Chapter 44 -44: Lin Dong to be Imprisoned?

“Dad, what are you doing? Could it be that you actually knelt before this kid?”

Huang Hua really couldn’t understand and asked Huang Wude in confusion.

Huang Wude felt awkward, as the incident at Lin Hu’s place had been a rather humiliating experience for him.

But the reality was just so; he had indeed witnessed Lin Dong’s medical arts!

Since Huang Wude did not know that Lin Hu had passed away, he subconsciously thought that Lin Dong had Lin Hu’s support and thus, did not dare to offend him.

He would naturally not have acted on the promise he made earlier if Lin Dong hadn’t shown up.

But now that Lin Dong had appeared, Huang Wude dared not renege on his promise.

“Divine Doctor Lin, I’ll issue the notice right away,” Huang Wude quickly said.

Having said that, he prepared to turn his head and issue the notice.

He did not want to stay any longer, as it was too embarrassing.

Everyone was once again surprised.

Even The First Lady of the city couldn’t help but speak up, “Director Huang, does this mean this man can really cure diseases? Is his medical skill good?”

Huang Wude, with a reluctant nod, said, “The First Lady of the city, you can let him try to treat Mayor Fang!”

In Huang Wude’s view, if Lin Dong could heal Mayor Fang, it would be beneficial for their hospital as well.

As for not being able to heal him, that would be even better. If The First Lady of the city blamed Lin Dong, then he was as good as dead.

After leaving these words, he hastily left the sickroom.

Once Huang Wude had gone, everyone’s eyes turned once again to Lin Dong.

“Can you really cure my husband?” The First Lady of the city pondered for a while before asking.

Lin Dong nodded, “Of course I can!”

“Then treat him at once!” demanded The First Lady of the city in an unquestionable tone.

Lin Dong felt uncomfortable; although this woman was The First Lady of the city, her attitude was far from satisfactory.

“Hmph, if you don’t cure him, you’ll be charged with practicing medicine without a license and thrown into prison!” Wang Meimei coldly interjected from the side.

Hearing this, Sister Bai Jue hurriedly said, “Dongzi, forget it. I don’t need this job, and you shouldn’t treat him either. The risk is too great.”

In her opinion, treating Mayor Fang was too dangerous.

Although she knew that Lin Dong’s medical skill was indeed very good, what if he couldn’t cure him?

If the treatment failed, that could mean prison!

It wasn’t worth taking such a big risk.

Lin Dong did not speak, as he was not worried about the risks.

Because he was one hundred percent certain he could cure him!

However, the attitude of The First Lady of the city irked him greatly.

Seeing he remained silent and hesitant, Huang Hua, Wang Meimei, and the others felt that Lin Dong lacked confidence.

Consequently, they became even more eager for Lin Dong to treat Mayor Fang!

If Lin Dong failed to heal him, then it would be the end for him.

“Lin Dong, this is Mayor Fang. If you can cure him, you’d be unbelievably lucky. Why aren’t you rushing to treat him?”

Huang Hua sneered internally, now even more hopeful that Lin Dong would proceed with the treatment.

Lin Dong glanced at him, fully aware of the schemes in his mind.

The First Lady of the city spoke again, “Hurry up and treat him, don’t waste any more time!”

Lin Dong snorted and said, “I will treat him, but I have a few conditions!”

“You have conditions to treat Mayor Fang? You really know how to put on an act!” scoffed Wang Meimei.

Liu Yun, The First Lady of the city, also felt irritated, “What conditions?”

Lin Dong pointed at Liu Yun and said, “First, if I cure Mayor Fang, you owe me an apology.”

“Second, dismiss this nurse called Wang Meimei!”

Hearing this, Liu Yun’s expression turned uglier still, but she reluctantly agreed through gritted teeth, “Fine if you can cure him, anything you say!”

Only then did Lin Dong proceed to treat Mayor Fang.

Qiao Bing had been watching quietly from the side, without saying a word.

Can Traditional Chinese Medicine cure diseases?

In her view, it surely could!

Western medicine treats symptoms; traditional Chinese medicine cures the root cause.

She had seen many impressive Traditional Chinese Doctors who could treat stubborn conditions that western medicine could not. However, these doctors were all elderly. She had never seen a young one like Lin Dong.

At this moment, she was also curious to see whether Lin Dong could really do it.

“Dream on about getting me dismissed! You’re finished if you can’t cure him.” Wang Meimei thought meanly, looking at Lin Dong preparing to treat the patient.

Huang Hua also sneered to himself, “I don’t believe you can really cure Mayor Fang. If our entire department couldn’t do anything, could you possibly be better than all of us?”

At this moment, Lin Dong took out forty-nine Silver Needles!

This time, the needle technique he used was the forty-ninth of the Taiyi Yin-yang Divine Needle!

He needed to insert forty-nine Silver Needles into forty-nine acupoints on Mayor Fang’s body.

“Shua shua shua~~~”

With the Silver Needles inserted, Mayor Fang suddenly looked like a hedgehog.

Seeing this, Huang Hua couldn’t help but say, “Are you sure this is treatment? This is clearly witchcraft!”

“This looks painful; it’s so frightening,” Wang Meimei added.

The First Lady of the city was visibly struggling with mixed feelings, suddenly regretting her decision.

Regretting that she let Lin Dong treat her husband… she couldn’t bear to consider the consequences if her husband were to actually die!

Just as she was about to stop Lin Dong, suddenly, at this moment, the medical equipment connected to Mayor Fang emitted a ‘beep’ sound as a warning.

Afterward, the heart rate line on the machine turned into a flat line!

“This is bad!” Qiao Bing’s complexion changed drastically, “Mayor Fang’s heartbeat has stopped!”

“As expected, recklessly endangering lives, this kid has killed Mayor Fang!” Huang Hua announced loudly, feeling overjoyed inside. It mattered little to him whether Mayor Fang lived or died, but Lin Dong was surely doomed – there was no doubt about it!

Wang Meimei also said, “Lin Dong, you’re done for. You’ve actually killed Mayor Fang!”

The complexion of The First Lady of the city also turned deathly pale.

Overwhelmed with regret, she wondered why she had agreed to let Lin Dong treat her husband!

At the same time, she was filled with fury, glaring at Lin Dong, “Kid, you came to perform tricks pretending to be a doctor; you’re really seeking death!”

“If I don’t make you spend the rest of your days in prison, I’ll take your surname!”

She vented all her rage onto Lin Dong.

Sister Bai Jue’s complexion was as pale as chalk, muttering, “It’s over…”
