Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 1424: Section 1425 The Effect of Cardamom Wind

But when Sanders examined Angel’s interior, his expression suddenly became somewhat peculiar.

There was no sign of uncontrolled energy within Angel, but rather a momentum that kept soaring… Although Sanders could not see the condition of Angel’s Spirit Sea, he could be certain that at this moment, Angel’s Spirit Sea must be expanding vigorously.

This escalation of momentum originated from the Spirit Sea.

Moreover, it was not just the Spirit Sea—his Mind Space was probably undergoing drastic changes as well.

Because Sanders could clearly sense that the amount of Primordial Magic being inhaled and exhaled around them had suddenly increased, and it was definitely not an amount an Apprentice could achieve.

This was clearly a sign of breakthrough!

Sanders, smelling the lingering scent of coumarin in the air, showed a look of realization in his eyes. After he had returned to his room earlier, he noticed that his Magical Core felt slightly bloated. After a bit of cultivation, growth was visible. This confirmed Kimberly’s words that coumarin could strengthen the Magical Core.

If Sanders’s level could increase, then for Angel, it would be even more significant.

Furthermore, Angel had been in the hall for such a long time, exposed to the coumarin for longer; thus, his Magical Core’s explosive growth was probably extraordinary.

Originally, when Angel caused a strange sign in the Whisker Sea and formed his first Witchcraft Slot, his strength had already reached the peak barrier, and he could choose to break through at any time.

Now, with the influence of coumarin, he had reached the critical point of breakthrough!

Breaking through to become an Official Wizard was the most important threshold in any Apprentice’s life.

Previously, Sanders had instructed Angel to prepare for the breakthrough, but he had not expected that a mere coumarin would precipitate the signs of breakthrough!

…

Angel felt as if he was being alternately dipped into cold water and then hot water, his brain like stirred paste.

He didn’t know how long this condition lasted until a strange fluctuation entered his Spirit Sea.

This wave was like a mountain breeze that scattered the mist, or the sunshine that pierced through the clouds, casting warm patches of light in his previously murky and chaotic brain.

Angel felt his mind gradually becoming calmer.

At the same time, he heard Sanders’s voice: “Are you awake? Your Spirit Sea is surging; to keep your mind clear, I can only temporarily maintain it with a Sheepskin Scroll.”

“Also, have you prepared the Agility Potion?”

Angel was still somewhat confused, his gaze blurry as he looked up to see Sanders standing beside him, his wand touching an ancient Sheepskin Scroll. A faint fluctuation emanated from the scroll, constantly invading Angel’s Spirit Sea.

It was this fluctuation that gave Angel’s muddled thoughts a glimpse of brightness.

Seeing Angel still observing his surroundings in a daze, Sanders spoke again, “If you plan to break through now, snap out of it.”

Sanders’s voice was calm, but when Angel clearly heard his words, he was shocked.

Breakthrough? What breakthrough?!

Angel’s thoughts sharpened, and he could not help but turn his attention to his Mind Space. He had felt that there was a problem with his Spirit Sea, which in turn seemed to cause a slight anomaly in his Mind Space. Now, focusing on the Mind Space, Angel was surprised to find that not only was there an anomaly, but a drastic change had taken place!

His Mind Space seemed to have come alive, from its original murky darkness into brightness.

It was as if a source of light was scattering in all directions from the void.

Beneath the light, strange patterns lined up in the Mind Space, and in Angel’s “view,” these lines and patterns were clearly visible—he was familiar with them, as they were the Axis of Myriad Manifestations.

However, it was the first time the Axis was transitioning from a hidden state to a visible one.

It was not just the Mind Space that “brightened”; the Magical Core linking the Psychic Model was also changing.

Like a balloon being inflated, the Magical Core kept expanding.

And this expansion was accelerating visibly!

If it was not stopped, there would only be two outcomes for the Magical Core: either it would reach its endurance limit, burst, and dissipate completely; or it would undergo a qualitative change and form a new Magical Core!

And this step of qualitative change signified: Breakthrough!

Sanders was right, it was indeed a breakthrough!

And it had already reached the critical value of breakthrough!

Upon feeling the changes in his Magical Core, Angel recalled not long ago, before Frost left, he had mysteriously said, “In a little while, you’ll have other things to worry about.”

At the time, Angel did not know what “other things” meant, but now, the answer was self-evident.

It must be about the breakthrough.

Angel pieced together many things and realized that the Mutation of the Magical Core must be inseparably connected to the Whisker Sea.

Perhaps Frost saw that Angel had reached a barrier and took the opportunity to offer Whisker Sea to give Angel a helping hand. In his level of power, the leap from Apprentice to Official Wizard was a minor matter, not worth mentioning, so he acted casually.

But from Angel’s perspective, even though he was planning to break through soon, he had not anticipated doing so in such a rush!

