Chapter 1437: Section 1438 Restrictions

Soon, Angel deduced the limitations of the Gate Model from the existing information.

Once Angel used this new Gate Model, the special energy contained within it would reset to zero again.

That is to say, when Angel cast the new Gate Model, if he wished to use it again, he would need to wait for the special energy within the model to diffuse again before it could be used.

Angel did not know how long it would take for the special energy to diffuse and fill up after resetting to zero.

But due to this limitation, it undoubtedly told Angel that this new Gate Model should not be used casually.

Moreover, this limitation on usage was only what Angel could deduce so far.

Beyond this, Angel could feel that there should be some other limiting conditions for the Gate Model, but he was currently unable to deduce what they were. Only when he really used it would these limitations gradually become apparent.

For this reason, although Angel had originally planned to test the new effects of the Gate Model right away, he now decided to temporarily shelve the idea.

After all, no one knew how long it would take for the special energy to diffuse and fill up again. So, testing it rashly now was not a prudent choice.

Returning to the spell technique itself.

Although the new effects of this Gate Model had many restrictions, Angel actually did not feel any regret inside. For any spell technique, or to expand, for any matter, the greater the restrictions it is subjected to, the stronger or more important it must be, hence the need for multiple limitations to balance it out.

Just like some very powerful spell techniques, which basically require auxiliary casting materials to cast. And these casting materials, in fact, also count as a limitation.

With these thoughts, Angel’s attitude towards testing the Gate Model became even more serious.

Moreover, Angel could feel that there were many people around.

In such a situation where he was being watched, it was not appropriate to test new spell techniques.

…

Rustling sounds came from behind, and Angel’s thoughts gradually awoke from immersion.

When he turned around, he saw Frost, wearing a copper gear mask, walking slowly to his side.

Frost did not speak immediately, but instead looked Angel up and down for a long time before he said, “Your breakthrough was within my expectations, but being able to glimpse the path to True Knowledge during it caught me by surprise.”

Images of the path paved with abundant information and knowledge that Angel had seen before flashed through his mind. At that time, he vaguely felt that perhaps this was what they called the path to True Knowledge. Now it seemed that it indeed was so.

Frost continued, “Although I do not like the actions of the Thief of Time, I must admire his insight. Your potential is much higher than I had imagined.”

Although Angel had not yet truly set foot on this path, from Frost’s perspective, in the foreseeable future, Angel would inevitably be able to tread on it with ease.

Frost’s words not only confirmed Angel’s thoughts but also told him something.

His breakthrough was within Frost’s expectations. This meant that Kou Feng and Black Randy Soft Water were probably specially chosen by Frost.

At this moment, Angel was not sure whether he should be thankful.

From the perspective of the results, Frost’s actions were positive, as Angel had successfully advanced. But if one looked at the whole process, neither Kou Feng nor Black Randy Soft Water were key to his advancement. Without Kou Feng, Angel could still have entered the process of the Magic Vortex transformation; although Black Randy Soft Water prevented the energy ball from dispersing, with the Axis of Myriad Manifestations assisting him, capturing the dispersing energy would likely not have been too difficult.

However, from another perspective, for Frost, who was above Legend in rank, advancing to an Official Wizard might just be a trivial matter. So seeing Angel at a barrier, he may have just given him a nudge.

Additionally, though Kou Feng and Black Randy Soft Water were not critical for the advancement, they indeed helped Angel. For instance, Angel could now sense that his Magic Vortex was at least twice as large as that of ordinary Wizards after their breakthrough, which at least saved him several years of cultivation. This was actually a subsequent effect of Kou Feng enlarging the Magical Core before the breakthrough.

Viewed from this angle, Frost was indeed helpful to him.

After thinking for a moment, Angel still formally expressed his thanks to Frost. Although he had some other thoughts in his mind, it was better not to think too much in front of someone of Frost’s level.

In response to Angel’s thanks, Frost merely smiled noncommittally. He glanced at the Space Rift that was manifesting behind him and said to Angel, “You have just broken through and need time to adapt, so I will not say more. However, our earlier conversation is not yet finished, and I hope we can continue it once you have settled down.”

Frost did not inquire about the Gate Anomaly in the Void or intercede in Angel’s Law Creation; instead, he nodded politely to Angel, “Lastly, congratulations on becoming a Wizard. May the truth become your journey.”

As he spoke, Frost’s figure gradually turned into nothingness, dissipating from sight.

