Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2927 The Starlight Jade Wolf Clanʼs Decision

Davis caressed Nadia with fondness while casting a look at the scene as though he was nothing but a spectator.

Looking at him remain absolutely calm, Master Deathseeker finally understood that his disciple didnʼt come here without a plan. It was neither reckless bravery nor belief in the Starlight Jade Wolf King that made him appear here. It was his women, specifically, the death-attributed wolf he had been dying to see from the start.

He couldnʼt help but sigh, wondering if he had planned this ahead or simply trusted his women to have his back.

Indeed, Davis couldnʼt help but find himself at ease with the presence of Nadia. Since she was here, he knew that her absolute suppression as an Emperor-Tier Beast would work on the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan.

Why?

Because he knew that Nadia was more of a direct descendant of the death-attributed Paragon Magical Beast Wolf than the Starlight Jade Wolf, which was considered a Saint Magical Beast, they were simply not in the same category as far as he could exaggerate.

After all, since bloodline suppression was a power that stemmed from above to below as it established hierarchy, it was only logical that Nadiaʼs bloodline suppression would work on the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan.

Nonetheless, after caressing Nadia to his heartʼs content, he finally opened his mouth amidst the silence.

”I donʼt care what you people think except Brother Fenren. The future is unknown, and not much could be said about how I could be depended on but only shown. I consider Fenren Jadelight to be my brother, so Iʼll ignore what happened just now and ask you all to reconsider one last time.”

As his voice came to an end, the bloodline pressure on the members of the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan also receded as Nadia stopped blaring her overbearing imperial aura.

The Starlight Jade Wolf Clanʼs members unwittingly heaved a sigh of relief as though they had been granted pardon, but once they realized what they had thought, their expressions turned unsightly.

Were they just quelled by an Immortal King Stage brat?

Naturally, they thought he was still playing games by hiding his true cultivation, like when he hid his identity. He had just passed his Immortal King Tribulation, so they couldnʼt understand how he still was not an Immortal King. Nonetheless, they didnʼt dare underestimate him anymore.

Even if he appeared weaker at the moment, he was definitely not vulnerable.

He had immortal inheritors surrounding him. If they took out their constructs here, which of course, wouldnʼt be able to put a dent here, things would certainly become complicated. Besides, they were their guests now, causing them to stay their hands and hesitate a lot, not knowing what to do as they were severely constrained between following the words of their Ancestor or their King.

”Emperor of Death.”

Third Ancestor Riyard stared at Davis with his small yet sharp eyes that were gleaming with scrutiny.

”I havenʼt dealt with Anarchic Divergents before, so I can only make a decision based on your status and actions. I have heard that youʼre too strong even for an Anarchic Divergent. Do you know what it means to be so twisted that the heavens would reject everything around you? You may survive, but not us.”

In response, Davis nodded as he smiled.

”If you donʼt want to be my ally, Iʼll simply leave and show myself to the world. Therefore, the Fire Phoenix Clan should lose their so-called reasoning to invade you along with any other alliances. With that, I donʼt see the need for your clan to capture and hand me over to my enemies, so why did you take that decision just now?”

Third Ancestor Riyard harrumphed, ”Then what if they still attack us?”

”That wouldnʼt be my fault, would it? Iʼm not fueling their greed. Your clanʼs treasures are.”

”You gave them the opportunity to strike first. Now that they have more than half the world on their side, do you still think my Starlight Jade Wolf Clan can survive?” He growled at Davis, appearing to be indignant.

The old manʼs words made Davis purse his lips before heaving a light sigh.

”Perhaps, you can. Perhaps, you couldnʼt. However, I donʼt want to be enemies with your clan, not because Iʼm afraid of your forces, but because Iʼm afraid youʼre repeating the mistakes of the Fire Phoenix Clan.”

”Youʼre threatening us!?”

”Iʼm simply stating the consequences. Take it as you will.”

”You-”

”Enough!”

Third Ancestor Riyard simply couldnʼt endure this juniorʼs audacious words when the Starlight Jade Wolf King roared, his brows frowning as he turned to look at the latter.

”Third Ancestor Riyard, youʼre simply too old and out of the loop to be making any decisions. As the Ancestor, your responsibility is to allow the clan to be safe from calamities, but that doesnʼt include an Anarchic Divergent who has yet to even enter the Immortal King Stage. Youʼre acting out of place, out of fear, which is understandable since youʼre looking out for the clan, but canʼt you see that my brother means no harm to us?”

