Chapter 40 -40 Qiao Xue’s Pursuit Object

“Dongzi…” Bai Jue could also feel the intense gaze from Lin Dong. She couldn’t help but blush deeply as she called out to him.

Lin Dong then realized his gaffe, quickly shook his head, and proceeded to treat Sister Bai Jue’s illness.

He used a moxa stick for the painful Bladder Shu acupoint.

This acupoint is located on the back, on the first lateral line of the Foot’s Greater Yang Meridian, that is, 1.5 cun lateral to the midline of the back (Governor Vessel).

After Lin Dong administered the moxibustion, Bai Jue felt a warm flow of heat entering her body.

Her body instantly became lazy, as if she was soaking in a hot spring.

Soon, she felt a wave of tiredness and fell into a beautiful sleep.

This time, after she fell asleep, her eyebrows were not tightly knit as before but rather her whole body was relaxed, stretched out comfortably.

Seeing this, Lin Dong couldn’t help but whisper to himself:

“Sister Bai Jue really trusts me. Isn’t she afraid that I might do something to her while she’s asleep?”

He shook his head, despite the allure Sister Bai Jue carried.

But Lin Dong did not do anything to her while she slept.

That was something he simply could not do.

After tucking her in, Lin Dong took a shower himself.

After his bath, Lin Dong also fell asleep.

The next morning, Bai Jue woke up feeling refreshed and lively.

She hadn’t slept so well in a long time, and it was a true comfort.

“Dongzi’s medical arts are really good, just a few simple moxibustion treatments and they allowed me, who often suffers from insomnia, to have such a lovely sleep.”

Bai Jue felt that Lin Dong’s medical skills were even better than those experts at the hospital.

She was also somewhat looking forward to Lin Dong working at the hospital and using his skills to treat more patients.

After waking up, she did not immediately wake Lin Dong.

Instead, she went to the entrance of the community and brought back some breakfast foods like steamed buns and soy milk.

Only after her return did she use her slim, tender hands to pinch Lin Dong’s nose.

When Lin Dong woke up, he found Sister Bai Jue’s face close to his own.

At the same time, she exhaled softly and said in a low voice, “Dongzi, time to wake up. You promised me yesterday that you’d apply to our hospital for a job today.”

It was then that Lin Dong remembered this commitment and nodded, climbing out of bed.

Sister Bai Jue was like a considerate big sister, gently preparing his toothpaste and wash water for him.

Lin Dong had never experienced such tenderness before.

He thoroughly enjoyed the feeling, as if the entire room were filled with gentleness.

During the meal, she even helped him pull apart his bun and held it to his mouth, practically chewing it for him.

If there was a smear of bun on the corner of his mouth, Sister Bai Jue would wipe it off gently.

After the meal, Lin Dong nearly melted from Sister Bai Jue’s tender care.

She really was so considerate; to have such a woman take care of him would be nothing short of delightful.

After eating, the two left the house and headed for Jianghai Renmin’s Hospital.

The location is near a subway station, a short walk away, which makes it very convenient to go out.

The two took the subway and arrived at the hospital.

The hospital was bustling with people coming and going.

Bai Jue was ready to take Lin Dong to the HR Department, but they suddenly ran into one of her department colleagues.

Her colleague quickly said, “Bai Jue, hurry to the department. The Director is urgently looking for you!”

Upon seeing this, Bai Jue looked at Lin Dong.

Lin Dong Laughingly Said, “Sister Bai Jue, go ahead with your work. I can find my way there!”

“Okay, Dongzi, then Sister Bai Jue has to leave. There might be some issue in the department.”

Bai Jue explained, as being a doctor or nurse is intimately related to human life and cannot be taken lightly.

She hastened to her department.

As for Lin Dong, he looked at the map in the clinic’s hall.

The map indicated where the HR Department was located.

As he was looking at the map, suddenly a voice rang out.

“Lin Dong, what are you doing here?” The speaker was very familiar. Lin Dong looked towards the owner of the voice.

Upon looking, he was startled to find that it was none other than Qiao Xue’s mother, Chu Yunxiu.

By her side was a youth dressed in a suit, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, looking quite scholarly.

He was Huang Zicheng, the young master of the Huang’s, a prominent family in Jianghai, who was currently pursuing Qiao Xue.

Hearing that Chu Yunxiu was feeling unwell, he specially came over to accompany her to the hospital.

