Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 49: Chapter 49: Someone Who Gets Nauseous at the Sight of Fruit

Elizabeth switches between two forms, which is the biggest difference between transformed animals and humans. They only have their original form and Pokemon form, without the mixed beast form.

This is probably why the energy consumption is lower. Additionally, permanent transformation would consume less energy, while creating from thin air would consume more.

Inteleon, Special Agent Pokemon, Water-type Three Starter in the Galar Region.

The water of Water-type Pokemon generally comes from external moisture, and each Water-type Pokemon has its own unique water storage organ and conversion method.

In a waterless environment, water molecules in the air can also be converted into water through special means. This includes their stamina being converted as well, but with a few exceptions, the habitats of Water-type Pokemon are usually close to water bodies.

Storing and utilizing external water is the most common way, as controlling existing waves is much easier than creating a giant wave on their own.

PYROBROIN particles exist in every corner of this world, so the water generated by Water-type Pokemon here will also be somewhat suppressed by these particles against Fruit Ability Users.

Arceus is the only exception. He can create pure water without PYROBROIN particles through the Splash Plate, allowing even Ability Users to experience swimming again.

The eyes of Inteleon feature a special membrane with extremely unique abilities that help Inteleon locate the opponent’s weakness.

Its back has a special wing membrane, allowing Inteleon to glide for short distances, and its tail conceals blade-like structures. Of course, its greatest ability is its innate Sniper talent.

Theoretically, Inteleon can shoot stored water from its fingers at three times the speed of sound, though Elizabeth may not reach that speed. However, high-speed water bullets are deadly to most.

Even for Ability Users, if they can’t freeze or evaporate seawater, they would be helpless against Elizabeth. Water-type Pokemon have a natural advantage against Ability Users.

However, the most important point is that when animals transform into Pokemon, their intelligence significantly improves. Inteleon is considered highly intelligent among Pokemon, and Elizabeth is developing in a completely different direction.

”Olga, you might try teaching it to speak in the future.”

”Teaching it to speak... Actually, I tried that over a hundred years ago...” Back when stuck inside the belly of a Sea King, Olga found it pretty boring, so she tried. While Elizabeth could understand her words, she couldn’t speak human language.

”It’s different now.”

Team Rocket’s Meowth was originally just an ordinary Meowth, but the power of love miraculously taught him to walk upright and speak human language. Theoretically, if there’s enough determination, it’s not impossible for a Pokemon to learn human speech.

Excluding Divine Beasts, Phantom Beasts, the specially shaped Rotom, and the long-lived Gastly at Maiden Gorge, being able to speak human language isn’t unique. With proper teaching, it should be possible to learn over time.

Looking at the fingers in her new form, which resembled a human’s, Elizabeth began to study her abilities and attempted to practice her Sniper skills.

The results weren’t very satisfying, as the speed of her water bullets was far from the recorded three times the speed of sound.

Being a newly formed ”Sniper,” Elizabeth still couldn’t control this ability well. In her Snake Monster Lizard form, her hands were more like auxiliary tools, with the main muscles developing in the lower body.

Currently, she had difficulty handling the recoil caused by ”sniping,” leading her to accidentally misfire when aiming at the sea.

”Gulp...”

Queen, who was just climbing the stairs beside, swallowed his saliva as he watched the water bullet hitting beside the railing, feeling a chill below his waist.

Due to his height, the railing Elizabeth hit was almost level with Queen’s waist. If it had been a bit to the left, Queen might have considered prosthetic enhancement.

”Murder! Are you trying to murder me? What is this blue lizard creature?”

If it weren’t for Arceus being there, he might’ve rushed to grab Olga by the collar and demand answers, but Arceus managed to keep him in check.

”Queen, you’re in the way.” Kaidou pushed Queen from behind, his shoulder seen with water stains, indicating that the water bullet had later hit him. However, its current power wasn’t enough to harm him.

In her transformed form, Elizabeth naturally came into his view. Although the form had changed significantly, he still noticed the saddle on Elizabeth’s back.

”That lizard, huh? Your ability applications are truly vast.”

Kaidou found that he had underestimated Arceus’s ability, realizing that its applications were broader than he had imagined.

”There’s still much to explore. Why have you all come up here?”

”Found something interesting.” He tossed a fruit to Olga.

”Catch it, kid.” A white fruit traced an arc through the sky, landing precisely into Olga’s hand.

”Huh?” Looking at the white melon in her hand, Olga was puzzled.

”The Sea’s Tresure, Devil Fruit. You should know what this is, right? There are quite a few Ability Users on this ship. This one is a Dog-Dog Fruit, but its exact type is unknown. You can gamble on what kind of ability it provides.

But don’t worry much, because with Lord Arceus present, even the worst-case scenario would still result in an ability comparable to a Phantom Beast type.”

Queen explained the fruit types nearby. An unknown type of Devil Fruit is indeed a challenge, although the fruit’s future depends on development levels.

However, fruits do vary in strength. If one can develop an ordinary ability to its ultimate strength, then with a stronger ability, the ceiling would naturally be higher.

Before Arceus appeared, ordinary Zoan types held the lowest status among Devil Fruits. The enhanced physical boost from animal transformations couldn’t initially compare to Paramecia-type and Logia-type abilities. Only after a certain degree of physical training could the Zoan enhancement cause a qualitative change.

But with Arceus, things changed. Arceus doesn’t have the intention of direct transformation either. If an unknown Zoan type itself is of the Phantom Beast class, then ordinary transformation becomes inappropriate and requires careful preparation.

”What’s wrong? You seem hesitant. Not interested in becoming an Ability User?”

”No, it’s just that I’ve heard... this thing tastes particularly bad, and after eating fruit for over a hundred years, honestly, I feel like vomiting at the sight of fruits now...”
