Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 27: Chapter 27: Kaidou Can’t Swim

The only thing that could make him feel this way, besides the plate, was nothing else. However, his emotions were laced with anger because he sensed that the aura was moving, indicating that something had stolen his plate.

He had a range of control over the plate, and now this plate was within his perception range, but not yet within control range.

”Kaidou, get up and get to work!”

”What’s wrong?”

”I sensed the aura of the plate, it’s right on the sea, and that guy is wandering in the nearby sea area.”

Kaidou, who had his Observation Haki fully activated, did not perceive anything. His Observation Haki was not focused on range; the perception range was just average. At this time, he had a new understanding of Arceus’s perception ability.

But this didn’t affect his actions. Transforming into a giant dragon, he took Arceus straight to the sky, flying toward the direction indicated by Arceus. Shaina and the others still hadn’t figured out what was happening.

Kaidou and Arceus’s figures had long disappeared. Queen was still engrossed in modifying the ship; the power device was about to be installed.

He now needed subordinates more than Kaidou did, urgently requiring someone with a lower status to do odd jobs.

On the whole ship, there was no one he could order, and due to technical issues, he was simultaneously serving as the ship’s doctor, boatman, helmsman, scientific researcher, fighter, odd-jobber, and musician, only the kitchen was taken over by Shaina.

Initially, the kitchen was under Queen’s management, but he was a complete sweet tooth, making lots of overly sweet mochi red bean soup, so Shaina replaced him.

Shaina and King were outside the ship installing the outer wheel, overhearing Arceus’s voice and seeing Kaidou directly take off.

”We are still too weak....”

If King’s mind was slightly twisted, thus venting emotions through interrogation, then Shaina was slightly better, but her target for exerting pressure was herself.

”Weakness is the original sin,” this was her new understanding. As long as they are strong enough, they wouldn’t have to just run away and could pull down those sitting on the throne.

But now she was too weak to be of more help to Arceus, only able to watch them do everything by themselves.

”We will grow stronger, we have time, and we have the sacred beast as support. Back then, even before the sacred beast hatched, it could empower the clansmen, let alone today.”

”That’s because of the sacred beast’s plate. Speaking of which, where on earth is the plate we lost back then?”

”The plate was lost long before we were born, but if I remember correctly, Brother Avanisha said that the plate wasn’t lost, just hidden on a sea island. It’s just that everyone who knew has died... I only know that it seems to be an island with a lot of gold.”

”Yeah, but Brother Avanisha also heard it from Grandpa... a golden island, that’s too broad.”

Due to the threat from the World Government, they had no fixed abode. Back then, the Lunarians Race’s escape routes spread across the Four Seas and the Grand Line, with no place being safe; relocations were the norm.

One of the most peculiar features of the Grand Line is the ever-changing climate and island cultures. One island might be technologically advanced like Future Island, while the next might be filled with dinosaurs like Ancient Island.

The changes of spring, summer, autumn, and winter show no pattern, and as for a lot of gold, what is it compared to? This remains a question.

”Let’s finish modifying the ship first, finding that John is the most critical thing.”

”Hmm.”

The two of them lifted massive outer wheels, starting the reinforcement around the ship’s hull.

At this moment, Kaidou was also flying aimlessly over the Windless Zone’s sea under the guidance of Arceus.

”To the east... about two kilometers, no, that guy changed direction, now it’s to the south... Damn it, ran to the north again, don’t let me catch this damn thief.”

The target he was pursuing was running around aimlessly, and not slow either, only after a long chase did Kaidou catch up, but the target had not stopped. After a chase, that thing finally stopped, and Arceus and Kaidou arrived directly above it.

The sky had completely darkened by now, and the sea surface of the Windless Zone was completely black. When Kaidou lowered altitude, the sea surface was still vast and empty.

”Could you have mistaken it?”

”Impossible, it’s just below, but it’s underwater...”

”Underwater... This is the Windless Zone, the only thing below could be the nest of the Sea King Type creatures. What you’re looking for couldn’t have been... eaten by them, right?”

This particular product of The Sea, the Sea King Type, these underwater colossal monsters have commonly huge sizes of dozens of meters, and thousand-meter colossal Sea King Types also exist, possessing great intelligence along with their huge bodies.

The ability of the Sea King Poseidon, one of the three Ancient Weapons, is to control these colossal Sea King Types. Although for strong individuals, the Sea King Type is not difficult to deal with—their huge bodies are just big targets.

But for ordinary people and fleets, these Sea King Types can bring catastrophic disasters.

Colossal Sea King Types can even directly eat islands as food, swallowing entire islands whole.

And while those people may not fear the Sea King Type, it’s contingent upon the Sea King Type themselves surfacing. In the deep sea, no one dares face off against colossal Sea King Types; their pride-filled ships are just toys in the eyes of these giants.

Not everyone has Jack’s courage, daring to engage in face-offs despite the daunting difference in size.

Five years have passed, and with the support of the Mythical Fruit, Kaidou had become much stronger compared to when he was an intern on Rocks’s ship, but he still had a clear understanding of himself.

Although his vitality was extremely tenacious, The Sea was his forbidden zone. As a Devil Fruit user, sinking to the bottom still left him helpless, and if the Sea King Type creatures always stayed in their nest, he had no recourse.

”No worries, this thing has already entered my control range, let’s land over there first.”

The Windless Zone merely lacks wind, not islands. Some islands within the Windless Zone are rich in resources; it’s just highly dangerous to enter and exit them.

But solutions are more than hurdles; Nine Serpent Island relies on its venomous sea snakes to enter and exit the Windless Zone safely.

However, the island Kaidou was landing on now had no humans living on it, it was just an ordinary deserted island.

Having entered his control range, Arceus began calling the plate back to its rightful place.

The depth of The Sea is not uniform; the seabed is inherently uneven, with the Fishman Island located ten thousand meters under the sea, and other areas touching bottom at a mere thousand meters. At about three thousand meters below, the water began to grow murky, with something starting to rise.

In the dark deep sea, a dazzling golden light began to illuminate.
