Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2902 Cultivation Crippled

”Agh…”

Davis lightly groaned. This pain made him feel that he was still alive but also miserable as his entire body was aching, not to mention the throbbing of his soul was severe that he could sense that it had been exhausted beyond compare.

ʼI was probably out cold for many days...ʼ

He imagined, groggily opening his eyes again.

The atmosphere was still clad in darkness. He could see less than before as his gaze was blurry. However, his fears were unfounded as he got back his vision perfectly. It seemed like his eyes werenʼt injured in that gruesome battle.

Except…

ʼThereʼs a few parts missing like my bones and flesh over the limbs, around the waist, chest, head- oh? This is…ʼ

As he checked through his soul sense, his numb body that was senseless also started to regain back its senses. To his surprise, his body was wrapped around in bandages. However, he felt heavy.

Raising his head slightly and looking down, he saw a beautiful face. Her purple eyes glimmered from the candlelight, making him dumbfounded. However, what stunned him wasnʼt her beauty but the relieved expression on her face painted by a wry smile.

”Youʼre finally awake…”

”Yilla Zyrus…”

Davis turned to look to the side and saw a mirror. His entire body was bandaged, including his face that only his eyes and mouth were visible. He seemed like a mummified being, making him speechless before he turned to look at Yilla Zyrus with difficulty, feeling his lower body react even in this goddamn crippled body.

”Why are you naked? My Evelynnʼs going to misunderstand...”

=======

Evelynnʼs third eye twitched.

She saw Yilla Zyrus lie on Davis naked. While they were worried heavily, was he at it with another woman?

She felt it was impossible, but as soon as he saw his bandaged body, her expression went pale.

”Big sister, is something wrong…?”

Seeing her expression change heavily, Natalya held her strongly. She felt that Evelynn shouldnʼt receive too many shocks as a pregnant lady or risk something terrible happening to her.

”He… heʼs fine… but heavily injured…”

Evelynn came back to herself and relayed the news with a soft voice. Her words calmed the others, but discovering that he was heavily injured, they became worried again.

So he was unconscious all this time? Then where could he have hidden himself?

They continued to listen to their big sisterʼs narration.

========

”What else can I do? Your crippled body canʼt take powerful medicines. A weak body and a powerful soul? Your body is bound to collapse from being able to host such a soul in that case, so I could only use mortal ointments that I had a hard time finding and patch you up...”

Yilla Zyrus solemnly pouted. She had done so many things for him in this past week, yet all he could say was that his woman would misunderstand?

Davisʼs gaze shook.

He raised his hand and undid the bandages on his head.

”Hey, wait- Stop it…”

As the bandages came off, he saw that the parts bitten off had somewhat healed but were lacking in color, appearing dark red or had a brownish discoloration, some places even having swelled a bit. Turning his head slightly, he saw that the head that had been bitten off was also missing an entire chuck, with his brain still visible, even appearing to be sticky as he took off the bandages.

”Woah, Iʼm totally disfigured…”

Davisʼs mouth went agape. He felt that if it werenʼt for the scent of medicine, his rotten odor would be prevalent.

”…”

Yilla Zyrus was totally at a loss. Didnʼt he feel despair or any sort of negative emotion other than sounding surprised by his own handsome figure having turned to something any woman would turn her gaze away from?

”So you heated up my body with yours, disallowing it to go cold while sharing your yin energy with me to keep my yang intact…?”

Davis shut his mouth and turned to look at Yilla Zyrus, his eyes squinting, ”Why do this for me?”

Yilla Zyrus stood up from him, revealing her bosoms but hid them with her arm. She looked at him with a solemn gaze.

”I already told you. We have become one, and I donʼt intend to-”

”What?” Looking at his distrusting expression, her lips quivered, ”Is it really so hard for people to believe that a Zyrus Family woman can be loyal? Ah! Iʼm sorry…”

”…” Davis groaned in pain as she touched his chest with emotion but then hurriedly took back her hand.

However, he stretched out his hand and brought her head close to his chest.

”You have my gratitude, Yilla.”

Davis uttered while Yilla Zyrusʼs expression shook while being held by him

An emotion that she had never even thought of being reciprocated was overwhelming her right now, making her lips quiver as her eyes teared up ever so lightly.

”Idiot… I donʼt need your gratitude. Iʼm your woman… What I did was natural… ”

”…”

Davis heard her shuddering voice as she trembled on him ever so lightly as though not to cause him more pain, causing his expression to turn complex.

He still couldnʼt understand why she would go this far for him, even after knowing that he was an Anarchic Divergent. If she handed him over to authorities, whether to the Zyrus Family, Fire Phoenix Clan, or any other alliance for that matter, she would still be treated better than coming under him as of this moment.

He didnʼt remember her like this in Klein Zyrusʼs memories. She was high above, alluring, and exuded a confident aura, yet right now, she was the most adorable he had ever seen in her life, appearing to show her vulnerable side to him.

However, his senses and emotions were still a bit jumbled, feeling like he needed to heal himself first and get back to his women to assure them.

He grabbed hold of her arms, bringing her up to his face level.

”Yilla, as much as I would like to kiss you right now since we already shared a bed, I know that Iʼm absolutely dirty. I-”

*Mhf~*

Abruptly, Yilla pounced and pecked him, causing Davis to be stunned.

”If thatʼs the case, then itʼs fine…” Yilla Zyrus shyly smiled as she looked away, ”Iʼve already kissed you more times than I could think of while you were asleep, encouraging you to wake up...”

”Besides, does it really matter when you kissed your blood into me already? This body of mine had already been deeply stained by you~”

She returned her gaze, her teasing smile giving off alluring vibes that set off alarm bells in Davisʼs lower body. He inwardly grumbled.

”Fine, fine. Youʼre still the same woman I know of. Iʼm relieved.”

”What is that supposed to mean?”

Yilla Zyrus glared while Davis shook his head.

”Where have you brought me?”

”I didnʼt bring you.”

Yilla Zyrus blinked in response, ”Weʼre kidnapped.”

”What…?”

”You didnʼt realize? Weʼre both in an underground cellar.”

”How am I supposed to realize with you on top of me?”

Davis gawked as he turned to look around.

Moving away the curtains with soul force, he saw that he was indeed imprisoned.

”But…” Yilla Zyrusʼs face became a bit sad, ”Iʼm sorry… I wasnʼt able to save your Immortal Vessel. It has completely collapsed.”

”I know.” Davis couldnʼt help but chuckle, ”If it werenʼt for my Immortal Soul Vessel that is still intact, holding my body in place along with your help, Iʼd be a roaming ghost.”

”Despite knowing that, you donʼt seem to be down much.” Yilla Zyrus blinked.

”Thatʼs because I donʼt need to worry over crippling injuries.”

”You… you can-”

Yilla Zyrus suddenly closed her mouth, her pupils dilating.

”…”

Davis wondered if she didnʼt realize that as he appeared taken aback but looking at her eyes that looked towards the cellar bars, he narrowed his brows.

He realized that her reaction was also because of the footsteps that were starting to become clear outside.

He supposed that his kidnapper was here, turning to look when he saw a purple-robed woman appear behind bars, turning to look at him.

”Thatʼs reassuring, hearing that youʼre able to heal yourself. As expected of a True Saint.”

Davisʼs tone was bland, seemingly not surprised at the emergence of the Blazing Thunderlight Sectʼs Founder.

It made her smile behind her crimson veil, ”How did you know that it was me?”
