Chapter 1414: Section 1415: Strange Visitors

This incident was actually unrelated to Princess Gumman; the White Light Bullet passed smoothly through the light shield and hit Princess Gumman’s brow.

As the White Light Bullet penetrated, Princess Gumman also underwent changes at a speed visible to the naked eye.

The dark aura that pervaded around her rapidly dissipated, or rather, was being absorbed by the hole created by the bullet’s impact between her eyebrows.

The black aura backflowed, making the scene look extremely horrifying.

However, at this moment, everyone’s attention was not on her, including Isabel, who was most interested in this soul transmutation, as they were all drawn to another “incident” elsewhere.

This incident originated from above the Black Castle.

Raising their eyes to look, the sky above the Black Castle was still gloomy, with low-hanging dark clouds and lightning threading through. As the incident occurred, a substantial amount of abnormal energy suddenly converged beneath the thick dark clouds, stirring the winds and clouds of the entire area.

A hurricane approached, causing everyone’s clothes to flap loudly, while debris from the ground was lifted into the sky.

Even the dark clouds above were being spun continuously by the hurricane, resembling a cotton candy filled with an electric field or a spinning top. And at the lowest point of these clouds, the “top’s” pointed base, was where the abnormal energy converged.

After a moment of silence, Angel was the first to speak in a sure tone, “It’s spatial energy.”

Isabel was somewhat surprised by how precisely Angel pinpointed the nature of the energy. However, the current situation was quite unusual, and she didn’t delve into thinking, but nodded and said, “Indeed, spatial energy is converging.”

What does the convergence of spatial energy imply?

There are many types of similar situations, but judging from the current context, there are two possibilities. The first is that they are unlucky and have encountered a spatial disaster; this is not impossible, especially within the range of the Black Castle, where two giant undead explosions had just occurred. If these two explosions caused an energy collapse on a level they couldn’t see, it would be like part of a topological chain reaction, potentially leading to a spatial disaster.

The second possibility is that some kind of life form is traveling through space, resulting in the aggregation of spatial energy due to the crossing of distances.

Everyone present wished for neither scenario to happen. In the case of the first, a spatial disaster, the scale of the disaster was unpredictable; it could potentially destroy the Inner World or severely damage the Fairy Tale World. In the second scenario, if a life form comes through space, it is also extremely dangerous. Since it’s impossible to determine whether this life form is friend or foe, and generally, if it’s non-human, the likelihood of it being malevolent is higher.

Most importantly, such a large-scale convergence of spatial energy cannot be compared to an ordinary Plane Corridor. If indeed a life form is coming through, it must be from the Void beyond the Southern Domain!

Life forms that can travel through the Void are generally not to be trifled with.

As everyone stood on guard, a Space Rift suddenly tore open at the location where the spatial energy was converging.

Upon seeing this exceedingly stable Space Rift, everyone understood that the anomaly was not a spatial disaster, but likely a life form coming through.

“Be careful, we should be ready to leave at any moment,” Sanders said softly to Angel.

Angel too understood that the present situation wasn’t looking good. Anyone who dared to descend so brazenly into Black Castle territory and gather such an amount of spatial energy was likely ill-intentioned.

The expressions of everyone turned serious as they waited for the life form behind the rift to appear.

Judging by the size of the rift, it didn’t seem to be a giant creature, possibly a human. But anyone so boldly invading had to be either recklessly bold or utterly fearless. Whether the former or the latter, even if recklessly bold, they would be a recklessly bold entity of great strength.

Everyone’s thoughts raced, but in reality, only a brief moment had passed.

From the convergence of spatial energy to the creation of the rift, it had been less than half a minute. And not a few seconds after the appearance of the rift, a shadow emerged from within.

Everyone’s gaze instantly focused on the shadow.

It was a figure whose face could not be seen, cloaked in a robe etched with dark patterns, towering over two and a half meters, and extraordinarily thin.

This robed figure exuded not a trace of transcendence, yet his ability to cross from the Void into the Southern Domain was not to be underestimated.

“Hmm?” Angel displayed a hint of confusion on his face.

“What is it?” Through the Mind Ribbon, Sanders asked with furrowed eyebrows, “Does it have something to do with you again?”

Angel: “…” What does he mean ‘again’?!

“No, I don’t know him. It’s just that the patterns on his robe seem somewhat familiar.” Angel frowned, sifting through his memories, and eventually in the Alchemy Books he had obtained from Nightmare Abyss City, he found the answer, “It seems to be the insignia of some ancient alchemy sect.”

“An ancient alchemy sect? What are you referring to?”