“Aunty, who is this?” Huang Zicheng asked with a smile, addressing Chu Yunxiu.

Chu Yunxiu humphed and said, “Huang Shao, this person here is that fiancé we unwisely listed on Xiaoxue’s marriage book!”

At these words, his gaze became sharper.

Chu Yunxiu elaborated, “Huang Shao, it was the elder’s confusion, an old marriage agreement made for Xiaoxue. With no choice of refusal, Xiaoxue could only nominally have him as her fiancé for half a year.”

“Oh, aunty, I have heard of this matter before. So the fiancé of Xiaoxue is him,” said Huang Shao, Huang Zicheng, his eyes coldly fixed on Lin Dong.

“Brother, where are you currently high above in your achievements? I seem to have never seen you in the Jianghai circle!” Huang Zicheng extended his hand as if to greet Lin Dong, but his posture was condescending.

Lin Dong, out of politeness, extended his hand and clasped with his.

However, at that moment, Huang Zicheng suddenly applied force! Intending to embarrass Lin Dong.

Lin Dong naturally sensed it and couldn’t help but snort internally, applying some strength as well.

Huang Zicheng immediately felt as if his hand was clamped by pincers, with intense pain shooting through it!

His expression contorted into something hideous, ready to react, but Lin Dong suddenly let go, grinning cheekily and said:

“Huang Shao, what’s wrong? You look pale. Constipated?”

Huang Zicheng, feeling as if he had eaten bitter gall, had never anticipated that this kid would have such strength in his hands.

He was well-versed in karate, judo, and kendo, a recognized expert in these fields, yet he had suffered a loss at Lin Dong’s hands.

Huang Zicheng humphed back, replying, “Vulgar!”

Chu Yunxiu added, “Huang Shao, don’t stoop to his level. He’s from the countryside, hasn’t even graduated from university. His speech is crude, full of foul language!”

Huang Zicheng nodded, “I see.”

Lin Dong rolled his eyes. Mentioning constipation was enough to be branded as foul-mouthed?

“Huang Shao, constipation isn’t to be feared, what’s terrifying is diarrhea.” Lin Dong shrugged, implying something deeper.

“Lin Dong, shut your mouth. Not a hint of class in your words, the old man must be crazy, actually getting you hooked up with Xiaoxue through this marriage agreement!” Chu Yunxiu couldn’t help it anymore and scolded Lin Dong.

Lin Dong just smiled, knowing that when he had shaken hands with Huang Shao, he had done something to his Branch Rivulet Acupoint.

This particular acupoint, located on the back of the forearm, can treat constipation if pressed with proper intensity. Of course, if the pressure is too high, it can also cause diarrhea!

In a few minutes, Huang Shao would likely embarrass himself.

Lin Dong didn’t want to stay to witness that scene and planned to head for the HR Department.

Chu Yunxiu, persistent, blocked Lin Dong’s way and asked, “Lin Dong, you haven’t said what you’re doing here yet?”

Lin Dong shrugged, “I came to look for a job.”

“Looking for work? What job? Security guard?” Chu Yunxiu believed that with Lin Dong’s education, he could only be looking for security work at the hospital.

Lin Dong shook his head: “Looking for a doctor’s job!”

“Doctor?” Chu Yunxiu rolled her eyes, “Stop joking, alright? With your high school diploma, you come here looking for a doctor’s job?”

“Do you know what the minimum requirement is for doctors hired here? This is a Grade III Hospital, where doctors must at least have a Medical Master’s degree.”

Chu Yunxiu went on a tirade, thinking the elder was truly blind to let Xiaoxue be linked in marriage with such a man.

And Xiaoxue, agreeing to let this man be her nominal fiancé for half a year?

It’s utterly embarrassing!

Meanwhile, Huang Shao snickered, “I’m laughing, are you an idiot? With a high school diploma, running to a Grade III Hospital to look for a doctor’s job!”

“Is that very funny?” Lin Dong laughed too.

“Of course, it is.” Huang Shao snickered again.

But while laughing merrily, his face suddenly turned pale.

As he made a snickering sound, a growl came from his stomach.

Then, another ‘snicker,’ but this time, it wasn’t laughter—it was… diarrhea!!

Completely unmanageable, like a dam bursting, it gushed out!

Instantly, a foul smell emanated from him.

Chu Yunxiu was also stunned, looking at Huang Zicheng with disbelief, “How stinky, Huang Shao, is it you… who had diarrhea?”
