Chapter 35 -35: Li Jian, Do As You Please

Lin Dong visited the room where Bai Jue was being held again. Seeing Lin Dong, Bai Jue hurriedly asked with concern:

“Dongzi, are you alright? They didn’t do anything to you, did they?”

Lin Dong shook his head and looked at Sister Bai Jue’s fair-skinned face, which bore five clear fingerprint marks.

They were left by Lin Bao earlier.

At that moment, Lin Dong had warned Lin Bao, telling him he was as good as dead.

Now, with Lin Bao reduced to ashes, Lin Dong had fulfilled his previous words.

“Sister Bai Jue, everything’s settled. Lin Hu has died, and Lin Bao is… no longer with us. Now, it’s Sister Hong who has taken over Lin Hu’s authority,” Lin Dong said lightly.

After hearing this, Bai Jue was stunned for quite a while.

She wasn’t foolish; she had previously overheard the conspiracy between Lin Dong and Sister Hong, but she had not expected that they would actually succeed.

“Dongzi, will Sister Hong listen to you now?” Bai Jue asked softly.

Lin Dong nodded, “Of course.”

Bai Jue felt simultaneously surprised and relieved, with a trace of worry.

The reason for the surprise was naturally that Lin Dong now held power – effectively holding everything Lin Hu had!

As for the worry, it was out of fear that Lin Dong might get hurt in his struggle with Sister Hong and the others, and also that he might lose himself after gaining power.

“Dongzi, you can’t turn bad once you have money and power,” Bai Jue cautioned him.

Lin Dong smiled and replied, “Sister Bai Jue, you’re overthinking it. I don’t want to trouble myself with these matters; I’m just hoping that in the future, if such things happen again, they won’t be so troublesome.”

“Mm-hmm, I believe you’re not that kind of person,” Bai Jue shook her head and chuckled.

Indeed, what was the need to think so much about it?

This was a time to be happy.

“By the way, Dongzi, did the divorce go smoothly?” Bai Jue suddenly remembered and asked with a blush on her face.

Last night, due to this mental obstacle, Bai Jue had not given herself to Lin Dong.

Now, she was somewhat expectant.

Lin Dong was about to respond when suddenly someone knocked on the door.

“Bang, bang~~” After the knocking came Sister Hong’s voice: “Divine Doctor Lin, Sister Bai Jue, may I come in?”

Sister Hong did not barge in but knocked on the door out of courtesy, fearing that if Lin Dong and Bai Jue were being intimate inside, it would be awkward to walk in on them.

“Come in,” Lin Dong invited.

Hearing Lin Dong’s permission, Sister Hong then pushed the door open and entered.

The only person who entered was her.

She was here because there was something else she needed to ask Lin Dong.

“By the way, Divine Doctor Lin, Lin Hu previously sent Lin Bao to catch you at your rental house, but he caught the wrong person and ended up taking your clansman, Lin Jian, instead,” she said.

“Now, he’s being held here; should we release him?”

Lin Dong was startled and somewhat surprised.

Lin Jian had been caught by mistake?

“Release him,” Lin Dong said after a slight hesitation.

“Okay,” Sister Hong nodded, then went to bring Lin Jian over.

“Please, let me go. If you’re looking for Lin Dong, I’ll help you find him,” Lin Jian pleaded, limping and entreating Sister Hong.

Sister Hong maintained a grim expression and said nothing.

Soon Lin Jian was brought before Lin Dong.

Seeing Lin Dong, Lin Jian became excited and indignant.

“Lin Dong, you bastard, you’ve doomed me. Because of you, Lin Hu captured me and his men broke one of my legs,” Lin Jian started cursing Lin Dong the moment he saw him.

Lin Dong felt awkward, not expecting such a blunder.

Feeling somewhat remorseful, he said, “Brother Jian, how about I treat your leg?”

“Get lost, you can’t cure a damn thing,” Lin Jian didn’t believe Lin Dong could heal illnesses.

Seeing this, Lin Dong was helpless; he had previously told him about his liver disease, yet Lin Jian hadn’t believed him.

Now, feeling a bit guilty, Lin Dong wanted to heal Lin Jian’s broken leg, but he still didn’t believe he could be cured.

So, there wasn’t much more to say.

“Then, Brother Jian, you should go to the hospital. And while you’re at it, get a full body checkup,” Lin Dong reminded him again.

But Lin Jian didn’t care at all; he just said, “Lin Dong, just give me another hundred thousand yuan. Otherwise, I won’t sign the Divorce Agreement with Bai Jue.”

At these words, Bai Jue’s face turned pale, anger apparent in her voice. “Lin Jian, how could you be like this? You just took five hundred thousand from Lin Dong, agreeing to officially divorce me, and now you’re going back on your word and demanding another hundred thousand.”

“Heh, Lin Dong, will you give it or not? If not, I won’t sign the Divorce Agreement,” Lin Jian shamelessly demanded.

Lin Dong’s expression also darkened; his clansman was really shameless.

Sister Hong, standing to one side, suddenly spoke up. “Divine Doctor Lin, do you need me to step in?”

This was Lin Dong’s family affair, so she wanted to check if he needed her intervention.

Lin Dong waved his hand and said, “I’ll handle it myself!”

Having declared this, Lin Dong turned to look at Lin Jian again and said sternly, “Fine, I’ll give you another hundred thousand. Today, you must sign the Divorce Agreement with Sister Bai Jue immediately!”

Lin Jian’s eyes flickered; he hadn’t expected Lin Dong to agree so quickly.

He suddenly regretted not asking for more money.

“No, I’m raising the price! Add another hundred thousand!” Lin Jian became even more shameless.

Bai Jue trembled with rage, unable to believe how despicable Lin Jian could be.

Even Sister Hong, who was just an observer, couldn’t stand it anymore.

This man was utterly disgusting!!!

“Lin Jian, do you want your other leg to be broken too?” Sister Hong snapped viciously.

After saying this, the two big men behind her stepped forward.

Seeing this, Lin Jian quickly conceded, “Alright, alright, a hundred thousand it is!”

Sister Hong had a lawyer present; she called the lawyer over, and they drafted a legally binding Divorce Agreement on the spot.

Lin Jian and Bai Jue each signed their names on it.

After signing, Lin Dong, as he had promised, gave Lin Jian a hundred thousand yuan.

Once Lin Jian had the money, Lin Dong gave him one last piece of advice, “Don’t gamble this away. Go to the hospital and get treated, or you only have half a year left to live!”

“Lin Dong, don’t curse me. It’s you who only has half a year left to live,” Lin Jian retorted.

Lin Jian, not heeding Lin Dong’s words, set his mind on recouping his losses with the money.

After receiving the money, Lin Jian left, limping away.

Watching his departing figure, Lin Dong also shook his head; he said no more.

He would have to fend for himself now; as a younger relative, Lin Dong had fulfilled his obligations with all due benevolence and fairness.
