Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2906 Different Convictions

The third immortal inheritor stared at Patriarch Fenren Jadelight without moving his gaze away.

”If you donʼt want to follow my commands, thatʼs fine. I have faith in your abilities to lead the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan to glory, Ancestor Davion Jadelight.”

Hearing the Starlight Jade Wolf Kingʼs words, the elders went stiff.

”Patriarch, no. You canʼt leave us like this…!”

”We need you!”

”Youʼre our King!”

Their voices resounded with emotion, causing Patriarch Fenren Jadelight to be moved. However, he didnʼt say any words, waiting for the third immortal inheritorʼs answer.

He didnʼt lie but indeed had faith in the third immortal inheritorʼs ability.

If the first inheritor acted improperly and spread seeds everywhere, creating many branches while the second inheritor created the main branch, the Jadelight Clan, then the third inheritor united all the branches under one banner and formed the current Starlight Jade Wolf Clan, which was super powerful, managing to hold its own against any one of the powers in the Dragon or Phoenix Alliance at that time until its decline.

As the Patriarch, he knew that Davion Jadelight married into the Jadelight Clan upon inheriting the Starlight Jade Wolf Clanʼs inheritance and began to unite the other clans by taking their Young Mistresses for himself through formal and courteous means, essentially establishing the Jadelight Clan as the main branch without any battles whatsoever.

Not only was he a heavenly genius in cultivation, but he was also said to be a genius in both romance and strategy, causing the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan to flourish in his era.

Moreover, it could also be said that Davion Jadelight was Renfa Jadelightʼs great-grandson-in-law since he married many of her descendants.

Therefore, although the elders all liked to follow him as they had sworn their loyalty to him, he knew Ancestor Davion Jadelight was a better fit than him in running a power.

”I see you have chosen to tread this path despite all odds.” Davion Jadelight lightly sighed.

”Yes! However, I donʼt wish for our clan to be decimated for my sins. If the clan wishes to sever all ties with the Emperor of Death and revoke my status, then I wonʼt hold it against you or anyone else. I, as a Kingly Beast of the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan, will do as I please, and I believe my actions will sooner or later connect to our prosperity!”

”…!”

The elders felt their blood boil with emotion as their Patriarchʼs words resounded and reverberated in their souls.

Who was their King? Their Kingʼs words were absolute, not to mention that he had never made a mistake even in the constant decline of their clan, so why would he make a mistake now!? He was considered a blessing to their parched clan and did indeed keep the clan safe against other powers for the most part, so if such a person was saying that he was convinced that his actions would lead to glory, they wanted to be a part of it as well.

Yet, when they thought back to the horrendous Annihilative Immortal King Tribulation that shook their very souls, they found it steeply hard to make a decision.

”Now, if you can excuse me while you all decide what decision to make, I must at least go save the remnants of the northern garrison. As long as there are those who trust me, I will not forsake them!”

The Starlight Jade Wolf King bellowed with conviction as he turned around and left.

”No need.”

However, Davion Jadelight abruptly uttered, causing Patriarch Fenren Jadelight to frown.

”I have already made arrangements to repel the incoming forces, so rest assured.”

”…?”

Patriarch Fenren Jadelight blinked, ”What…?”

=========

”Hehe~ By this time, their northern defenses should be thoroughly decimated.”

Patriarch Killian Zenflame chuckled ever so lightly, turning to look at the battle map, which was replaced because he had broken one a while ago.

Nonetheless, noticing the natural obstacles, he raised the pieces above the board with his soul force and moved them. His simulation of the battle awed the elders, causing them to nod, thinking that it was no wonder their Patriarch became their Patriarch in the first place.

His skills were genuine. His plan in the banquet was also flawless if it werenʼt for that stupid kirin woman ruining everything by opening her mouth. They felt that it was a pity.

”Deploy our powerful first, second, and third divisions to engage in harassment tactics in the west while the fourth to sixth divisions clear the northern border and proceed with decimating the cities towards the south one by one. If their reinforcements or allies come from the east or south, tell the fourth to sixth divisions to fortify themselves in a city and wait for the seventh to ninth divisions to reinforce them.”

”Yes!”

The elders bellowed with excitement, knowing that they were going to create a stronghold in the enemy territory for further advancement.

There was a total of nine divisions, and each division held three brigades, having enough manpower capable of creating three powerful Soaring Phoenix Retribution Battle Formations.

It was a Peak Immortal King Grade Battle Formation that was capable of allowing Immortal Kings to allow their battle prowess to soar as much as three to seven levels higher, meaning they could become as strong as a Level Three Immortal Emperor as long as the head of the formation was helmed by a Peak Immortal King whose prowess was five levels higher and the those who occupied important nodes in the formation to have Peak Immortal King Stage Cultivations!

The first nine divisions were their strongest force to ever exist, so who could escape from them unless their opponent deployed a force of similar nature?

By the time they reacted, wouldnʼt it be already too late? Their nine divisions would have destroyed half a dozen cities by then!

But at this moment, the sound of footsteps jolted them out of their reverie.

Looking at the command relayer appear before them and kneel, they were full of expectation to hear what had happened.

ραпdα- n૦νe|`c,0m Patriarch Killian Zenflame also smiled, appearing calm and steady as though everything was within his grasp. However, his eyes couldnʼt help but narrow as he saw the command relayer hesitating.

”Speak.”

”Yes!” The command relayer had an anxious expression on his face, ”Our fourth to sixth divisions were thwarted and forced to retreat while the other divisions are also currently in a tough battle!”

”What!?”

”How!?”

The elders looked at him as though they were going to kill him for spreading falsehood, but the command relayer simply gulped down his fears and bellowed out.

”Our scouts have discovered that the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clan has built a secret teleportation formation between the remnant powers of the Central Primesky Alliance, making it so that the Golden Crow Clan and the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clan hot-dropped their armies on our invading army!”

The expressions of the Fire Phoenix Clanʼs elders churned with shock, wondering just how this was possible when they had kept their activities a secret from the very beginning.

However, Patriarch Killian Zenflame remained calm.

”So they knew we were going to invade them without fail. Thatʼs alright. A mere setback wouldnʼt stop their downfall that is set in motion by yours truly.”

He grinned, seemingly confident of his words, when suddenly another piece of news came, which made him frown.

The elder whom they sent as an envoy to stall them was dead. This made him feel some kind of genius strategist was behind this surprising defense of theirs as he knew the Starlight Jade Wolf King was a natural leader who reacts and bolts through with will and power rather than a strategist who makes preemptive moves.

At the same time, in another location, a golden-robed beauty sat with many of her sisters in a hall. There also seemed to be elders present in the scene.

*Creak!~*

The gates to the huge hall opened, and there came in walking a few individuals whose prowess and stature were more remarkable than the others.

They cupped their hands, appearing courteous.

”Dragon Queen Isabella, please accept our apologies for the appalling happenings in the banquet hosted by the Fire Phoenix Clan and us. It was our fault. We failed to check the other partyʼs Blood Soul Contracts thoroughly since they would also be representative of us at that time.”

Patriarch Klavius Rocksunder cupped his hands and bowed his head, appearing quite ashamed of the events that had taken place.
