela to the Wilderness of Dreams and also check on his brother’s competition progress. Secondly, the White Light Bullets in Samsara Overture had run out, and if he was to help Isabel turn the Infant Spirits back into Souls, he would need to go out and collect some White Light Bullets.

Just as Angel was about to leave the Gravity Garden with Mandhela, who was trapped in an Illusion Technique, Sanders suddenly said, “Oh right, there’s one more thing I’d like to discuss with you.”
