Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 1089: Chapter 1077: Double Cats, the World Government Preparing to Cover Up

Emotions can affect the heat of Torracat’s flames, and during battle, emotions can become even more intense. It’s fair to say Torracat’s abilities are born for combat.

Moreover, these emotions may not necessarily be anger, excitement, sadness, or joy—so long as they aren’t calm and waters-like, Torracat’s firepower remains unaffected.

”It’s here again! That monster is catching up!”

”Damn it, we just grabbed the treasure and now it’s gone. Are they still not satisfied? What exactly do these monsters want?!”

Jingle jingle~ jingle jingle~

While running for their lives, the pirates cursed Wolf for his attacks, and struggled to move their legs. The long-distance running sapped their stamina to the verge of collapse, yet from start to finish, they never managed to shake off the pursuers behind them.

One side consisted of fresh West Sea pirates, originally mountain bandits reigning over a few islands in the West Sea—all ordinary people without any particularly strong individuals.

However, the chaos stirred by pirates grew increasingly larger. Tempted by greed and desire, they too wanted to find the legendary treasure, thus embarking on the path of a pirate.

The other side was the Fur Race raised in the New World, naturally unique psychics with additional abilities.

According to King’s perspective, in terms of biological hierarchy, these pirates weren’t a match for Wolf and the others.

”It’s here!!”

The sound of bells was within reach, yet they had no time left to prepare, fists wrapped in flames struck the last person’s head, knocking him unconscious in a single blow.

”Stop running, we can’t outrun him! Let’s fight and see if we can deal with this guy!”

”I don’t want to go to sea, this is nothing like the pirate life I imagined... If you want to fight, go ahead, I’m not going to get myself killed!”

Some wanted to fight to the death, while others fled from the battle, but at times like this, running away alone usually only speeds up one’s demise.

Swoosh!

A vine whipped over from ahead, with three little ball-like structures at the front. Though it’s a plant, like a meteor hammer, it knocked them unconscious.

”Idiot, that monster wasn’t alone, and you dared to run off alone...”

The owner of the vine was Miaona, and the vine was Floragato’s ability. Beneath Floragato’s fur, vines were hidden, and Floragato could skillfully manipulate the vine hidden under long fur, throwing it at enemies like a yo-yo.

Moreover, the soft fur could instantly harden in battle, turning into a protective shell like steel spikes. Under the guidance and enhancement of Aura Power, Miaona’s control of the vine was more precise, and its explosive power was stronger.

”Damn it... We haven’t offended you guys, right? Why can’t you let us go!”

”Didn’t you kill people on the merchant ship before? Did they ever do you wrong?”

”Were there acquaintances of yours on it? If not, then what does their life or death have to do with you!”

”You guys...”

”Wolf, too much talking.”

The pirates being hunted couldn’t understand why these monsters targeted them. Wolf wanted to retort, but Zeraora’s voice suddenly rang in his ear.

”I understand, Dad...”

Giving up the idea of communication, Wolf’s bell on his chest rang again, and along with the spreading flames, he knocked down the opponent with exquisite body techniques, then tied them up using Miaona’s ability.

”Wolf, Miaona.

You’ll encounter many situations at sea, but once you’ve identified someone as your enemy, don’t try reasoning with them.

Speak less, act more. If you can beat them, do it; if you can’t, find a way to escape. Speaking too much may lead to mistakes, and talking too much with the enemy only gives them opportunities.”

In the first official battle with an enemy, Zeraora was doing his best to impart his knowledge, wanting his children to avoid some pitfalls.

”But Mr. Kaidou talks a lot every time he fights.”

”That’s because he’s strong enough. If you two reach our level, you can persuade them with words too. But against enemies, fists are always more effective than words.

The next stop is the Navy Branch in the West Sea. These individuals are worth hundreds of thousands of Belly, so take it as pocket money.”

Hundreds of thousands of Belly bounties are cannon fodder in the Grand Line and don’t count as notable figures in the Four Seas either.

After all, even in the weakest East Sea, the average bounty is 3 million Belly, and hundreds of thousands are far below the average line.

Zeraora chose opponents at this level simply to observe which low-level mistakes they might make in battle, as these mistakes are often the most fatal and catching them early is best.

Miaona and Wolf, both white belts, entered the Navy Branch without any issues, smoothly exchanged for their pocket money, after which Zeraora began upgrading their training.

The following battles wouldn’t involve such small fries but opponents capable of resistance.

For them, the New World was still a bit early. Zeraora lingered with them in the West Sea for a few days, then headed to the first half of the Grand Line, during which they also saw the latest news in the newspaper.

[Drought Disaster Jack]

The newspaper headline was brief, but anyone following pirate information captured what they needed from it—”Disaster” had become the exclusive designation for the Hundred Beasts High-Level Officials. Apart from the Hundred Beasts’ high-level officials, outsiders weren’t called disasters.

”Bounty of 1.329 billion Belly. Dad, Jack’s bounty is higher than yours.”

”Things like that don’t matter. Bounties shouldn’t be overly trusted, they serve as estimates at most. Queen is an example; he doesn’t possess that ability.”

Before this, Jack’s bounty had already exceeded 1 billion Belly, yet after he became a disaster, the Navy further increased his bounty. This also signaled their attitude; raising bounties indicates they are still watching him.

If the bounty stops increasing, it means the World Government has abandoned dealing with these individuals.

They might even deliberately downplay their existence to protect their reputation, much like they did with the prisoners in the sixth level of Impel Down, acting quietly.

However, this newspaper headline was special. The news only mentioned Jack’s promotion to disaster, without discussing other matters.

It’s not that the Navy was afraid to mention Hive Island, but regarding this matter, the World Government had other plans.

The first was about Law’s Seven Warlords of the Sea status; 100 pirate hearts carried significant intimidation, especially since intelligence suggests these hearts were worth at least several tens of millions of Belly.

This attitude and intimidation compelled the World Government to grant him the final position among the Seven Warlords of the Sea, as in their view, sensible pirates have been dwindling lately.

The other matter concerned Hive Island’s details.

They couldn’t report on this matter truthfully—the Pirate Mercenaries rescued the hostages while the Navy merely picked up the pieces; such words would be too embarrassing, akin to the past incidents in Divine Valley and Alabasta, where they needed to downplay the pirates and emphasize the Navy’s achievements...
