Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 1085: Chapter 1074: The Proper Use of an Undercover Agent

They’re not just pirates; they’re even stronger than the pirates on Hive Island, but they have their own rules. All the direct subordinates under these high-level officials are well aware of the deterrent force of the group rules, so they only act within the regulations.

As they spoke, the pirate transformed into a bear man; his enormous bear paw directly slapped the wall beside him, attempting to prove his earlier statement. This action resulted in him directly collapsing that wall.

”What the hell is this crappy wall.... If the walls on Ghost Island were of this poor quality, Lord Queen would definitely kill them.”

”Enough of that, don’t you know what kind of personality Lord Queen has? The walls on Ghost Island can barely be marked by cannon fire; how could they be built like this? Let’s focus on the task at hand.”

However, before they could proceed with anything, the person who hired Hundred Beasts proposed a new suggestion.

”Ladies and gentlemen, I’ll cover this cost, but I’ll deliver the payment along with the commission after we return. Is that acceptable to you?”

”Of course it’s acceptable; you’re the employer, after all. We’ll accommodate this small request.

By the way, according to your request, Lord Jack has already infiltrated the core area of Hive Island. By now, he’s likely wrapped things up. Do you want to go check it out?”

”No need, I trust your abilities. Let’s leave here quickly...”

”Alright, but let me take a few minutes of your time to recommend the escort service outside. In the New World, we can provide escort services no matter where you wish to go. Though the price is a bit high, safety is guaranteed...

These days, there are more and more pirates on the sea. In the New World, our name is even more useful than a battleship.”

The pirate maintained his form as a bear man, but it didn’t stop him from wholeheartedly promoting his pirate group’s services.

”Next time, let’s talk about it next time...”

While dealing with the pirates from Hundred Beasts, the employer of this operation also led the others out. He wasn’t doing this to be the good guy, but to establish a bit of rapport with the people he’s ”served time” with, making it easier for his future endeavors.

”Alright, you guys take them back to the ship, and you guys come with me to check on how Red Flag is doing; it’s really not good to leave him fighting alone all the time.”

Originally, they would be responsible for getting people to a safe location, but as they approached the harbor, the Navy’s battleship also appeared in their sight, giving those who were brought out an alternative thought.

They didn’t want to board a pirate ship but chose to wait in place, as the credibility of the Navy is far higher than that of pirates, even just by the name.

The pirates of Hundred Beasts didn’t care about this group; they simply went back to their own team, while the other members of the Sword Squad left the square, discovered their rescue target near the harbor, and took them back to the warship.

Coby returned a bit later than them, but upon his return to the ship, he had a large bag of still-beating hearts in hand.

...

”Coby, what happened to your chest?!”

Helmeppo looked at the hole in Coby’s chest with some panic. According to common human knowledge, a person with a large hole in their chest shouldn’t survive.

”It’s nothing, I encountered Law from the Red Heart Pirates. He....”

Coby briefly described the previous events to Helmeppo. They joined the Navy together, trained under Garp together, and despite having limited strength, shared a close comrade relationship.

”You should at least inform Vice Admiral Garp. He wouldn’t ignore something like this...”

”We’ll talk when we get back..”

Coby and Helmeppo discussed their subsequent plans in the cabin, while outside, the rescue target they ”picked up” was throwing a fit.

”Why don’t you attack! That’s a pirate ship! Are you Navy people useless? When I return, I’ll definitely have my uncle file a complaint against you!”

Watching the pirate ship from Hundred Beasts depart, the relative of the nobility was extremely displeased, continuously venting to the Navy. But the Navy chose to treat it coldly; whatever he said, they simply treated him as nonexistent.

This didn’t make him stop; instead, he escalated his condemnation of the Navy.

After a while, ordinary Navy soldiers could still bear it, but Peacock’s patience reached its limit.

”Shut up! The Navy’s actions don’t need your instructions!”

The whip cracked against the ground, and the shattered deck made him choose to shut up, which was exactly what the commanding officer of this warship was waiting for.

The relative of the World Nobility was someone he couldn’t afford to offend, but others could. Sword’s people wouldn’t fear them; once Sword’s people ran out of patience, naturally someone would make him shut up.

”Latest intel, the leader of that ship is the newly appointed Calamity of Hundred Beasts. As one of Kaidou’s high-level officials, battling them would signal the outbreak of war. Now is not the time for war. If you wish, I can arrange for a ship for you to go talk with him yourself?”

Sword has the authority to start battles at will, but if it results in something uncontrollable, they would have to resolve it themselves. They aren’t foolish and won’t take such risks; they’re very aware of the strength disparity between themselves and their enemies.

”I... I’m going to complain about you!”

”Be my guest, but for now, shut up, or the next whip will be aimed at you.”

Using one second generation to deal with another, the warship temporarily welcomed some peace.

Meanwhile, on Jack’s Steel Mammoth, ordinary pirates were celebrating victory as usual, but Jack in the cabin wasn’t happy. He had seen the photos taken by Alcremie.

”This bastard...”

Jack clenched his fist tightly, and then saw Alcremie had already brought over the Rotom Phone.

”You’re proposing that we let Big Brother Kaidou decide?”

”Maa~”

”Sounds reasonable.”

With Alcremie’s suggestion, the undercover news was sent back to Ghost Island, triggering Queen’s anger instead of Jack’s.

...

”Damn it, are these people a bit brain dead? Not CP0, then it’s the Navy; why do they have to sneak in some people?”

For his own safety, Queen has been strongly focusing on domestic security issues, with potential foreign spies being the primary concern. From the current situation, Ghost Island shouldn’t have infiltrated any other spies.

However, Drake’s appearance broke Queen’s comfort zone, causing a renewed sense of crisis to envelop him.

”Lord Arceus, how do you suggest we handle this guy?”

”Let him stay. Having a confirmed undercover agent makes some things more convenient.”

”An undercover agent with a clear identity is far more useful than an unknown one. You can use his mouth to deliver messages you want to convey, and have him handle some difficult dirty work to squeeze out any remaining value from this undercover agent.

If they dispatch one, there will be a second one, being discovered is always better than not.”
