Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 32: Chapter 32: All Kids Are Afraid of Injections

Queen’s praise for Asie incited Olga’s anger, in her eyes, pure gold was the root of all misfortune.

”Olga!! Is that you, Olga! Thank goodness you’re alive!”

Asie was very excited to see Olga, but Olga didn’t feel the same way. Over a hundred years had passed, and she had so many questions she wanted to ask her father, questions that were never answered back then.

”Why, why did you make such a thing!? It’s what brought those pirates! Speak up! Why won’t you say anything!”

”I never want to see pure gold again!” As she spoke, she took off the ring on her hand, intending to throw it into the sea—this action finally prompted a reaction from the silent Asie.

”No, stop! Olga, stop it!”

Olga indeed hadn’t dared to do such a thing before, because the pure gold ring would attract that massive Sea King Type called Lord Lantern, but now, that Sea King Type could no longer keenly locate the pure gold.

Moreover, this ring was once her only memento, and now that Asie was alive, the outcome was different.

With his overweight body that hadn’t exercised much over the years, Asie’s movements were a bit sluggish; he could only watch as the ring flew farther away, but in mid-air, Queen’s mechanical grappling claw flew out and recaptured the ring.

Olga said she never wanted to see pure gold again, and then threw the ring. Doesn’t that prove the ring contains pure gold?

”Don’t waste it, it’s something good. Mr. Arceus, Vegapunk once proposed a hypothesis.”

”What?”

”If we could discover the elemental composition of your Plate and add a sufficiently unique core metal, we might be able to create a machine to analyze the power of the Plate. The principle is not really complicated, and with enough equipment, I could manufacture it.

With some modification, it might even detect the signal of the Plate.

And since the Plate belongs to you, you must be well aware of its composition. If things go smoothly, we should be able to create a related device.”

”Is pure gold that kind of special metal?”

”Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t. Vegapunk has already experimented with most substances, but they didn’t work. This legendary pure gold might just do it.”

Vegapunk is a genius, his technology is even five hundred years ahead of today, but future technology might not be able to replicate ancient things. Everyone has their own area of expertise, and Vegapunk can’t do much in the manufacturing of pure gold.

He’s a genius, but not an all-knowing being; there are things he can’t do or isn’t good at.

Queen isn’t sure if it can be made either, he just voiced a thought from back then.

But Arceus won’t pass up any possibility, if Queen’s hypothesis could be realized, then in the future, they could search for Plates on two fronts, speeding up the collection process.

And the reason Queen is so eager is mainly to see if Arceus has any method of making bananas ripen faster; having them ripen twice a year is too torturous.

Queen has been hinting about this matter for a long time, and Arceus sees what he wants.

”Once you make the thing, I’ll improve this aspect of power.”

Wanting Tropius’s bananas to accelerate in growth, then only the ”Harvest” ability will do, and when it comes to abilities, a small activation is needed.

After all, Queen has long consumed a Devil Fruit and underwent a product of random mutation, which differs from Shaina and King’s method of power acquisition.

Their abilities are more complete, but still require development.

”Um, if you need pure gold I can help you make it, but can you return that ring to me first?”

His tone seemed nervous, leading anyone to believe he was up to something.

”Ha? You idiot dad, you still want to make such a thing! Without the equipment of the entire island and mom’s help, you can’t even.. oo.” Asie covered her mouth, but it was a bit late.

”To be honest, I hate it most when people lie in front of me.”

”I really can make pure gold again, but I need time, manpower, equipment, materials, all the original data was destroyed, everything has to start from scratch.” He hadn’t touched equipment for over a hundred years, while the knowledge remained, it had become quite rusty.

”As for that ring...”

Asie looked at Olga, then revealed the truth.

”Olga is suffering from an incurable disease, the reason I researched manufacturing pure gold was to use its power to suppress the progression of her illness. Without the pure gold on that ring, Olga’s body wouldn’t last long.”

This stopped Olga’s struggling actions, she had never thought of that, Asie’s research on pure gold was actually for her.

Back when his wife passed away, Asie was more heartbroken than anyone, but in front of his daughter, he had to stay calm, not letting her know the truth to prevent her from putting pressure on herself.

The following development is a segment of deep affection between father and daughter, even Olga became nervous. These people were pirates, and to ordinary people, pirates were not a good thing.

Even though she was treated as an intern on the ship, it was the same, her goal was to find a chance to escape.

Would pirates consider other things once they’ve set their eyes on something?

”What illness does she have?”

Since it was about alleviating the illness, the illness itself had to be resolved first. According to Queen, pure gold was just a core; other issues could be solved first, and the core components installed afterward.

They hadn’t even found John yet, so he could wait a bit longer, the main point was that Kaidou had taken a liking to this bold little girl, and Arceus had taken a liking to Asie’s technology.

Science and technology are the first productive forces, if he could create even pure gold, manufacturing some simple things shouldn’t be a problem.

”South Sea Emperor Heat, originating from the South Sea, it’s a terminal illness even a king of a country would find incurable...”

”South Sea Emperor Heat?”

”Yeah, that’s why I’m saying...”

”That’s no terminal illness, it was conquered many years ago.”

Hearing the ailment, Queen spoke disdainfully. He is, after all, a virus expert, and the South Sea Emperor Heat virus didn’t even count as a disease in his eyes.

After all, it had been overcome many years ago, and the treatment plan had been released. This shows that living long has its advantages; what was incurable a hundred years ago becomes curable a hundred years later.

Saying this, he went back to the ship cabin and used the drugs on the patrol ship to make an injection.

”Alright, with this injection, the illness will be cured. I’m a professional in this area.”

Then, he saw the brave little girl who dared to hijack Kaidou, ran away without hesitation at the sight of the syringe.

”No way, I’m scared of needles the most!”