At the same time, Sanders and Isabel emerged from the nearby Space Rift.

Angel walked towards Sanders.

Sanders scrutinized Angel carefully, and after a while, he nodded at Angel with a smile, “It seems you have left no regrets for yourself.”

Angel: “Nor have I disappointed the Mentor.”

Sanders smiled, indeed Angel had not disappointed him, but he would not say such things out loud. Projecting one’s hopes onto another would only add pressure to them.

Sanders laughed, and then his gaze slowly moved downwards, settling behind Angel.

Angel looked back in confusion, initially not understanding what Sanders was looking at. However, when he saw the series of deep footprints on the ground, he suddenly realized.

His breakthrough was not just in terms of strength hierarchy. It was also a breakthrough for his physical body, soul, and energy levels.

Such sudden changes in strength could also bring some trouble.

Like right now.

“It seems you’ll need some time to adapt to these changes,” Sanders said.

Angel smiled awkwardly, actually his control over his body was already quite good. It was just that he had been thinking about the Gate Model and let his guard down a bit, causing the series of deep footprints.

However, the adaptation Sanders referred to was not only about the physical body.

As of now, Angel still hadn’t properly contained his own aura and energy. This was also why the apprentices on the Ghost Ship didn’t dare to meet Angel’s gaze.

While Sanders and Angel were conversing, Isabel was also quietly observing Angel.

Upon her return from the Void, the first thing she felt when she saw Angel was a powerful aura, like surges of a torrent rushing towards her.

This aura was a mix of vigor, pressure, and released energy.

It was like a source of heat that couldn’t be concealed, continuously radiating its light and heat.

Although Isabel was well aware that the conspicuous glow was more because Angel had not yet mastered the concept of containing his aura, it also indicated Angel’s current immense strength.

Compared to other wizards who had just advanced, he was not on the same level.

In terms of the sheer density of energy alone, he was even stronger than the old wizard on the Ghost Ship.

Moreover, Isabel was certain that if Angel were to face Isabella now, the outcome probably wouldn’t be as clear-cut as it had been on Silent Hill.

Thinking this, the emotions in Isabel’s eyes became somewhat complicated.

Now that Angel had broken through to become an Official Wizard, and considering that True Knowledge was within reach, Illusion Demon Island’s strength had further increased, and the alliance with Black Castle only added to its value.

However, the emotions between Angel and Isabella seemed to form a chasm between them.

Isabel sighed internally. It looked like she needed to have a talk with Isabella, and hopefully resolve things quickly.

As Isabel was reflecting, on the other side, Sanders had finished discussing the topic of energy containment with Angel. It seemed from Sanders’ tone that he was ready to leave the matter at that.

Isabel had hoped Sanders would talk to Angel about the Law Creation Phenomenon, but Sanders did not touch on the subject.

When speaking of the Law Creation Phenomenon, one was bound to mention Angel’s spellcasting.

While Isabel was curious about what exactly this spell concerning “gates, illusion techniques, and space” was, it was, after all, Angel’s private matter, and she really had no intention of prying.

Yet, having the Law Creation Phenomenon remain outside the Void was not a good sign for the current state of Black Castle.

Isabel had even asked Frost about it, but the latter’s response was very vague, so she could only hope for an answer from Angel.

Seeing that Sanders had no intention of bringing it up, after a moment of contemplation, Isabel took advantage of the pause in their conversation to proactively start asking.

The Law Creation Phenomenon? Angel knew there was a phenomenon related to spellcasting in the outside world, but since he had been fully immersed in the Mind Space, he was unaware of the specifics.

However, speaking of the phenomenon in the Void, Angel remembered something.

The Law Creation Phenomenon, in ancient times, was also referred to by the wizards of the time as the “Gift of Truth.”

The so-called phenomenon was an external representation of a reward from the world’s will.

Back when Angel was in the Whisker Sea, he had received the Gift of Truth once. During that time, Angel entered a wondrous scene where all kinds of ideas for spell techniques, alchemy, and even power applications for the Wilderness of Dreams were drawn out.

Angel truly experienced what it meant to have “inspiration flowing like a fountain.”

It was also because of that Gift of Truth that Angel quickly perfected the ability of Phantom Limb.

This time, the “Gift of Truth” did not present that strange scene, but bestowed something else upon Angel.

If nothing else, it should be the only variable within the Law Creation Phenomenon that Isabel spoke of.
