Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2899 Final Stand

Davis stared at the Celestial Transcendentʼs fist that held his Immortal Vessel location within his abdomen.

One wrong move, and he knew he would end up dead before he knew it.

”You never had a chance from the beginning.”

The Celestial Transcendent calmly spoke, ”The Paragon Magical Beasts almost measured up to your level while my prowess is greater than yours. Unless you can reach a realm where your prowess reaches the peak of eleven levels higher at the Immortal Stage when using your entire power, including your blood essence, you should-”

Abruptly, he saw Davis raise his battered hand and grab his wrist. It seemed to be clad in whatever chaotic energy was left in his left arm, using it to clench his palm so hard that it was causing his wrist to be pressured, yet it was unable to do anything.

”Sigh, donʼt bother.” The Celestial Transcendent gently sighed, ”Right now, Iʼm clad in my most powerful defense that used up half of the annihilative heavenly wind manifestation. Even if you scrounged all your martial energy into one condensed chaotic fist that reached the peak of eleven levels higher, you would not be able to put a dent in this defensive technique of mine.”

Davis trembled ever so lightly. He used his badly injured right hand, which was missing a lot of flesh, to hold the other partyʼs shoulder, seemingly wanting to maintain balance.

However, the Celestial Transcendent squinted his eyes.

”Reincarnation energy would also be useless as I would destroy your soul the moment I sense you using your soul force. Obediently state your last wishes so I can relay them to your family when they ascend.”

Davisʼs smile became even more wry.

”Youʼre just like the person I expected you to be, Celestial Transcendent. I respect you with all my heart. You have given me… enough understanding of the other irreconcilable side that haunts me to death. I thought it was without reason or just unreasonable hate against the unknown, but you opened my eyes that I am a tumor to this universe, waiting to explode on these… trillions… perhaps quadrillions of lives.”

The Celestial Transcendent didnʼt seem to reveal any emotion, but there were definitely some ripples in his windy crimson eyes.

”Are those your last words?”

”No…” Davis shook, his expression suddenly turning into one of reluctance.

”I want you to… eat this…”

eαglesnᴏνel Abruptly, Davisʼs five fingers stabbed into the Celestial Transcendentʼs shoulder.

”Destructio-!”

The Celestial Transcendent had just realized what had happened, but it was too late. His annihilative heavenly wind body, which was densely clad in chaotic energy, abruptly inflated over being filled with chaos and destruction.

*BANG!!!~*

A huge explosion shook heaven and earth, sending Davis flying as his right arm also exploded. The force of the explosion was so immense that Davis lost consciousness while the last thing he knew was having his Immortal Vessel destroyed by the Celestial Transcendent at the same time he attacked him.

On the other hand, the dispersing figure of the Celestial Transcendent was full of shock.

Was Davis waiting for him to be clad in chaotic energy so that he could destroy him in one single blow using the fusion of Chaos and Destruction Laws?

ʼDid he read that I would not kill him instantly but allow him to say his last words while I was fully clad in chaos to protect myself…!? Impossible!ʼ

The Celestial Transcendent felt that was incredulous. It was too much of a risk to take, considering that he was holding his life within his hands. Who would dare do such a thing? Play with their life in this Anarchic Divergentʼs Annihilative Immortal King Tribulation?

His eyes flashed with the past Anarchic Divergents who were capable of summoning him, but not one of them dared to play with their lives, giving all they got as they expended their energy to death instead of trying to use his own weakness against him.

ʼAm I not a cruel being who has come to take his life in his eyes…?ʼ

The Celestial Transcendent couldnʼt help but wonder, wondering how Davis could trust him to hold up to the character he has shown, but then, his hazy face turned into a gentle smile.

”Well played… Iʼm starting to lose sight of who you exactly are to be in possession of so many Supreme Laws, but… you havenʼt crossed your tribulation yet… so-”

”…!”

Davis opened his eyes as though a bolt of lightning hit him! However, coming to his senses, he saw that nothing hit him while he was embedded on the ground, having formed a thousand-meter-wide crater like he was an asteroid.

”Hsss!~”

The next second, pain overwhelmed his senses. However-

ʼMove, move, move…!ʼ

Looking at the other Paragon Magical Beasts descending, Davis tried to stand up but realized that he was only left with his left hand while his entire body seemed crushed while his legs were missing. His entire body was screaming pain, yet he knew if he didnʼt move and counterattack, it would be the end of his life.

He trembled heavily as he stood up, looking at the tiger only ride the wind only a few hundred kilometers away from him.

