Chapter 1402: Section 1403: The Giant of Perilous Mountain

Isabel, “That Origin of Chaos seems to have many unknown tactics at its disposal, we must not take it lightly.”

Sanders, “Indeed. However, the first issue we need to resolve are the undead aggregates from before.”

The focus of today’s operation is Angel, and currently, the greatest threat to Angel comes from those undead aggregates; they must be dealt with first.

However, dealing with these disguised undead aggregates won’t be easy.

Because, in the upcoming wave of undead attack, it was all ordinary undead; not a single undead aggregate appeared.

Even if Isabel wanted to search for these disguised undead aggregates, she had no opportunity to do so.

At this moment, Angel had successfully pushed the battlefield close to the vicinity of Black Castle.

They were now less than a kilometer away from the densest area of the undead.

The sight had been shocking when viewed from the foot of the mountain. Now that they were close to the top, the shock was not any less, it was even more soul-stirring.

The number of undead in front had reached a horrifying density. If Angel were to fire a shot here, the undead he would kill could likely coalesce into a White Light Bullet.

From the foothills, one could vaguely make out the silhouette of Black Castle, but here, all that could be seen were hideously terrifying faces, and malice that was so thick it had become tangible!

Not to mention ordinary people, even Transcendents standing nearby would be affected by the bone-chilling madness and become impatient and irascible.

“Should we continue to move forward now?” Angel asked through the Mind Ribbon.

However, before Isabel could respond, the undead made the choice for him. A large mass of undead charged toward them!

Angel had seen footage of locust plagues in Earth documentaries on the Holographic Tablet, and the scene of them swarming everywhere was strikingly similar to what he faced now.

The sky, the ground, and even underground was filled with undead that were unending!

When so many undead screamed in unison, creating a wind of malevolence, even Official Wizards turned pale.

“There are too many undead. Be very cautious, Angel, and if you really can’t hold on, open a portal and come to me,” said Sanders, his voice carrying a rare weight.

Isabel did not understand what “open a portal” meant, but it wasn’t hard to guess Sanders’ intention to provide cover.

“With so many undead, there must be disguised undead aggregates. Your Mentor is right; if anything feels wrong, make sure to notify us immediately,” Isabel said.

Based on her estimation, the Origin of Chaos must have set its sights on Angel, whether for the person himself or for the Samsara Overture. Now that a large number of undead were attacking, the enemy was sure to make a move.

Angel understood this principle as well, and his expression became solemn.

Now the undead were no longer attacking in waves but swarming out of their lairs. If it were like before, the Wizards present might have only had the option to flee against so many undead, but now with Angel and the high cleansing efficiency of the Samsara Overture, plus their own use of Exile Spells, they could barely maintain a balance.

Though they were only maintaining a relative balance against the undead army, they were confident that as more undead were cleared, they had a good chance to continue pushing forward and completely drive the undead away from Black Castle.

Currently, it seemed they were indeed heading in that direction.

However, all of this depended on Angel being able to eliminate the undead in time. If there were issues on Angel’s side, all their efforts would be in vain.

With this thought, Kimberly said to the nearby Wizards, “While clearing the undead, gradually move closer to Angel, prioritizing his protection.”

Everyone followed this command, but just as they were about to converge on Angel, behind the locust-like undead, a large number of bizarre and grotesque undead suddenly appeared.

Simultaneously, an aura of gloom and chaos followed.

“Composite Undead!” Shock flickered in everyone’s eyes. The composite undead that appeared here were at least over a thousand visible to the naked eye, and with layers upon layers of undead, there were only more hidden!

All the composite undead charged aggressively towards the people present.

Once they got close to Angel, the explosion from the merger of so many composite undead would have consequences that not even True Knowledge Wizards could withstand.

Faced with this situation, all they could do was disperse.

With the charge of the composite undead, dazzling white lights erupted everywhere, accompanied by booming explosions, and the originally orderly situation on the field began to descend into chaos.