“The Sheepskin Scroll is about to give way; I’ll ask you once more, have you prepared the Agility Potion?” Sanders’ voice reached Angel’s ears, “If it’s not ready, then give up this breakthrough.”

Giving up a breakthrough was actually quite simple: dispelling the Magic Power in the Magical Core and then cutting off the spiritual tentacles to restore calm to the Spirit Sea.

However, if one were to give up now, Sanders thought it would be a pity.

Firstly, a large amount of pure Magic Power had entered the Magical Core, which also naturally expanded due to the influence of the Whisker Sea, presenting a very good opportunity for a breakthrough, increasing the chances of success significantly.

Secondly, the methods for abandoning the breakthrough were almost all intense, and once one chose to give up, it would be difficult to attempt a breakthrough again in the short term. Moreover, for the person breaking through, it would be a considerable blow, and might even become a demon in their heart.

Therefore, in Sanders’ view, since Angel was already at the threshold of breakthrough, it would be an excellent thing to seize this opportunity and succeed in one fell swoop.

Understanding the importance of the breakthrough, Angel forced himself into a state of calm, his thoughts whirring quickly: “I’ve prepared the Agility Potion, but I couldn’t buy the Ancient Silver Flower necessary for the breakthrough.”

The Ancient Silver Flower was used when the Magical Core transformed into the Magic Vortex; at that time, a large amount of chaotic Magic Power would fill the Mind Space, affecting the Magic Vortex. If one had the Ancient Silver Flower, it could repel the disordered Magic Power at the location of the Magic Vortex, maintaining its form and avoiding interference.

It was a step most Apprentices would prepare for when advancing to an Official Wizard—to guarantee a flawless breakthrough.

Because the transformation of the Magical Core into the Magic Vortex was the core of the breakthrough, one aimed to ensure nothing would go wrong.

Sanders frowned: “For other wizards, the Ancient Silver Flower is indeed indispensable. But you practice the Guiding Method, which is considered the strongest in the Southern Domain; it enhances your sensitivity to changes in the Mind Space significantly. As soon as chaotic magic power appears, as long as you rectify it in time, you should not need the Ancient Silver Flower. Even if the Magic Vortex is affected to some extent, overall, there won’t be much change.”

Moreover, during the process of becoming an Official Wizard, it’s best to use as little external force as possible, especially during the most critical stages. This will allow you to reach a higher potential in the future.

After all, the Ancient Silver Flower is involved in the crucial stage of transforming the Magical Core into the Magic Vortex; avoiding its use is naturally ideal.

When Sanders broke through to become an Official Wizard, he only used potions and auxiliary materials during the early, less important stages, and he persevered through the critical moments without them. He did not use the Ancient Silver Flower either.

Sanders’ intent was very clear: if possible, it’s best not to use the Ancient Silver Flower.

Sanders’ gaze returned to Angel: “Is there anything else you lack?”

Angel fell silent; in fact, he was missing a bottle of the enhanced White Orchid Potion.

The enhanced White Orchid Potion, known as the White Orchid Potion, has a certain chance of breaking through barriers; whereas the enhanced White Orchid Potion also affects the great barriers, that is, it can increase the success rate of becoming an Official Wizard.

This was an essential step for most wizards.

But Angel understood if he admitted to lacking a bottle of the enhanced White Orchid Potion, Sanders’ response would certainly be a cold sneer.

Official Wizards who break through using the enhanced White Orchid Potion essentially forfeit any potential for advancement. Forget stepping onto the path of True Knowledge; even progressing further becomes very difficult.

However, not using it didn’t mean not preparing it.

Many wizards didn’t plan to use the enhanced White Orchid Potion during their breakthrough, but they still prepared it. Because if problems arose during the breakthrough, at least the enhanced White Orchid Potion could give them a hand. Therefore, preparing the enhanced White Orchid Potion was for that just-in-case scenario.

In the end, Angel said nothing; his goal had never been to stop at being an average wizard. If he truly used the enhanced White Orchid Potion to break through, his future would be no different from everyone else’s. It was better not to survive in mediocrity.

Now that the arrow was on the string, he had only the belief to press onward without retreat.

The conviction to face even destruction without fear!

“Nothing else,” Angel declared solemnly.

Sanders looked deeply into Angel’s eyes: “Since that’s the case, prepare to begin then; I will watch over you.”

“Remember, the Guiding Method you practice is the strongest, your timing for the breakthrough is also the best; this is not the end, it’s just a beginning.”

Angel had met and even exceeded the three essentials of breakthrough: body, soul, and energy.

Even though the breakthrough seemed rushed, Sanders actually felt it was just right.

Angel’s preparations were actually very adequate; without external pressure, it’s possible he would have fallen into an anxious cycle, believing he was prepared but always worrying that he wasn’t perfect enough, thus engaging in more time-wasting but unnecessary actions.

Now, this move has been made.

It not only brought Angel out of his anxious cycle but also enhanced his Magical Core with the Whisker Sea, undoubtedly presenting the best opportunity.