Clenching his teeth, he waved his hand, ”How can you backstab him like this? If you really did capture him and hand him over, have you ever stopped to consider how it would affect my determination? Are you trying to make me, a King, carry the burden of being called a betrayer!?”

Third Ancestor Riyard appeared gloomy, ”Young Patriarch, this isnʼt about you. Itʼs about the clanʼs safety, which is of the utmost importance.”

”I understand.”

The Starlight Jade Wolf King sighed, ”In that case, I can also only stick to my convictions and care about the clanʼs safety in my own way. However, Iʼm not blind to the imminent disaster that approaches the clan.”

”Everyone, if you want to heed Third Ancestorʼs words, then go stand by him. As long as the number standing by him is at the majority, Iʼll allow you all to capture my brother and hand him over to the Fire Phoenix Clan like a cold-hearted betrayer.”

”…!”

Everyone widened their eyes as they saw their King shuddering.

”However, anything that comes after that would be a cold-hearted ruler who wouldnʼt give a shit about your lives, you bastards. Everyone will be sacrificed for the sake of the clan, regardless if it is women or children.”

”Patriarch…”

They saw the suppressed fury in his eyes about to explode, causing them all to tremble.

”My King! I apologize! I was blind!”

Instantly, one of the elders went on his knees, cupping his hands, and lowered his hands as though pleading for him to calm down.

”…!”

As though realizing what they had done, many elders started kneeling one after another, their voices exploding with apologies and repentance.

There could be only one leader during times of war. How could they look back and forth, heeding the opinion of someone else when they had followed their King for so many years? They were completely mortified, feeling that they had betrayed his expectations, even trust.

Even a few Grand Elders eventually sighed, going to stand beside their King while some remained unable to choose.

Third Ancestor Riyard was right. Handing over the Emperor of Death was the easiest way out of being eradicated by the greedy and ravenous powers around them. The times were changing with the Candidacy appearing, so there were bound to be powers that were going to become extinct. They had no doubt about that.

However, they didnʼt want to go as far as betraying the words their representative, their King, had given.

It was a greater sin for their prideful nature. How could they stand tall with dignity after that?

”Little third,” Suddenly, Renfa Jadelight spoke up in a soft voice, ”Weʼre already anxious about our options for survival, just like you. It seems as though we couldnʼt even make it to the Candidacy as we could be eradicated before that happens, so what are you trying to do, spreading more seeds of fear in her our hearts?”

”Great Ancestor, I…”

Third Ancestor Riyard seemed to be at a loss for words. Looking around, none of them stood by him. Many were pleading with the Starlight Jade Wolf King to forgive them, while others stood neutral but still appeared as though they were going to walk toward their Patriarch.

Was he making a mistake? How come?

Wasnʼt an Anarchic Divergent supposed to be killed on sight? How did that change?

”Ancestor Riyard, thatʼs enough.”

”The young ones had made their decisions.”

Abruptly, two more individuals descended from the skies. They wore white robes and also looked old, causing many eyes to churn.

They were the First and Second Ancestors!

Their gazes fell on the Emperor of Death as they saw him smile.

”What a good, passionate bunch… I like it.”

Davis chuckled.

As expected, his brother was a natural, charismatic leader who led everyone through example, except he had to put his leg down this time instead of leaving them to their devices as they were led astray by one of their Ancestors, who was also not wrong.

After all, not even he could predict the future, much less save the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan when it was besieged by almost every alliance in existence.

Therefore, he possessed no hostility against them unless they targeted his family, which he could see that they didnʼt as they didnʼt treat Isabella and the others wrongly to trap him.

”Nadia, shall we have our marriage here as we had planned before once?”

Nadiaʼs golden eyes shook as she suddenly turned to look at Davis. Her tiny figure glowed with a pitch-black light before she was in his arms, having her arms wrapped around his neck as she kissed his cheek.

”Yes, my master~ We can have Everlight too~”

”…”

Davis blinked. His Nadia, who was low-key jealous of him flirting with other wolves, especially Everlight, although she had become a fox, was stating that he could marry the both of them at the same time!?

But speaking of two women, he couldnʼt help but turn to look at Panqa and Lanqua, who followed Isabella and the others into here, standing by his side faithfully with anxious expressions on their faces.

It seemed like they were together from the time he left the Blazing Thunderlight Sect, therefore-

ʼThey couldnʼt have already spilled that out, right...?ʼ