The Paragon Magical Beasts seemed to have slowed down considerably from before, perhaps because of being hit with the Heavenly Firestorm Explosive Wave. Knowing that this was the only chance he got, Davis forcefully sat up, seeing copious amounts of blood spill from his abdomen that had opened wider and essence and martial energy dispersing crazily with his Immortal Vessel destroyed.

He was unable to do anything about it.

However, creating a foot and patching up his body temporarily with life energy, he created a Spear of Damnation.

”…!”

His body shook. His vision turned blurry, knowing that he had less than twenty percent of soul force.

ʼFuck… that rabbit took my soul force while ripping me apart...ʼ

The yin rabbit had sucked the soul force out of him, which was unexpected. However, there was no time to complain, for he knew this was his last stand.

His pupils were nowhere to be seen, standing up with sheer willpower as he launched himself against a source of yang.

*Puchi!~*

Its giant claws slashed at him. However, he was like a specter, using the Hateless Ghost Emperor Steps to dodge and stab the Spear of Damnation into the tiger.

That was how easy it was, except almost nothing could be accomplished back when the Celestial Transcendent was present, ruining his every move. Currently, he didnʼt even know left or right, purely sensing his opponentsʼ undulations as he shot toward them.

His next opponent unveiled spatial undulations, causing him to create a Spear of Damnation again and blindly slash the location where the spatial undulations were present.

But as expected, he missed the target.

He tried to see, but his body was failing him, falling apart one by one. He tried to extend his soul sense to see, but as expected, his vision was extremely blurry and also caused his soulʼs focus to fail, so he decisively chose not to use it.

After all, he only had soul force left in his arsenal, with his body being broken apart.

”AHHHHHH!”

Davis let out a roar of pain and frustration, and at that moment, he sensed a spatial undulation coming at him. He instantly took advantage of its path and traced it back, swooshing through the air and arriving right beside it as he flipped his body, stabbing the empty zone with fury.

*Puchi!~*

He felt the impact, knowing that he got the rat, which left only the fox and the kirin.

Davisʼs body shook as he suddenly dodged a bolt of lightning. His movements were almost instinctive at this point, and he didnʼt know if he was even fighting or dreaming. He didnʼt even know if he was using his fleshly body or soul body as both seemed entangled together to support whatever was left of him.

However, he did everything he could, feeling all sorts of emotions like rage, sorrow, and fear before he finally felt some trace of feeling in his hands. The grasp of holding something became very clear.

He was battling with someone with the Spear of Damnation still in his hand.

Opening his eyes, he had some vision and saw that he was exchanging a flurry of attacks with the life fox. It had numerous injuries, with its annihilative body being stripped chunk by chunk as the Spear of Damnation slashed and pierced through it.

However, no matter how he damaged the life fox, it kept regenerating with an immense speed, its annihilative heavenly wind body seeming endless at this moment.

ʼQuick, finish it… Thereʼs still the kirin to deal with…!ʼ

Davis could feel that he was losing power and getting weaker and weaker, but he inwardly roared, summoning the last dregs of power within him as he roared and stabbed the life foxʼs head with full force.

*Puchi!~*

The Spear of Damnation stabbed right through its head, causing Davis to feel an immense emotion of relief, but he inwardly screamed, knowing that he couldnʼt lose consciousness.

The Spear of Damnation in his hand started to fade away with taking the life foxʼs Will. He wanted to use it, but it was dispersing away, leaving his grasp, causing him to have no choice but to use his fist as he turned around and punched with all his force.

However, the punch was so weak, not even capable of injuring a Late Stage Immortal.

”...”

Davis was in complete disbelief.

Not for having lost his Essence Gathering Cultivation and Body Tempering Cultivation destroyed but for seeing that no one was present.

He glanced up to the skies and saw that the dark skies were receding, revealing the light.

ʼDid I take out the kirin while I was unconscious…?ʼ

Davisʼs entire body twitched in disbelief and pain. Being completely flooded with relief at this moment, his body dropped to the ground, releasing bone-cracking sounds as his knees broke from simply falling to the ground.

He was weak beyond compare, but despite that, he tried to stand up as he greatly trembled.

ʼNo… I have to leave… this is the Fire Phoenix Cla-Clanʼs...ʼ

Davis lost his vision, his thoughts, and his power as he fell to the ground. That impact caused his vision to be forced to awaken one last time, and what he saw was three pairs of legs descending in front of him.

ʼReally…?ʼ

Looking at the Divergent Slayers descend, he was unable to keep his eyes open, slowly closing them. However, before it completely closed, he saw their three heads appear to his level, seeming to be full of snickers, yet for some reason, he imagined their heads werenʼt connected on their necks, causing him to laugh ever so lightly before he lost all consciousness.
