Chapter 1411: Section 1412 Explosion

After Kimberly and Isabella left, only Angel was left alone at the site.

The Witches in the distance were still a bit confused about what had happened, excited to see King Gumman’s daughter trapped behind Angel. But seeing the core combat power of the Black Castle, including Isabella, leaving one after another, they felt a bit uneasy.

However, they couldn’t do anything and could only pray that nothing bad would happen.

…

“The explosion is irreversible, it’s useless, no one can do anything! The entire Black Castle will be destroyed!” King Gumman’s daughter laughed crazily, her expression revealing madness.

“The explosion might indeed be irreversible, but you are underestimating the wisdom of Wizards too much,” Angel replied softly.

King Gumman’s daughter didn’t respond, but her expression clearly showed disdain.

“Just wait and see,” Angel didn’t elaborate on this matter. Although he didn’t know what changes King Gumman’s daughter had undergone over the years, what he could be sure of was that her understanding of Wizards might not be deep enough.

There was silence for a long while.

Suddenly, Angel asked, “Is it worth it?”

Angel’s voice was very soft, causing King Gumman’s daughter to be taken aback, and her emotions calmed down slightly.

“Worth it, why wouldn’t it be?” King Gumman’s daughter regained her icy demeanor, her eyes filled with bitterness, “I only regret not having completely killed them all. Those witches deserve it, they need to pay the price for what they have done.”

After cursing, King Gumman’s daughter looked at Angel, “It was you who helped me free myself, you saw what they did, do you think they can be forgiven?”

After asking, King Gumman’s daughter suddenly revealed a mocking smile, “I almost forgot, you’re the leader in killing the undead this time, you’re on their side.”

Angel actually agreed with the first half of what King Gumman’s daughter said, he also despised the actions of the Black Castle and sympathized with the women killed in the Blood Bath Ceremony, but it was difficult for him to side with the undead.

Nevertheless, Angel didn’t intend to explain his thoughts, because King Gumman’s daughter’s current condition was more like that of a paranoid, the Negative Energy inside her continued to affect her, making it impossible for her to listen to anyone else at this moment.

His conversation with King Gumman’s daughter was not meant to persuade her, but purely to understand some situations through dialogue.

“Can you now tell me about the question I asked you before?” Angel said.

King Gumman’s daughter didn’t answer, and Angel wasn’t annoyed, “Then you don’t plan to tell me your name either?”

King Gumman’s daughter remained silent.

“Well then, it seems I have no choice but to turn you back into a Soul,” Angel sighed.

This conversation again came to no fruition. The Semi-Undead was, after all, leaning towards the undead side, trying to pry any information from her mouth was just too difficult.

Angel shook his head and no longer bothered with King Gumman’s daughter.

Time passed again, and the explosion that King Gumman’s daughter had been looking forward to still hadn’t occurred, which made her expression grow even more sullen.

Just when Angel thought that the explosion had been stopped, the ground suddenly burst forth with a column of white light that shot up into the sky.

This column of white light was actually quite far from where Angel was standing, but it encompassed the layer of signature castle architecture on the surface of the Black Castle!

When the white light appeared, King Gumman’s daughter’s eyes suddenly lit up.

“I still won!”

No sooner had she spoken than a terrifying explosion resounded!

The fierce white light transformed into thousands of strands of light, shooting off in all directions. The unstable energy blasted the surroundings so powerfully that even the air seemed to thin.

Angel felt a boom in his ears as he watched the white light turn the surface buildings of the Black Castle into ash, with countless rocks and debris being ejected outward.

The energy of the explosion even overflowed from the top of the mountain, spreading all around. Angel had to retreat nearly a kilometer away with King Gumman’s daughter.

The explosion lasted for a full half-minute.

It was even longer than the explosion of the giant mountain creature before.

When the white light finally began to fade, Angel immediately looked forward; the entire surface of the Black Castle had vanished from sight, leaving only a few broken walls and pillars, the formerly gloomy castle had turned into ruins.

The ground revealed a vast pit, still emitting thick smoke, which consisted of the large amount of fragmented rocks and earth that the explosion catapulted into the sky, turned into Dust by the force of the blast now slowly falling from the sky.

The surrounding Witches, seeing this scene, all changed their expressions, “What happened?” “How is this possible!” “Where is Lady Isabella?”

The voices that came through were filled with disbelief, urgency, sadness, and even despair.

The biggest question of all the Witches was, “Why did it suddenly explode and with such terrifying force?”

Angel could have answered, but no one asked him. However, while Angel was also surprised that it exploded, he felt that the intensity of the explosion was not as strong as he had imagined.

The gloomy expression on King Gumman’s daughter was a telltale sign.

