Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 1068: Chapter 1059: The Giants’ Nemesis and the Singing Skeleton

Gerd was muttering to herself, and Robin had no idea what she was saying. For a giant seventeen meters tall, Robin seemed too insignificant. If Robin didn’t use her abilities, even if she tapped Gerd’s foot, she wouldn’t feel it.

”Gerd? Gerd? What’s wrong with you?”

The giant next to Gerd saw her staring blankly, reached out and nudged her shoulder, only then did she react. She put down the axe in her hand and picked up a large medical kit and walked over.

Elbaf’s Spear is the inheritance of the Elbaf Giant Kingdom. However, over years of development, different giants use Elbaf’s Spear with distinct variations, evolving into different schools like Fishman Karate.

Yamato’s Elbaf’s Spear is inherited from Kaidou, and Kaidou learned from Charlotte Linlin. It can be said that it’s passed down in a single line, and Gerd was also present when Charlotte Linlin was learning this move in the Giant Country.

She was Charlotte Linlin’s childhood friend. Before Charlotte Linlin succumbed to Anorexia Nervosa, they considered themselves good friends.

The opportunity for outsiders to learn the Giant Race’s inherited moves is extremely rare. Yamato’s moves bear a slight resemblance to Charlotte Linlin’s, which aroused some suspicions in Gerd.

Yet, before figuring out the details, she still had to check on her companion.

”Hajrudin, how are you?”

”Still alive... But the gap... It’s too wide...”

Among the young giants, Hajrudin was considered outstanding. Unexpectedly, he faced a crushing defeat shortly after leaving the Giant Country, and it was a complete knockout.

”Sorry, sorry, I thought with such a big build you’d be very resilient, didn’t expect you to be so weak... Ah, no, I didn’t mean that, I mean I didn’t mean to use that strength, I overestimated... no, I mean...”

”Cough cough, Ghost Princess, no need to say more, I understand what you mean.”

If Yamato continued speaking, Hajrudin might really be done for.

”Elbaf respects strength. Your power is strong enough. Logically, I should keep my word, but there’s an issue. What is your relationship with that demon Charlotte Linlin?”

Hajrudin and Gerd were also childhood playmates. He had also seen Charlotte Linlin, and even the observing Gerd could see it, not to mention him in battle.

”Demon?”

”61 years ago, I was only 12 years old. That year was when Elbaf first encountered Linlin. She was extraordinarily gifted, and at five years old she already displayed a terrifying talent, so the elders allowed her to learn with us.

But during the Winter Solstice festival’s twelve-day fasting period....”

Gerd recounted events from years ago, helping Yamato understand why the entire Giant Country rejected Charlotte Linlin.

”Originally the marriage was an opportunity to break the deadlock, but Linlin’s daughter chose to flee from the wedding. Although Prince Loki wasn’t angry, he was very hurt, further decreasing Linlin’s reputation in Elbaf.

Giants who venture out can join any force but must not have direct ties to Charlotte Linlin, otherwise they will be expelled from the Giant Race.”

Elbaf wasn’t so insane as to refuse all indirect connections. If that were the case, the Underworld in the New World would have to completely sever ties, causing great loss to Elbaf without newspapers and maritime transport.

Thus, their prohibition is against joining the BIG MOM Pirates and having any associations with Charlotte Linlin’s relatives; otherwise, it’s not much.

”No real relationship, just some deals. According to foster father’s words, we might be enemies someday, but currently, there’s no major conflict between our pirate crews.”

Gerd and Hajrudin exchanged glances, also acknowledging each other’s decision.

”We are willing to become mercenaries under you, but we cannot undertake any tasks that approach Charlotte Linlin.”

”Task... hold on a minute, Robin! Who’s responsible for our tasks, again?”

Due to the impact of strength, the New Giant Soldier Pirates changed their work companies, and under Yamato’s banner became external mercenaries for the Hundred Beasts, though these giants had some doubts about this young lady’s thought activities.

For the Hundred Beasts, this was just a painless personnel supplement, but for some emerging companies, it was a heavy blow.

”Hey, Buggy.”

”Isn’t this Mr. 3? Why are you still wearing that? Those giants are coming soon, don’t let them look down on us.”

Bearing up his body with a cloak, Buggy was swaggering before his underlings.

He knew his worth and had to use such ways to increase his intimidation.

”That’s what I wanted to say. Those giants said they’ve found a better place to go, so apologies for the previous matter. They said if there’s a chance, we can cooperate again.”

”What?! Which bastard dares to snatch my business! Who is it?!”

”Forget about it, Buggy...”

”3, times have changed, now I’m also one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea! Everyone, there’s...”

”It’s Hundred Beasts.”

”Does anyone want to have a drink?”

Buggy forcibly held back his words; this one couldn’t be offended. It was inevitable that future employees were poached away.

...

After recruiting a batch of new employees, Yamato and Robin also replanned their itinerary, but she wasn’t the only one recruiting.

Following Yamato recruiting the Giant Race, Queen recruiting pleasure-seekers, Tesoro also embarked on seeking new people.

To be precise, he was merely conducting a team-building activity.

When the Summit War erupted, he initially thought the Hundred Beasts Fruit would suffer a major blow, but the development of events turned out completely unexpected for him.

Considering the strength of Kaidou and infatuation with the ”immortality medicine,” the World Government tacitly allowed the existence of the Hundred Beasts Fruit.

Afterward, they focused on the Hundred Beasts Fruit and Medicine Department. During this period, the medicine department experienced many agents being dug out, and some infiltrators mixed in, indirectly escalating the work intensity of Who’s-Who.

As the aftermath of the Summit War gradually faded, Cavendish made his debut. After nearly a year and a half of practice and a handsome appearance, he smoothly rose to fame, becoming the new star in the entertainment department.

And he began to enjoy this feeling of being in the spotlight; to him, being a celebrity seemed far more delightful than being a pirate. This team building was also to celebrate his successful debut, though he was not fond of the venue.

”I mean, we have plenty of funds, right? Why did we come to the Tianakena Kingdom? Apart from the Long-armed Race, there’s really nothing special here?”

The Tianakena Kingdom is located on Sword Mountain Island in the Grand Line, the hometown of the Long-armed Race, and similarly a relatively closed nation, lacking understanding and knowledge about the outside world.

”There’s nothing special about it, but it is said there’s a singing skeleton here. I think this image is quite suitable for filling our vacancy.”
