Chapter 31 -31: Lin Bao’s Ambition

After Lin Bao’s voice sounded, Sister Bai Jue’s voice followed closely.

“Dongzi, don’t come! Don’t bother with me…”

“Pop—” The sound of a slap followed, and then Lin Bao’s voice rose again, “Stupid woman, seeking death, huh!”

The other party had clearly slapped Bai Jue before then turning to Lin Dong on the phone:

“Lin Dong, if you don’t come, this woman will die a terrible death!”

“You wouldn’t want to see her, die defiled…”

Lin Dong’s heart turned cold, having already sentenced Lin Bao to death.

“Wait for me, I’ll be there immediately!”

After hanging up the phone, Lin Dong kept silent, hailed a taxi, and headed for Emperor.

He arrived at Emperor very soon.

At the door, Lin Bao was already waiting for him with his people.

“You must be Lin Dong, right?” Lin Bao looked at Lin Dong and asked coldly.

Lin Dong nodded and asked Lin Bao icily, “Where is Sister Bai Jue?”

“Locked up, as soon as you’ve cured Brother Hu, we’ll naturally release her,” Lin Bao said, shrugging.

“I want to see her first…”

“Okay,” Lin Bao agreed and led Lin Dong to a room.

In the room, Sister Bai Jue was being held captive. On seeing Lin Dong arrive, she said with a mix of emotion and concern, “Dongzi, you shouldn’t have come.”

“These people have no bottom line. Even if you really rescue Lin Hu, they won’t let us go.”

Lin Dong asked, “Sister Bai Jue, are you alright? Did they hurt you?”

Bai Jue shook her head, “Lin Bao gave me a slap, but other than that, they haven’t hurt me.”

“That’s good, Sister Bai Jue, wait here for me. Rest assured, I will definitely get you out,” Lin Dong finally relaxed a bit on seeing that Bai Jue was okay.

“Heh, you’ve seen her, now go and cure my Brother Hu!” Lin Bao interjected from the side.

Lin Dong nodded and followed Lin Bao to the private room where Lin Hu was.

Lin Hu was gravely sick by now.

He lay in bed and was pleased to see Lin Bao bringing Lin Dong in.

“Quick…help me…up!” he told Sister Hong beside him.

Sister Hong was really scared, as she hadn’t expected Lin Dong to be caught.

“It’s over, will my affair with Lin Dong be exposed? If it’s exposed, Lin Hu will flay me alive…”

However, as she was frightened, an ethereal voice rose in her ears.

“Don’t panic, do as I told you by telepathy!”

Hummm—

On hearing this voice, Sister Hong was completely stunned.

Telepathy?

What kind of skill was this?

This Divine Doctor Lin could actually use such magical telepathy… was he an immortal?

Sister Hong had no hesitation at this moment. How could she not obey a person who possessed such skills?

Now, she steadied her mind and helped Lin Hu up.

Lin Hu looked at Lin Dong with a weak voice:

“Lin Dong, hurry up and cure me! If you do, your woman can live.”

“Otherwise, she’s doomed! And you’ll die with her.”

“You wouldn’t want to bury me, a man with a terminal illness, would you?”

Lin Dong said gravely, “You will face retribution!”

“Enough talk, I just ask you. Will you cure me or not?” Lin Hu glared at Lin Dong with a ferocious look.

Lin Dong hmphed and said, “I need to boil medicine…”

“Okay, whatever you need to cure the sickness, I’ll provide,” Lin Hu replied.

Lin Dong wrote down a prescription and sent people to buy the medicine.

About ten minutes later, Lin Hu’s people bought the medicines listed on the prescription.

Fearing Lin Dong might tamper with the medicine while boiling it, Lin Hu instructed Lin Bao and Sister Hong to supervise him.

“Little Bao, Xiao Hong, you guys watch him!” Lin Hu instructed cautiously.

“Yes!” The two replied hastily.

Sister Hong felt anxious inside, waiting for Lin Dong to telepathically contact her.

But at that moment, there was no sound in her ear, almost making her doubt whether the telepathy she heard earlier was real.

However, soon, she heard Lin Dong’s voice in her ear again:

“You need to sow discord between Lin Bao and Lin Hu next, making Lin Bao rebel in his heart…”

Upon hearing this voice, Sister Hong’s eyes brightened.

Soon, the three of them went to the kitchen to boil the medicine.

In the large kitchen, there were just the three of them.

While boiling the medicine, Sister Hong started chatting with Lin Bao as instructed by Lin Dong’s telepathy.

“Brother Bao, ah, I really feel it’s not worth it for you…” Sister Hong suddenly said this.

Lin Bao asked in a deep voice, “Sister-in-law, why do you say that?”

“Think about it, Brother Bao, your martial power is even stronger than Tiger Master. After following Tiger Master through blood and blade for so many years, in the end, Tiger Master grabbed the title of one of The Four Heavenly Kings of the Black Dragon Society. But you ended up with nothing.”

“If you ask me, the person who most deserves that position… should be you, Brother Bao…”

Lin Bao felt a sting in his heart upon hearing her words.

In truth, he’d long harbored the same thoughts!

Although Lin Hu was his big brother, he had risked his life helping him for years, while all the benefits were taken by Lin Hu.

Lin Bao had nothing but a Martial Arts Club, and that’s all!

The beauties were Lin Hu’s, the Casino, Dance Hall, Bar – those industries, they were all Lin Hu’s.

“Sister-in-law, you think so too? You believe I, Lin Bao, deserve that position more than Lin Hu?” Lin Bao’s eyes flickered as he asked, grinding his teeth.

Sister Hong rejoiced inwardly, thinking the fish had bitten the hook.

However, her face did not show it, and she nodded in agreement:

“Yes, Brother Bao, I’ve always felt it wasn’t fair for you… Anyway, many people down there think that you, Brother Bao, are more deserving of that position!”

“Brother Bao, don’t you want to replace Lin Hu?”

“Haha, I know, you’re also interested in me. If you replace Lin Hu, I’ll be the first to support you!”

On hearing what Sister Hong said, Lin Bao was completely moved.

He had always harbored that idea for Sister Hong, but due to her being his big brother’s woman, he didn’t dare to harbor any improper thoughts.

But now, it was different.

Lin Hu, plagued with a brain tumor, lay paralyzed in bed. To kill Lin Hu, that would be too simple.

Lin Bao’s ambition was roused, and he embraced Sister Hong’s waist, declaring:

“Sister Hong, from now on, you’ll be Lin Bao’s woman!”

“And I, Lin Bao, will replace Lin Hu to become one of the new Heavenly Kings of the Black Dragon Society!”

After saying this, Lin Bao looked towards Lin Dong.

“Kid, act like a deaf-mute, and you might survive. Otherwise, you and Bai Jue will die without a place for your bodies to lie!”

Lin Dong pretended to nod, saying, “I’ve heard nothing.”

In his heart, however, he sneered. The ‘fish’ was already in the net…