Angel shook his head; he didn’t know either. He had only seen this pattern in an illustration in the book, which was on a page introducing different alchemy sects. Since the book focused on the Death Alchemy Sect, led by Odoros, it did not contain much description of the other alchemy sects.

Although Angel didn’t know which alchemy sect the pattern represented, his response had provided several useful pieces of information.

It was very likely that the newcomer was a Wizard, and since he was adorned with the insignia of a certain alchemy sect, it meant he was either an Alchemist or someone related to that alchemy sect.

But why he appeared at Black Castle, and what his reasons were, remained unknown.

Time ticked by, second by second.

Although the man in the black robe had shown himself, he didn’t seem to have any intention of attacking Black Castle. Could he really just be a greenhorn?

While everyone was puzzled, the man in the black robe looked around, his gaze lingering on Princess Gumman for a few seconds longer before a voice came from beneath his black hood.

“I’m not involved with your affairs, you don’t need to mind me.”

He spoke the common language of the continent, but his accent was different from the mainstream, with a distinctive personal style. It wasn’t difficult to understand, even carrying an air of elegance.

When the man in the black robe told them not to mind him, it was clear they couldn’t take his word for it. Isabel, now the spiritual leader of Black Castle, looked towards the newcomer, “Who are you? Why have you come to our Black Castle?”

The man in the black robe looked at Isabel and let out a light chuckle, “I had no idea the Southern Domain possessed such a powerful Soul Witch, to achieve the peak of Second Level True Knowledge with a mere fragment of a soul. It seems your true self must be very strong.”

With one sentence, the man in the black robe had pinpointed Isabel’s condition, which made everyone’s expression turn even graver. To see through Isabel’s state, his level must be much higher than hers. Furthermore, his tone was relaxed, and his choice of words gave off a sense of being above the fray. From this, it seemed that the man in the black robe might be not just one level above Isabel.

That was terrifying.

If he was only slightly stronger, he might be a Third Level True Knowledge Wizard, but if he was even higher, he could already be considered a legend!

Everyone’s expression, even Sanders’s, turned serious.

“Is Black Castle a Witcher Organization? Forgive my ignorance, I’m not very familiar with the Southern Domain.” The man in the black robe slowly descended from the sky but did not land, maintaining a safe distance from everyone to signify he meant no harm, “Relax, I’m only here because I received coordinates and decided to check this place out. I didn’t expect to break into your backyard.”

“You’re not from the Southern Domain?” Isabel still did not relax, her gaze scrutinizing.

“Indeed. However, I did visit the Southern Domain, let’s see, it must have been a few years ago? Or perhaps a decade or so? Oh, forgive my lack of sensitivity towards numbers.”

The man in the black robe laughed at his own remark.

Seeing the crowd’s silent stares, he added, “Is my joke not funny?”

Everyone remained silent.

They understood what the man in the black robe meant; how could a wizard be insensitive to numbers? He was clearly being ironic. But, was that a joke? Even if it were, was this the time to laugh?

Despite the awkward atmosphere, the man in the black robe continued to be polite, “Alright, let’s leave the joke aside for now. I have indeed been to the Southern Domain before, and I met a rather interesting wizard during my visit. I vaguely remember he claimed to be King Gumman.”

After saying this, the man in the black robe chuckled again.

The crowd understood that his humor might lie in the words “vaguely” and “seemed,” indicating uncertainty about time.

Leaving the humor aside, they focused on the content of what the man in the black robe had mentioned.

King Gumman? The crowd glanced at each other, then looked at Princess Gumman who was transforming amidst the black mist, thoughtful.

Just moments before, the man in the black robe had also paused for a few seconds when he saw Princess Gumman.

Could it be that he came for her?

Isabel decided to ask directly, “Are you here for her?”

The man in the black robe looked at Isabel, somewhat surprised, “Have you also delved into Divination? I am indeed partly here for her, but as someone with principles, I naturally won’t intervene since she already has a master.”

“Moreover, I just wanted to verify something, and now that I have my answer, it doesn’t matter anymore.”

The man in the black robe’s attitude was straightforward, but it deepened everyone’s suspicions.

What did he mean by that? He had mentioned King Gumman and had come for Princess Gumman, but suddenly he was giving up? Something was clearly amiss.

And what was it that he wanted to verify?

While everyone was perplexed, the man in the black robe’s gaze shifted to Princess Gumman. He suddenly uttered in surprise, “I hadn’t noticed before, but her condition seems very special. What caused this?”

No one replied, but their glances involuntarily turned towards Angel.

The man in the black robe noticed this, and following their gaze, looked over.
