Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2918  Establishing Contact

”-is a valuable asset to us.”

”Valuable asset…?” Patriarch Fenren Jadelight blinked, causing Isabella to shake her head.

”Ah~ My bad. I meant valuable sister.”

ʼNo… both doesnʼt make sense…ʼ

Patriarch Fenren Jadelight could only remain speechless, wondering how Everlight could be immensely valuable to them, but he decided not to follow with the question as it would be rude.

”In any case, itʼs all good as long as Everlightʼs alive and doing well.” He enunciated and gestured.

The palace ladies served them all kinds of food and refreshments. Although Isabella and the others were not tempted, Nadia sure was, her mouth almost drooling as she saw the assortment of dishes.

At the same time, two of the palace ladies seemingly stayed, appearing to have their heads lowered in front of them while continuing to tremble ever so lightly.

”Oh, you two are...”

Shirley blinked at the two of them. She had seen them together with Davis and even heard from Mingzhi that Davis was considering accepting them as his women, along with another woman called Shea Goldsun. The others also narrowed their gazes at them, appearing to scrutinize them.

”Lanqua Jadelight.”

”Pa-Panqa Jadelight. Weʼre-”

”Weʼre pleased to meet you~”

The prized jewels of the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan bowed their heads, appearing extremely nervous.

They never imagined Mo Tianʼs women were so powerful, even destroying battle formations that allowed Immortal Kings to have prowess at the Immortal Emperor Stage with just their raw prowess. They made it seem so easy that they made heavenly geniuses laughing stocks.

Werenʼt they even stronger than the Celestial Fairies!? At this rate, they imagined that only the Blazing Thunderlight Sectʼs Founder would be comparable to them.

”Not bad.” Isabella lightly smiled, ”Iʼm interested to hear what you two think about our husband, but weʼll talk about it later as we have yet to hear from him after his tribulation.”

”…!?”

Instantly, everyoneʼs expression changed.

What was that supposed to mean?

”Is Mo Tia- uh, the Emperor of Death safe?”

Panqa quickly asked with worry etched on her face.

”Oh, heʼs fine. Just not safe as heʼs obviously going to be hunted down when he shows his face.”

Panqa and Lanqua looked at each other, not knowing how to interpret Isabellaʼs statement.

”On that note, I donʼt understand why you all would be out here as you would experience the same danger, so Iʼm all the more grateful for your presence.”

Renfa Jadelight suddenly spoke from the side before she sounded wry, ”We were cowards who didnʼt go out to protect our own people.”

”That canʼt be.” Isabella shook her head, ”If we were in a power like yours, our higher-ups would also restrict our freedom to go out, even if we were capable of defeating the enemies. The Aurora Cloud Gate doesnʼt restrict us as long as we are capable, so we were able to go out, but you two-”

She shook her head, stating that it was impossible to go out.

The members of the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan couldnʼt help but look at how understanding Isabella was.

Due to the fear of assassination, which was very true for them as their first immortal inheritor had been assassinated, they had not dared venture out.

”Itʼs a pity that we must face each other in the Candidacy. At that time, I hope you can show me some mercy.”

Renfa Jadelight wryly smiled, seeming to admit defeat even before the battle began.

”Ah, stop that. We donʼt even know what the battle format would be like and whether it would end in an instant or go on for many years.”

Isabella lightly giggled, ”So for us to-”

Abruptly, Isabella stopped, not because she stopped to think but because she noticed Nadia shudder. The others also noticed, causing them to narrow their brows.

”Whatʼs wrong?”

They sent a soul transmission to her, but when Nadia sent them back a soul transmission, they jolted out of their seats.

”…!”

Their sudden movements caused the Starlight Jade Wolf King and the others to flinch as they also stood up, wondering what had happened. However, they only saw their eyes light up and eagerly looked at Nadia as though expecting something from her.

Indeed, Nadia had managed to talk with Davis! This meant that he was also close by in the surrounding Prefectures!

