Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 1052: Chapter 1043: Wurmple’s Evolution Line and Chaotic Seniority

Over the years, Pokémon have been in a state of expansion, and Magikarp is an example; they’ve become an omnipresent ”native species.”

In addition to the Four Seas and the Grand Line, even inland rivers and lakes now have sightings of Magikarp. However, in calmer waters, the probability of evolving into Gyarados is still low, and the overall strength remains weaker.

Aside from Magikarp, Heracross is the second Pokémon to be released on a large scale. Over the years, these Heracross have also adapted to their environment and started settling on various islands.

The vitality and adaptability of the Bug Type have already been certified. Since that’s the case, it’s time for the Pokémon numbers to continue increasing.

The first choice is still the Bug Type with stronger reproduction capabilities. Although they seem weak, their speed of integrating into nature is not slow at all.

Large butterflies appear extremely cute; their bodies are mainly black and gray, and unlike ordinary insect compound eyes, their eyes, although structurally compound, are sky-blue and full of vibrant energy.

The wings on their backs are filled with yellow patterns, along with designs in various colors, making each butterfly’s wings a rare work of art.

Butterfly Pokémon - Beautifly, appears cute but hides a fierce inner nature contrary to its looks.

The curled mouthpiece is an important tool for collecting nectar and pollen and also serves as a weapon to attack enemies.

Although its temperament is relatively aggressive, as long as you do not disturb them during feeding time, Beautifly is a very easy-going Pokémon.

They also have a greedy side. If wild Beautifly are around, they will definitely drive away all the Combee in a garden and subsequently monopolize it.

The previously mentioned Beautifly claimed to have negotiated with the Combee only because this is Wano Kuni, and Arceus still resides here, maintaining a relative harmony between different species.

As for Bisharp and Tinkaton...

This state is actually quite harmonious. These two species would encounter a life-and-death struggle in the wild.

Watching the flying butterflies, Yamato stretched out an arm. Two Beautifly sensed her intentions and landed directly on her arm.

”Are you two a pair?”

”Oh yay~”

A Beautifly with larger red dots on its wings waved its short arms, a characteristic of the species; the male’s wings have larger red patterns.

Before they could say anything, another purple Pokémon flew over.

Compared to Beautifly, its appearance isn’t conventionally appealing; its yellow compound eyes have three black dots, and the green wings on its back display patterns meant to intimidate predators.

Poison Moth Pokémon - Dustox, is actually a nocturnal Pokémon. It’s only recently appeared in the daytime in Wano Kuni because of the monsoon, which assists in their migration using the wind.

Although visually distinct, the initial forms of Dustox and Beautifly are identical, both being Wurmple.

When it reaches a sufficient level, Wurmple will randomly evolve into Cascoon and Silcoon.

Silcoon evolves into Beautifly, while Cascoon evolves into Dustox. The evolution type is completely random, another mysterious factor in Pokémon evolution.

Dustox itself is significantly more easygoing than Beautifly, but they possess the Poison Attribute, and the powder on their bodies contains toxic elements; provoking them is far more troublesome than provoking Beautifly.

After briefly interacting with them, Yamato waved them off. She still needed to prepare some matters before setting off, such as exploring the diary issue.

She still didn’t understand why Oden’s diary had such immense magic power.

Yamato herself isn’t fond of writing diaries and logbooks, opting to jot down some interesting events.

But in Wano Kuni, there really are people who specialize in writing diaries.

...

In Kuri, Yamato planned to discuss certain diary matters with Setsuna, considered the pioneer of Hundred Beasts diaries, as only she in the entire Hundred Beasts Pirate Group persisted in writing diaries untiringly.

An entire box and a drawer full of diaries are proof.

But here, Yamato encountered an unexpected Pokémon.

”Is that... Regice? What’s it doing here?”

In Zeraora’s home, she saw Regice resting in a corner. Its aura was so restrained that without careful sensing, it could easily be mistaken for a piece of Crystal Stone.

Logically, Regice contains the Extreme Cold Power, but now that chill is entirely gathered at its core, preventing any adverse effects from touching its exterior.

”It said the master hasn’t assigned it any tasks for now, so it plans to sleep here for a few months as it finds this place quite comfortable for rest.

I don’t understand its reasoning. Miaona and Wolf have noisy quarrels, giving me a headache, yet it prefers this place.”

Zeraora could not comprehend Regice’s logic, ultimately attributing it to the whims of a stone.

”Where’s Sister Setsuna?”

The hierarchy within Hundred Beasts is highly chaotic, with everyone referring to each other differently, and no one is bothered by this. There’s an abundance of big brothers and sisters.

Pirates value strength more than age; Jack, though only 26, receives the honorific of Big Brother Jack from many elders in their 40s and 50s. Sometimes, these titles have lost their original meaning.

Among them, Queen is an exception. He’s the only High-Level Official Yamato addresses as Uncle.

This is solely because he appears old and seasoned, making Queen relatively senior in Yamato’s hierarchy.

”She’s at work on Zou, but she’s off today, so she should be back soon.”

Of all the kings of Zou, Setsuna is the strongest. The unique ability to communicate with Zunisha granted by Arceus is unparalleled, making her the first to turn the throne into a job with six workdays and one off. No one but intruders can delay her clock out.

Those who do delay her... usually die a rhythmic death.

...

Soon, Setsuna returned home riding a Thousand-Year Dragon.

”It’s so annoying; those people are truly reckless. Can you believe someone actually dared to bombard Zunisha with cannons?”

As soon as she returned, Setsuna complained about her recent experience.

If Roger heralded the Great Pirate Era, we are now amidst a chaotic era. Apart from the countless new pirates pouring into The Sea, the heavy convicts who’ve escaped Impel Down pose another problem.

Blackbeard has perished, but many prisoners from Level 6 remain at large. These individuals possess power, and it seems their prolonged imprisonment has made them oblivious to fear.

”Their courage is truly impressive.”

”Not just impressive, but foolish; they seem to want Lindbergh’s whereabouts and plan to negotiate with the World Government using him, not realizing their capabilities.”