“Why did only one building explode? There was only one blast? What about the others?” The expressions of King Gumman’s daughter and the other witches were similarly incredulous, yet the reasons for their disbelief varied.

Below the Corpse Forest, there were three giant undead creatures: a precarious mountain giant even larger than before, a giant serpent that could rear its head and blot out the sky, and the most terrifying of all, Cersebilas!

But after a long wait, they were greeted with only a dud.

At first glance, the effect of the explosion seemed astonishing, even destroying the landmark building of the Black Castle; however, upon closer inspection, it was clear that the range of destruction was much smaller compared to the previous explosion of the precarious mountain giant.

Most importantly, there was only that single blast!

“There must be more, there must be…” King Gumman’s daughter muttered repeatedly, her eyes cracking with tension.

However, the anticipated double or triple blasts never came. Instead, several figures flew out from the huge pit left behind.

It was Sanders and his group who had stayed in the Corpse Forest.

At first sight, they appeared unharmed. But upon closer inspection, apart from Sanders, the complexions of the others were all quite poor.

Isabella’s pallor was especially stark, and her entire body was covered in blood.

Her once black skirt was now a deep crimson.

After landing, Kimberly supported Isabella while Isabel promptly came forward to treat her. The surrounding witches initially wanted to inquire about what had happened, but they held back due to Isabella’s severe injuries.

“Mentor, what’s the situation now?” Angel immediately inquired after the reconnection of the Mind Ribbon.

Sanders: “We’ve basically resolved it. The explosion did not affect the Soul Realm beneath the Corpse Forest, but these surface structures, alas, there was nothing we could do…”

Following this, Angel began to inquire about the incident, and Sanders did not conceal anything, sharing what had transpired in the Corpse Forest.

When Isabel and the others arrived at the Corpse Forest and learned the specific circumstances, they immediately began discussing solutions.

The initial plan to resolve the self-detonation of the undead composite was to place it in a planar interlayer, where its explosion could be contained without threatening the Black Castle.

However, relocating the undead composite into the planar interlayer in a short time was not easy, and opening a space rift without the aid of a Space Wizard would be highly unstable. If the undead composite exploded within, a potential collapse could turn the Black Castle into a primary target, risking total annihilation by being drawn into the rift.

This plan being unviable, they had to reconceptualize.

Given more time, perhaps they could have devised a perfect solution. But time was of the essence; the undead composite had already entered an irreversible pre-detonation state, making it difficult to find a satisfactory method on short notice.

In the end, they opted to place the undead composite into an Exile Space.

Exile Spaces are formed by Official Wizards learning the Exile Spell, capable of briefly maintaining a separate spatial dimension. Within the Exile Space, one can dispose of some Transcendent impurities, essentially serving as a garbage dump for the remnants of wizarding experiments.

An Exile Space can also temporarily store objects but requires a continuous supply of Magic Power to sustain its existence, and the amount of Magic Power needed to maintain such a space is astonishing. Hence it is far inferior to Spatial Artifacts.

In fact, Exile Spaces aren’t considered stable. The reason they still chose to put the undead composite into an Exile Space was that the space’s stability could be controlled by the amount of Magic Power the wizard was willing to expend.

But this plan also carried tremendous risk.

The wizards in the Corpse Forest each possessed an Exile Space, which raised the question of who should take on this responsibility.

Although Sanders was powerful, he was the first to be ruled out. The people of the Black Castle would actually prefer this outsider to take the risk, but they also understood that was unlikely, so no one mentioned it.

Isabel was a special case, as the body she was using was not her original one, hence she was also ruled out.

That left Kimberly and Isabella.

In the end, Isabella voluntarily took on the obligation. After all, she was the origin of the chaos in the Black Castle; it was her devised Blood Bath Ceremony that had turned it into a hub for the undead.

So, Isabella assumed this duty.

But she alone found it very difficult to maintain the stability of the Exile Space, so Isabel and Kimberly also contributed Magic Power to assist her in stabilizing the Exile Space.

With the help of others, Isabella managed to exile both the precarious mountain giant and Cersebilas.

However, the explosions of these two undead composites were terrifying, particularly Cersebilas. Despite the support from Kimberly and Isabel, Isabella’s Exile Space was blown apart completely.

As a result, Isabella was severely injured by the Spell Backlash and ended up in her current state.

Despite her outward appearance seeming maintainable, internally, she was utterly devastated. Perhaps not even a century of Restoration would suffice to heal her.

The explosion of the remaining giant serpent was unavoidable, and there was no time to exile it.

Isabel made an immediate decision to let the serpent explode, with everyone else exerting their full strength to suppress the magnitude of the blast, in an attempt to protect the Soul Realm from danger.