They were still in the Central Divide, which meant the most likely place was, as they thought, the Blazing Thunderlight Sect located somewhere in the Bloodcloud Familyʼs Prefecture situated in this current Scarlet Blood Domain!

”Master… I…”

Nadia became emotional, ”Iʼm glad youʼre safe...”

She conveyed her words through their soul link created by the Transitory Beast Taming Pact, deeply craving a reply, and it came again.

”Right. Iʼm glad youʼre safe as well, so I assume the others are also safe. Whatʼs going on outside, Nadia? Is everything fine?”

His voice was gentle and caring, causing Nadia to continuously nod her head while speaking through their link.

”Yes! Yes~ Weʼre fine but-”

She momentarily explained what had gone on during the past seven days, causing Davis to frown.

The Fire Phoenix Clan had invaded the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan?

His expression reeled back in exhaustion. They still havenʼt learned their lesson that going against him would only invite their deaths?

ʼI guess theyʼre thinking the same, that I am courting death...ʼ

Davis shook his head, heaving an annoyed sigh before revealing a proud smile, ”Youʼve all grown stronger than me, huh?”

Hearing that they took down the Fire Phoenix Clanʼs invading forces, he felt proud.

”Master, weʼre being hosted in the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan right now. We know what happened through big sister, so donʼt worry. Weʼll come to save you.”

Nadia eagerly spoke, but Davis instantly frowned.

”No, donʼt come for me.”

”What? Master, why…?”

Nadia squealed, causing Davis to wryly smile.

”Seeing that she hasnʼt even blocked our link with formations, we can assume that she has some traps set for you all or is confident that she could take you all prisoners as well. Donʼt give her more trump cards to blackmail me, got it?”

”But master… Iʼm confident that I can kill her with my ultimate species technique. If I hadnʼt relayed it, big sister wouldnʼt have sent us in the first place.”

Nadia urged. However, it caused Davis to freeze before he gently sighed.

Nadia could not be at the Peak Immortal King Stage. Therefore, he mused that she must be sacrificing an ungodly amount of soul essence for this attack to work, just like how Everlight can also go into a coma if she used her final species technique.

”Foolish woman. What am I going to do if I unwittingly put you all in harmʼs way, and it ends disastrously? In fact, Iʼm staying in a guest palace thatʼs also a prison and healed myself, so do not worry. Obediently stay there or go back home. Besides, that cunning woman might even be listening to us, so whatever you planned could have just been leaked.”

”Ah!? Is that… is that even possible? We are not talking through messaging talismans but-”

”Soul links are also hijackable. However, I doubt she can trace our conversation unless she has invaded my soul, which I donʼt think has happened for some reason but still, that woman is an enigma like Myria. We canʼt be less careful in front of her.”

Davis warned. However, it caused Nadia to turn silent for a few seconds before her voice finally resounded again.

”Master… I think… youʼre praising her too much…”

”…”

Davis blinked. Was he?

”Sheʼs an Anarchic Divergent…”

”…”

Nadiaʼs lips parted, appearing to be dumbfounded before her voice resounded.

”Okay~”

She then informed of the news to Isabella and the others, causing them to rejoice. However, they still looked reluctant to leave just like that, not after knowing where he was and the direction since Nadia could trace him back.

”…!”

Just as they wanted to convince Davis, they saw Nadia suddenly go stiff. She then fell flat with her tiny frame, appearing to have gone limp.

”Nadia… Nadia…!”

Shirley shook Nadia, but there was no response, causing them to panic. The Starlight Jade Wolf King and the others could also only stare, not knowing how to deal with this sudden change.

They couldnʼt be blamed for this, right?

But on the other end, Davis watched the shelter become complete as the mist completely faded away. There were literally no changes to the outline of the shelter, except there was something new at the center where the transparent outline of a wolf emerged.

At a glance, he knew that it was Nadia.

However, it didnʼt have her soul, and neither her aura.

The very sight of its translucent image appearing out of nowhere and exuding a mystical yet ruinous aura shook him.

ʼThe fuck is this…!?ʼ
