Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2928 Establishing Relations

”…”

Everyone heard the Emperor of Death speaking to Empress Nadia about marriage.

However, they could only reel back in disbelief.

Did they not even enter his eyes? How could he keep his cool in this precarious situation?

But thinking back on how he faced something like the Anarchic Immortal King Tribulation, they couldnʼt help but wryly smile. Perhaps, they had underestimated him too much?

Davis shot a glance at Panqa and Lanqua before returning his gaze.

”Well, as you can see, my Nadia wants to marry me here along with Everlight. Now, now- thereʼs no need to deny this so soon as I will only ask something like that in the event that I successfully get rid of the aggression the world has on me. Until then, you donʼt need to accommodate me in any form or show me hospitality. You can even fool the world by denouncing me. Iʼm not crazy or overbearing enough to say that you shall all follow me into death. If youʼre cornered, feel free to abandon me but donʼt ever backstab me.”

Davisʼs lips curled as he continued, ”With that said, I will be leaving-”

He gestured towards the side, ”-with my twin beauties, Panqa and Lanqua, no matter the case. Does anyone have a problem with it? Should I ask permission from their parents or guardians?”

”…!”

The ones who displayed shocked expressions were not the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan but his own women, causing Davis to blink.

ʼAlright, they still arenʼt aware...ʼ

Meanwhile, Panqa and Lanqua were also frozen. They had worked up their courage to go relay that they had become their husbandʼs women, but before that could happen, they rushed out, and they were on this scene.

”Why are you leaving?” Patriarch Fenren Jadelight frowned, ”The Starlight Jade Wolf Clan has already made its decision. We welcome you anytime, so feel free to stay as much as you like. Donʼt pay heed to anyone who says otherwise. I will make sure they are punished under the laws of the clan for going against the words of the Patriarch, whether it be a peasant or an Ancestor.”

”…”

Third Ancestor Riyardʼs expression was gloomy, but he said nothing more additional. Since everyone had made their decision, he only remained silent, watching them talk reluctantly.

Hearing the Starlight Jade Wolf Kingʼs words, Davis lightly smiled.

”Brother Fenren, I appreciate the hospitality, but I canʼt allow your clan to fall into danger anymore. I will attract the Fire Phoenix Clan away from here by announcing my return in the Aurora Cloud Gate-”

”You canʼt do that.” The Starlight Jade Wolf King quickly interrupted him, ”They will target the Aurora Cloud Gate, and not even they would survive if the many alliances wage war against them.”

”True.” Davisʼs smile turned wry.

It wasnʼt like he didnʼt expect that, but with seven days lost because he was heavily injured and kidnapped, that important timeframe needed for him to get back up and turn into a menace was lost. Now, he could only think of something else.

”Then what plans do you have?”

”Perhaps, I will announce my return in a few days. As you can see, I have yet to enter the Immortal King Stage, so I may shamelessly want some time at your expense but donʼt worry. Sooner or later, I plan to exile myself and hunt the Fire Phoenix Clan myself so that I wonʼt bring trouble to anyone.”

”My Emperor!” Isabellaʼs expression turned pale as she turned to look at him.

”Davis, you canʼt.” Shirley also stepped forward, grabbing his arm from the side, ”The Aurora Cloud Gate hasnʼt made any decisions about you, meaning that they most likely chose to stand with you.”

”They havenʼt made any decisions about me because Iʼm not there. Even if they do continue to side with me, do you think I will continue to harm them by staying there? Do you think Iʼm going to trouble them and cause severe casualties within their ranks? I can be a bit shameless, but not that shameless...”

”…”

However, Davis was headstrong in his utterance, causing his women to be unable to retort, but they were still incredibly worried. He had just come out of two life-threatening situations, so how could they allow him to face another?

Suddenly, they saw him smile with confidence and pat Shirleyʼs head.

”Donʼt worry. Even if all the alliances want to attack the Aurora Cloud Gate, they must first gather their forces. Thereʼs enough time for me to recover, so thereʼs no need to worry. Also…”

He turned to look at the Starlight Jade Wolf King.

”Brother Fenren, the only reason you still havenʼt entered the Immortal Emperor Stage is that youʼre worried that you will regress to an average Starlight Jade Wolf with remnant noble blood, right?”

Hearing Davisʼs words, everyoneʼs expression couldnʼt help but change.

Indeed. That was what they precisely feared. If their Patriarch lost his kingly status, then his position would become entrenched on shaky grounds. An immortal beast who experienced this change would start to lack in many things like confidence as a result of a direct drop in prowess or continue to cling onto their past glories and quickly die.

It was a tragedy in the life of noble and imperial immortal beasts. The ones who could come out of that state were very few and between, as the latter might find a way to restore their bloodline status, but that was even rarer.

They had naturally checked their Patriarch time and time again and saw that his chances to retain his bloodline status were no more than fifteen to twenty percent, so if he had to break through to the Immortal Emperor Stage and want to retain his King-Tier status, then that would be nothing but a gamble.

”Sigh,” The Starlight Jade Wolf King smiled wryly, ”I am deeply ashamed to say that is indeed the tru-”

Suddenly, he realized something as his gaze fell on Empress Nadia, Empress Isabella, and the other Empress.

”You… why are you asking that?” His teeth clattered.

”Itʼs just as you think it is. So-”

”…!”

”- in the meantime, help me fend off this invasion for a while till I bounce up.”

Davis cast them a mysterious smile, but before they could ask him anything, he took his people and got back into the private room without anyoneʼs permission.

The people in the throne hall were too stunned to even let out a breath of air, making it absolutely silent even after he left.

”Ahaha~”

It wasnʼt until the Starlight Jade Wolf King lightly laughed that everyone came back to themselves.

”Impossible… The Emperor of Death seriously couldnʼt be stating...”

Third Ancestor Riyard shook his head in disbelief, causing the Starlight Jade Wolf King to appear smug.

”What is impossible for my brother? He is a capable man who does what he says. I believe him. Besides, if you still are not convinced and want to capture him, feel free to do so, but at that time, donʼt blame me if the clan falls before it even dies from the invasion.”

”…”

”After all, for someone who came from the lower realm to the First Haven World all by himself, do you really think he would be foolish enough to walk into a palace full of formations without having the plan to make the other party suffer?”

The Starlight Jade Wolf King shook his head, ignoring the Third Ancestorʼs expression, before turning to look towards Davion Jadelight.

”My head strategist, you have my full permission to use the full force and resources of our Starlight Jade Wolf Clan to defend the clan for as long as possible, starting now. I will also personally head to the battlefield, so letʼs see how many battle formations I could slaughter before I die...”

”Patriarch…”

*Bang!~*

”Stop!”

The gates of the throne hall were suddenly thrown open as a crimson-robed man rushed in while the guards chased him, appearing both angry and fearful.

”Interesting… perhaps, Iʼll finally join too…”

”Soaren!”

The Starlight Jade Wolf King became startled as he saw the Golden Crow Clanʼs Patriarch emerge, forcing his way through. It was just his style, but right now, he was astonished to see that the Golden Crow Clanʼs Patriarch had fully settled himself in the Immortal Emperor Beast Stage, brimming with the power of the sun like a deity.

”But before that, I came to meet the soaring, blazing, and dreadful empresses of the Emperor of Death. Where are they?”

”…”

Patriarch Soaren Goldsun asked, but only a hint of a wry smile from all the wolves, causing him to turn perplexed.

Did he miss them?

Turning to look behind him, he saw a crimson-robed, golden-haired woman who was luxuriously adorned with ornaments, revealing a disappointed yet longing gaze in her eyes.
