Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 1095: Chapter 1083: The Crashed White Dragon and the Hidden ”Karma

”Let me think... I remember you’re a liberal now, and I didn’t expect you to want to be a pirate, but isn’t it nice to take a look in the swamp? People like you who are in high positions don’t really understand the reality of this world.

Try looking at things from a different place, maybe you’ll see something new.”

Kuzan didn’t say anything yet, but the Dragon was momentarily stunned.

In the Dragon Space, the Reshiram, who was originally enjoying the show, suddenly choked on itself, while Zekrom beside it snickered.

”What’s wrong? Didn’t I say that the one chosen by the master always brings us some surprises?”

”No, you who revere ideals, you just don’t understand how much that sentence impacted me...”

That sentence shocked Reshiram almost as much as a grade schooler teaching a university professor how to solve a problem, marking one of the few shocks in its dragon life.

To deal with difficulties, or rather to delay the crisis from Kaidou, Yamato’s brain was operating in overdrive, trying to fool this Ice Substitute into taking the hit.

Outsiders would never know, or rather even Yamato herself didn’t know, to what extent her thoughts could be active in such a situation.

”Speaking of which, Zekrom, I suddenly have an idea.”

”What are you planning to do?”

”If we could turn this state into a norm, then her growth rate should double... no, maybe even more.”

”Being so proactive doesn’t seem like you, since you don’t quite acknowledge her, why are you suddenly thinking of helping her grow?”

They were once one, but after splitting, there was a huge divergence in ideology, and although they never totally opposed each other after being born here, watching the other trip up was still amusing.

Zekrom was watching for fun, not expecting Reshiram to suddenly say such a thing.

”To prevent reality from being too naive, so naive that I can’t stand it.”

”Is that so? That’s really like your personality, but this thing is quite unreal, you should have noticed that this only happens when she calculates against that old man, this father-daughter... is strange.”

”So, if everyone adopts a Kaidou mindset, then... no, that’s too weird, I can’t quite express it, as long as you understand what I mean.”

Apart from the ideological differences, the way of thinking for Zekrom and Reshiram is quite similar, and Zekrom has already understood the other’s meaning.

”This isn’t true reality, it might be hell for her, I think your approach is flawed, but the plan still has feasibility, I think we should....”

...

There are always some causalities in the mist, and Yamato didn’t know that when she was fooling Kuzan, she was also repeatedly jumping on the edge of being stabbed in the back.

Kuzan didn’t quite have the reaction of Reshiram, but he barely followed Yamato’s train of thought.

”You are part of the Hundred Beasts Pirates after all, and officially designated as the successor, both your father and godfather wouldn’t oppose your succession, so is it really okay to say that your environment is a swamp?

Bartender, another bottle... no, make it a dozen, the liquor’s running low.”

”Coming, coming, though we’re out of room temperature ones, I can only get you chilled ones.”

The tavern keeper doesn’t care about the customers’ identities, and a dozen bottles of Sherry is quite a considerable revenue, so he swiftly brought up the liquor.

Although one was a former Navy Admiral and the other a monstrous figure with a bounty exceeding 2.8 billion, the bartender didn’t recognize them.

Whether a Navy Admiral or a Great Pirate like Yamato, they were too far removed from his life, even though they filled the newspapers, he never paid attention.

He thought of himself as a simple businessman, at most topping off liquor with water.

Such people would never intersect with him in this life, he remembered a few key flags, knew the sheriff on the island, was familiar with the dock workers, and even remembered the regular drunkards.

But he had no impressions of these big names.

Only Navy, Bounty Hunters, or Underworld merchants who dealt with pirates daily would remember these people’s general features.

Sometimes, just wearing someone’s iconic attire and posing as someone else is very easy, as long as you don’t bump into acquaintances, common folk won’t notice, any facial differences make outsiders think the wanted poster is outdated, after all, people can suddenly lose weight or gain some.

Accepting the chilled liquor, Kuzan’s hand emitted a trace of chill, completing the chilling process for the drink.

What the bartender handed him indeed was ”chilled”, but this island has special circumstances, Galapagos Islands is a Winter Island, the climate is very cold, the ambient temperature here would be considered chilled outside, while the chilled ones were actually room temperature drinks kept in unpowered fridges.

”How should I put it, some places are also a swamp for me, I heard all you Navy guys have your own sense of justice, if Akainu’s justice doesn’t match with yours, why not seek justice elsewhere?

What’s that saying, people have to live in the moment.”

Championing justice wasn’t Yamato’s favorite pursuit, but fooling the Navy was an effective remedy, burning, laziness, reigning supreme, ambiguous, all the Navy high-ups had their own justice doctrines.

And this was the root of the contradiction between Akainu and Aokiji, in Aokiji’s eyes, Akainu was too radical, using any means necessary.

In Akainu’s eyes, Aokiji was too lazy, lacking enthusiasm for justice.

”Ala-ala, did I ever meet you while being drunk? Who told you these weird things...”

”No, at least you haven’t.”

”That really is a coincidence...”

Living in the present, cherishing the now, was something Karp taught Kuzan when he was learning under him.

Karp always did what he liked freely, back then Kuzan envied Karp and wanted to be like him, but in the end, he wasn’t as carefree as Karp, ascending to the rank of Admiral came with many restrictions.

Now that he has returned to freedom, he wants to experience that feeling.

”Your suggestion isn’t bad, recently I do find myself homeless, joining you temporarily doesn’t seem too bad.”

”I understand, a temporary alliance due to shared interests.”

From the start, Yamato was looking for an expendable, but even for Kuzan, any interest Kaidou might develop would be fleeting, once Kaidou loses interest in Kuzan, to Yamato he would just become an ordinary passerby, whether they turn into enemies or friends wouldn’t matter.

As for Kuzan, he wasn’t biting on Yamato’s bait of straightforwardness, plans like assassinating Kaidou or kidnapping Queen sounded enticing, but Kuzan knew clearly, the fact that she dared to make such conditions meant she was sure he wouldn’t achieve them.

More than these, he was more interested in one other issue, what he wanted to know was how exactly Yamato learned so much information about him.

Aside from this, whatever his true intentions were, no one knew, whether he left the Navy due to conflict with Akainu or the Navy’s plan, only he himself was fully aware....
