Chapter 2: Chapter 2 Keep My Secret for Me

But at this moment, in Lin Dongʼs mind, the scene where Sister Bai Jue gave him New Yearʼs money in the past echoed.

He cursed himself as a beast.

He quickly shook his head, ”Sister Bai Jue, do you have some unspeakable secret?”

Bai Jue was at a loss for words.

”Stop asking, can you pretend you donʼt know me?” she said, her hands reaching out to Lin Dong, intending to continue what they hadnʼt finished earlier.

Lin Dong immediately pushed her away.

She couldnʼt help but fall to the ground, looking pitiful.

”Do... do you think Iʼm dirty?”

Lin Dong awkwardly waved his hands: ”No, Sister Bai Jue, I didnʼt mean that...”

”Then just pretend you donʼt know me.” Bai Jue knelt on the ground, looking up at Lin Dong with a pitiful face.

Lin Dong had a mournful look on his face; he had no idea that take-out had that connotation.

If he had known, he would never have ordered take-out.

As the two were at a standoff, suddenly a rugged voice came from outside.

”Old Lady Chen, I heard that you have some new tea here today? Tonight, I, Tiger Master, want to have a taste.”

”Ouch, Tiger Master, ah. How did you come here! Iʼm really sorry, but the new tea is currently entertaining a guest.”

The old madam who had brought Lin Dong here responded.

”Canʼt you just tell that guest to get lost?”

”Thatʼs not good, Tiger Master. Whatever we do, we follow the principle of first come, first served.”

”Pop!!” A slap resounded.

”Damn it, talking to me about first come, first served while doing this kind of business. Which room are they in? I want the first taste today!”

Having been slapped, the old madam became much more compliant and dutifully reported the room number.

Soon, footsteps thundered forth.

They reached the door of the room where Lin Dong was.

Because the voices of the two had been loud just before, Lin Dong and Bai Jue heard everything clearly.

At the moment, Bai Jueʼs face was pale with fear.

”This isnʼt good, Dongzi, it seems like Lin Hu, the gang leader of this district, is coming.”

”Bang~” At that moment, the sound of a door being kicked in resounded, and then a burly man appeared, bare-chested, wearing beach shorts, a thick gold chain around his neck, and a black dragon tattooed on his arm.

As soon as he entered, his eyes blazed as he surveyed Bai Jue from top to bottom.

”This new girl is really good stuff, ah. Sheʼs better than all the women Iʼve been with before, both in figure and looks,” Lin Hu laughed hysterically.

This woman looked as beautiful as a star!

Lucky night tonight.

”Come here, babe, come to me.”

He grinned, revealing a mouthful of stained yellow teeth.

Bai Jue was both scared and disgusted.

Having to serve such a man made her want to die.

”Donʼt, donʼt come any closer... Iʼve already been claimed,” Bai Jue said with a quivering voice.

”Heh, what, you look down on me? Think this kid is better than Tiger Master? Naïve. The kid might be better-looking than me, Tiger Master, but heʼs just Silver Spear Candle Head,” Lin Hu said, as his large hand moved towards Bai Jueʼs behind.

However, at that moment, a hand grabbed his tattooed one.

Lin Hu frowned, discovering that the person grabbing his hand was the young man next to him.

”Roll!” Lin Hu frowned and roared like a fierce tiger.

Lin Dong snorted, ”The one who should roll is you!”

”Seeking death!” Lin Hu bellowed, the veins on his arms bulging, as he threw his other fist toward Lin Dong.

”Crack~~” Lin Dong effortlessly twisted, breaking one of his arms.

”Ouch~~”

Lin Hu screamed in agony, never imagining that this young man who looked like a Silver Spear Candle Head was actually a Practitioner.

”Bang~” Lin Dong kicked him in the abdomen once more.

Instantly, Lin Huʼs nearly two-hundred-pound body was sent flying backward, crashing into the wall.

”Puh~~” Lin Hu spat out a mouthful of fresh blood, looking utterly miserable.

But even so, he gritted his teeth and threatened, ”Kid, dare to hit me, youʼre damn going to die!!”

”Hmph, the one about to die is you. Having a brain tumor without realizing, you wonʼt live past half a month!” Lin Dong sneered, ready to continue teaching Lin Hu a lesson.

However, at that moment, Bai Jue rushed over, grabbed him, and said:

”Letʼs run, Dongzi. Donʼt wait for his henchmen to arrive, then itʼs all over.”

Lin Dong wasnʼt afraid, even if more people came he wasnʼt scared.

But considering Sister Bai Jue, Lin Dong ultimately didnʼt stay any longer.

If there were too many people involved in a fight and the police got involved, getting caught wouldnʼt be good for Sister Bai Jueʼs reputation.

”Iʼll spare you for now, for my Sister Bai Jueʼs sake. Besides, you donʼt have long to live anyway.”

Saying this, Lin Dong took Sister Bai Jueʼs hand and left the place.

Elder Chen didnʼt dare to stop them, after all, they were capable of beating up Lin Hu.

After Lin Dong and Bai Jue left, Elder Chen hurriedly said: ”Tiger Master, do you want to go to the hospital for a checkup? That kid just said you have a brain tumor and wonʼt live past half a month...”

”Pop!” Lin Hu slapped her again, ”Youʼre the one with a tumor in your head!”

”Hurry up and find out all the information about that womanʼs family address; once I figure out their identities, Iʼll make sure they regret crossing me!”

Elder Chen, unable to resist and holding her face, nodded meekly.

...

After leaving the alley, Lin Dong and Sister Bai Jue flagged down a taxi on the street.

Bai Jue gave the address, and the taxi headed toward her home.

While in the taxi, Bai Jue kept her head down, not saying a word.

Lin Dong felt somewhat awkward as well.

He could tell that it was Sister Bai Jueʼs first time doing that kind of thing. By rights, she wasnʼt that kind of person; there must be some secret behind it.

However, it wasnʼt appropriate for Lin Dong to ask too many questions in the taxi.

Soon, the taxi arrived at the urban village.

After getting out, walking through the dirty and unkempt alley of the urban village, Bai Jue wiped away her tears:

”Dongzi, my and your brotherʼs house was sold by him. Now, Iʼm renting a place to live here in the urban village. Having you stay with us, Iʼm treating you shabbily.”

Lin Dong shook his head; shabby or not didnʼt concern him.

What he was curious about was, ”Sister Bai Jue, whatʼs going on? Why did Brother Jian sell your house?”

”And, Sister Bai Jue, how come you started doing that kind of work?”

Bai Jue felt extremely ashamed, with her face turning red.

Suddenly, in the dim alley, Bai Jue pushed Lin Dong against the wall.

”Dongzi, could you please stop asking? And donʼt tell anyone else, help Sister Bai Jue keep it a secret.”

”As long as you help Sister Bai Jue keep it a secret”

Buzz~~~

Pressed against the wall by Sister Bai Jue, Lin Dong felt his whole body flush...
