Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2901 Resolve To Protect

”No, Mistress Mingzhi is not wrong.”

Yotan responded with a complicated expression on her face, ”The many alliances of the First Haven World have the Aurora Cloud Gateʼs Domain surrounded from the second day. Although theyʼre not entering the Domain or have declared war, their presence is indeed a huge headache for the Aurora Cloud Gate, disallowing external trade routes to work properly and our disciples to be unable to go outside with a peaceful mind, not knowing if a war would begin.”

”They want to kill Legion Master so badly, especially when they heard that no one remembers much about his tribulation other than the information that there were twelve Paragon Magical Beasts. Although no one seems to be able to remember the Paragon Magical Beastsʼ shape or size, the fact that there were twelve alone was terrifying enough to send them clamoring to the Aurora Cloud Gate and demand his death.”

ραпdα- n૦νe|`c,0m Hearing Yotanʼs words, everyone frowned.

Right now, people have come to understand that were even levels to the dangers of an Anarchic Divergent. To have summoned all twelve Paragon Magical Beasts, they were simply afraid that their fates were sealed as they came in contact with his karmic burden.

It was unknown if their tribulations became harder as the populace feared, but some powers from the banquet spread the word that their tribulations had indeed become harder, making it so that they were able to unite with the Fire Phoenix Clanʼs goal of wanting to end the Emperor of Deathʼs life despite the Fire Phoenix Clanʼs wrongs.

The Fire Phoenix Clanʼs defense was that they got their punishment by having their cities destroyed and hundreds and thousands of people dead. Using that as an excuse, they were able to rally the alliances under one banner to execute the Anarchic Divergent of extreme danger to the world.

However, it seemed that the Fire Phoenix Clan was also going through an upheaval as their three inheritors seemed to have rebelled against them, having completely disappeared from the Fire Phoenix Clan. With the heat of wrongs basically pinned on them, the Fire Phoenix Clan was also thrown out from the Phoenix Alliance for a thousand years.

The ladies knew all this because they were keenly paying attention to the outside world while also looking out for their husbandʼs information. Yet, they could never come across his information while there was a blatant silence from his side, making them worried day after day before they could no longer stomach it.

”No one leaves.”

Evelynn suddenly spoke, her expression laden with utter calm.

”If you go, consider yourself divorced from him.”

”Big sister!” Natalya screamed out as she held Evelynnʼs arm.

She sat by Evelynnʼs side, shaking her head and indicating not to use words like that, while the others were shocked beyond compare.

Evelynn pursed her lips and had a hand on her slightly bloated stomach. A layer of warmth flashed passed her cold expression before she returned her gaze to the others.

”Davis… our husband wouldnʼt want any of you to risk your lives to go save him. Even then, I understand all your emotions of wanting to put everything aside and go save him, as I feel the same way. However, as the big sister, I have the duty to protect you all, not even letting you come across danger, or I would fail him.”

”Big sister, we can talk about this-”

”My words are final, but Iʼm unable to stop any of you. If you want to act otherwise, then kill me along with the offspring in my womb.”

”…!”

Shirley spoke up but was quickly interrupted by Evelynn, causing everyone to shudder.

Kill her with her child? Was she crazy!?

However, Evelynn seemed as calm as a ripple-less water body.

”Then perhaps… you can go save him and prove my dead body wrong or die under some vengeful personʼs blade. If you donʼt have that kind of resolve, then donʼt leave. I still believe that he will come back in one piece. However, if he doesnʼt come back, well… take care of our children.”

”…”

Evelynnʼs serene words said without a hint of emotion left everyone speechless. They were unable to retort when she was whitemailing them with her own life, even hinting that she might commit suicide or go out berserk to seek her own death.

They didnʼt doubt her words as she did indeed go berserk last time, contaminating an entire region with poison after she turned into a vengeful fey.

”Big sister, weʼll obey, but that… was going too far.” Shirley addressed with a wry smile on her face.

”No. At times like these, someone has to be the leader for us, and who else is better than our husbandʼs first wife? She has both the status to be respected and the willingness to look after everyone. I trust big sister Evelynn and believe in Davis.”

Surprisingly, everyone turned to look at Mingzhi.

They thought the boldest out of them, who talked back to Davis all the time, would be outraged, but she instead supported Evelynnʼs call.

Even Evelynn seemed to be taken aback, her eyes blinking with doubt.

Mingzhi didnʼt mind their gazes but instead turned to look at Yotan.

”So? Has the Aurora Cloud Gate decided anything?”

”I… I donʼt know.” Yotan appeared unsure, ”Elder Aradiel Furiose said that they would stand by Legion Master, but the pressure from all sides is too heavy. Even the Aurora Cloud Gate canʼt withstand the force of every major alliance present in the First Haven World. At this rate, I think they might have to exile Legion Master at the very least to pacify the alliances outside...”

”…”

Hearing her words, everyone narrowed their brows.

But suddenly, Evelynn shook greatly, causing Natalya to hold her down.

”What happened?”

”I can sense that layer of emptiness has disappeared, replaced with a bond that I can grasp...”

Evelynn turned to look at all of them staring at her, ”He… our husbandʼs back or awake…!”

She uttered with heavy emotions as tears started flooding her eyes.

”…”

Looking at her, everyone couldnʼt help but rejoice but, at the same time, smilingly shook their heads as to how resolved she was in not letting them leave, and she was now turning out to be right.

”Quick, tell us whatʼs going on with him!”

A pair of eyes fluttered open with difficulty but could only see darkness with a layer of light seemingly radiating from a source like a candle flame.

”Where is this…? Iʼm not dead…?”

Davis groggily uttered. However, the next moment, pain flooded his senses, causing him to groan.
