Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 5: Chapter 5: King

From their words, it was evident that explosions frequently occurred in that direction, to the point where the locals had become accustomed to them. Kaidou landed in the uninhabited area of the island and did not attract much attention. However, once they entered the town, they caught the eye of several people.

It wasn’t because of the bounty and identity. Except for being pirates themselves or being closely related to pirates, such as the Navy and bounty hunters, ordinary people couldn’t recognize all the pirates unless the person’s fame was widespread.

Although Kaidou had already made a name for himself, he wasn’t yet known by everyone.

However, the group’s appearance was anything but normal. Although this world had many people with peculiar physiques, people with normal builds were still the majority. Naturally, someone like Kaidou, a little giant, would attract attention. Besides Kaidou’s significantly different physique, there were also the wings on the backs of Abel and Shaina.

The flames could be temporarily extinguished, but the wings couldn’t be retracted, so they had to cloaked in large black robes, hiding their faces. Coupled with Arceus’s unique appearance, the group was quite noticeable.

”Abel, you’re strong enough; from now on, you can call yourself ’King.’ Your original identity will eventually become a hassle, attracting unnecessary trouble.”

The World Government’s bounty on the Lunarians had never ceased. Just reporting their whereabouts could earn a huge reward, and the Lunarians’ characteristics were too obvious. Walking ostentatiously in the streets would invite endless trouble.

This was true for both Abel himself and Kaidou; the Lunarian identity needed to be concealed.

Speaking of which, he also looked at Shaina.

”I want the three strongest individuals to become my most powerful force, known as the ’Three Disasters,’ the top commanders. We’re still one short, how about you take this position?”

Arceus listened to this title and looked at Abel. With his abilities of burning flames and black wings, he was indeed the future King of the Three Disasters of the Hundred Beasts Pirates. However, only some growth was needed, as it seemed he would become much taller in the future.

But Shaina...no matter how you look at it, wouldn’t be the famous Copator.

”Indeed, in Shaina’s case, she should have already been dead,” he said. At that time, he used the power of the plate to supplement Shaina’s life force; otherwise, she wouldn’t have lasted until now.

Moreover, from the previous battle in the research institute, it could be seen that Shaina’s strength was no less than Abel’s, a name like Jack could bear it, but Shaina did not accept this title.

”Thank you for saving Abel, but the one who truly saved my life is the Lord Holy Beast. Whether it was during the Lunarians’ offering or now, I will only obey the Lord Holy Beast.”

”That’s really a pity....” One moment he was sighing, and the next, Kaidou suddenly burst into tears unexpectedly. It seemed that the consecutive recruitment failures had caused considerable emotional fluctuation, but it also strengthened his determination to bring Arceus into his group.

The terrifying firepower combined with another talented young man left him extremely eager.

At this time, Kaidou seemed uncontrollable, exuding his aura, causing people around to distance themselves from this ”madman,” leaving the street empty with no more gazes looking their way.

Shaina did not take a code name similar to ”King,” as the probability of the name exposing her identity was small. There were still many people in this world, and many shared the same name, with several doppelgängers around. As long as the features were hidden, the other matters were manageable.

Wings and flames were remarkable, but there were ways to hide them, such as Devil Fruits. Their bizarre abilities were the best means to conceal distinctive features.

Flying Zoans were enough to cover the wing problem, and as for flames, the Flame-Flame Fruit wasn’t uncommon; many could manipulate fire.

As the passersby were scared away by Kaidou’s aura, a single figure stood out on the empty street.

Tall and plump, he appeared round, with a mechanically modified prosthetic left hand, sunglasses, purple lip gloss, a golden braid on his head, golden mustaches on his mouth, and a golden scorpion braid behind his head.

He was the person Kaidou came to find, the future top commander of the Hundred Beasts Pirates, Plague Disaster-Queen.

Queen was here because of his previous identity; a few hours ago, he was a member of MADS.

MADS was a mad research group, led by the genius Vegapunk, said to be 500 years ahead of the world.

MADS was recently an illegal organization, but it had now been incorporated, conducting some research projects under the World Government’s orders.

Arceus and his group had previously been in a research institute where MADS was conducting research.

At this time, MADS members had their own thoughts. They were scientists who gathered to research more things, some of whom could be considered madmen.

But the World Government valued only Vegapunk and didn’t intend to absorb all the group members. MADS could be said to have disbanded, with Vegapunk led by CP to Mary Geoise to discuss the specifics, which was why the institute’s defense force was relatively weak.

Kaidou’s escape was partly due to Queen, who released Kaidou from the restraints in the research institute.

The disbandment of MADS meant that its members naturally sought new paths. For instance, Vinsmoke Judge planned to return to the North Sea to revive the Germa Kingdom, with old forces to rely on behind him.

Vegapunk had the World Government as support, and Queen saw Kaidou’s potential. MADS members had various strengths, like Judge in bloodline factor research and Queen in viruses.

Such research couldn’t rely on a single person, so Queen released Kaidou, stating that if Kaidou could successfully escape, he should come here to find him.

Even without Queen, Kaidou could escape, but he saw Abel and stayed longer. The device binding him didn’t use Seastone, as few knew he was a Devil Fruit user at that time.

Before joining the Rocks Pirates, he had been captured multiple times, and at that time, he didn’t have a Devil Fruit. His fruit was given to him by Charlotte Linlin after the dissolution of the Rocks Pirates in the Divine Valley War, marking his first capture after the Divine Valley event.

To be precise, he was hungry, wanting to find a buffet restaurant, which led him to be captured. It wasn’t the first time, and he was very familiar with the process.

Vegapunk had drawn his blood, but before he could analyze it, he left with the samples.

Although Vegapunk would later create the first artificial Devil Fruit using Kaidou’s blood, that was for future research, not at this moment.

This was his first time openly using his abilities, and although the research institute had been completely destroyed under Judgment, the news had probably already spread.

”Yo, you managed to escape; it looks like I’ll have to call you Brother Kaidou from now on.”