Although Angel had not yet encountered an attack from the composite undead, the situation on his side was not good.

A series of explosions brought not only chaos but also caused the surrounding energy to fluctuate. In the Inner World where Black Castle resided, the Primordial Magic was incredibly rich and active. Amidst the continuous explosions, the undulating energy waves forced the already unstable Primordial Magic to collapse and then reconfigure.

In the midst of such chaotic energy, Angel’s spirit tentacles were fundamentally incapable of probing outside his body, and consequently, he was also unable to grasp the situation farther away.

Another issue that troubled Angel was that there were problems with the Mind Ribbon.

Sanders’s voice came through in fits and starts; at first, Angel could guess what he was saying, but later on, the Mind Ribbon disintegrated completely, and all mental signals came to a halt at that moment.

Despite the continuous booming noises and the sudden flashes of white light,

it was exceedingly lively.

Yet Angel felt as if he had entered a dark, secluded island surrounded by malevolent undead, intent on dragging him into a terrifying vortex.

All Angel could do now was to continue clearing the undead around him and wait for the energy in the vicinity to return to normal.

However, unexpected events always arise when least anticipated.

“Clang—” A tremendous noise erupted.

At first, Angel thought it was the explosion of a mass of undead, but when he looked up, he realized it was not; the cause of the sound was a being far beyond Angel’s imagination!

A gigantic head slowly rose from the cliff on the other side of the Black Castle.

With the emergence of the head came an alabaster hand veined with blue, clambering directly onto the edge of the cliff.

This scene reminded Angel of a massive magical creature they had seen previously when they came to the Black Castle—the Mountain Giant!

The giant’s vast hand pushed against the ground, and a colossal giant leaped from beneath the cliff, landing in front of everyone.

When Angel saw the face of the giant, he was instantly stunned.

Based on the face, it was indeed a Mountain Giant, but compared to the one they had seen before, this one was at least ten times smaller, likely a Mountain Giant that had not undergone magical transformation and mutation.

But his height was still comparable to that of the Black Castle.

Most importantly, this Mountain Giant was an undead!

Its eyes were pale white, its face twisted into a grimace, its fangs turned upwards, and its whole body enveloped in a shroud of dark energy.

“Where did this undead Mountain Giant come from?!” That was not only Angel’s question but also the perplexing issue for everyone else.

Although the undead Mountain Giant appeared terrifying, it was not yet an insurmountable foe.

Though Angel was still unable to receive messages from the psychic branch at the moment, he could faintly make out a black figure flying toward the Mountain Giant.

From the size of the silhouette, it seemed to be Isabella.

Indeed, as Angel was clearing the surrounding undead, he heard an eerie laugh that pierced through the noise of explosions, unmistakably Isabella’s signature background laughter.

Although Angel did not particularly like Isabella, he believed that with her abilities, she should be able to eliminate this giant undead.

As Angel was thinking this, the Mountain Giant undead suddenly turned around.

Angel’s pupils contracted.

Mounted on the undead’s back was another head! And judging by the size of the head, it was another Mountain Giant undead!

A composite undead?!

A name instantly popped into Angel’s mind: “Undead Colossus!”

When Angel realized this, his heart sank; if such a large undead were to explode, the entire mountaintop might be leveled!

And Angel was not the only one to think of this.

The wizards of the Black Castle also took notice, and they were even more afraid than Angel of the Mountain Giant undead exploding here, for this was the lair of the Black Castle. Should it be destroyed, the consequences would be unimaginable.

Isabella, originally prepared to kill the Mountain Giant, now dared not act rashly due to this turn of events. If her actions led to the Black Castle being reduced to rubble, she would probably become the laughingstock of the entire Wizards’ Realm.

Upon seeing this scene, Kimberly could only abandon what she was doing and shouted to Isabella, “I’ll sustain the energy around it, you lead it away from here!”
