Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 31: Chapter 31: The Genius from Over 100 Years Ago

”The same scent? Are you sure?”

”Ah!”

It’s normal for strange things to drift onto the sea. Pirates only pick up things they’re interested in; items like this strange unknown creature are usually left alone.

However, Elizabeth told Arceus that she smelled a familiar scent on something below. The genetic composition of the Snake Monster Lizard is quite complex, and as a reptile, they have an exceptionally developed sense of smell, capable of capturing scent molecules in the air.

She detected a scent similar to Olga’s on it.

But others would just hear random noises, only Arceus could understand what Elizabeth was actually saying.

”King, get that thing below up here.”

”Yes.”

King spread his wings and leapt from the ship’s side, grabbing the unknown creature floating on the sea.

Beneath the dragon outerwear was a raggedly dressed golden-haired man, full of stubble, with a bloated figure, seemingly having been soaked in water for too long.

”Olga, Elizabeth says this unknown creature carries your scent. Do you know him?”

”Eh? But I don’t know him. Lord Holy Beast, you can understand Elizabeth?”

In the past few hours, Shaina gave Olga a simple ideological indoctrination. In summary, she should listen to Kaidou, but her usual demeanor towards him didn’t matter; he wouldn’t care anyway.

Consider her and King as her brother and sister, they’re not hard to get along with, and she can ignore that fat idiot Quinn. If he causes trouble, she should just find her.

Arceus is Lord Holy Beast and must be respected. Disrespecting Arceus would result in no good outcome, and that last point should be emphasized.

Her intelligence isn’t in question; surviving a solitary environment with just a lizard for over a hundred years without going insane is testament to her resilience. Even adults stranded on deserted islands for over a decade might not endure such solitude.

It’s just that without anyone around, she didn’t have any models to learn from or reference, so her mental state remained at that time, with the temperament of a child.

Being the same gender, they got along quite well, and Olga’s habit of not being able to keep things to herself was something Shaina could easily understand.

”Understanding what she says isn’t hard, Elizabeth insists she didn’t mistake the scent.” Arceus said, eyeing the unknown creature once more to verify Elizabeth’s claim.

In terms of smell and perception, he’s far superior to these Snake Monster Lizards, but he has little interest in unidentified floating objects at sea.

This is just a side character in the theater. Arceus’s time spent sleeping within the egg far exceeds her time inside a Sea King’s stomach; it’s normal not to remember such things.

”Could it be... this guy is my bastard father?”

After over a hundred years, although he still lived due to the pure gold’s radiance within Master Lantern’s body, his appearance changed significantly, and Olga didn’t recognize him.

”Isn’t he dead?”

Her feelings toward her father are complex. He is her only relative, yet he caused her mother’s death, bringing about Master Lantern.

At this moment, the unknown creature also opened his eyes. Finding himself still alive, he couldn’t help but feel a bit emotional.

He was swallowed into a Sea King’s stomach, ending up on an island in another of its stomachs, inhabited by numerous dinosaurs. To survive, he disguised himself as a dinosaur hatchling, surviving on meat without any vegetables or fruits for over a century.

This was the complete opposite of Olga’s diet of only vegetables and fruits with no meat.

After the Sea King was defeated, he escaped through a hole punched through the Sea King, and fortunately, he didn’t drown, drifting here successfully.

”Hey, can’t you all start the paddle wheels or something! Does everything on this ship have to be done by me, damn it! Kid, an intern should at least do something!”

After all this time, the paddle wheels haven’t started, and Quinn walked out with an annoyed expression. After all, there was someone on the ship he could order around, or so he thought, then he noticed another person on the deck.

Once he left the dinosaur nest, he naturally removed his dinosaur outerwear. Olga carried pure gold, so her clothes remained the same as they were, but he was only affected by the pure gold’s light, so his clothes became tattered.

The Sea King’s favorite food was pure gold; even its bait was evolved from pure gold, with its intense light even illuminating its inside.

The most intact thing on him was his belt, and the text on the belt, as well as the patterns on Olga’s skirt, caught Quinn’s attention.

When Olga first appeared, it was still dark, and he hadn’t noticed the details on her dark skirt, but now he discovered something crucial.

”This pattern... Alkemi, you folks are from Alkemi Island? But wasn’t that island a legendary one that disappeared over a hundred years ago?

Don’t look at me, I don’t really know much about this. However, this matter is somewhat related to Mr. Arceus; back then, even Vegapunk couldn’t analyze the elements composing your plate.

In this regard, Alkemi’s technology was top-notch, so the research institute was full of documents on Alkemi, which is how I recognized it.”

”Ah, indeed, I’m from Alkemi. My name is Asie, Myskina Asie.”

”You’re truly still alive, unbelievable.”

”Am I famous?” ℯℯ𝘭.

”Of course you are! Even that guy Vegapunk admired your talent in material science and mineralogy. You were the genius who created ’pure gold’!”

The people from the MADS Research Institute didn’t acknowledge each other, all believing themselves to be the geniuses, equally talented compared to Vegapunk. There’s only one kind of person they would praise in public: the deceased.

Praising deceased predecessors isn’t a big deal, and Asie belonged to this category. In the eyes of anyone who knew him, he was already dead, especially since even Alkemi Island was gone.

Otherwise, the World Government would have taken him long ago. Pure gold was reputed to be a metal capable of buying the world since the Celestial Dragons would stop at nothing to obtain it.

Pure gold could significantly slow biological growth, in other words, it’s a treasure that grants eternal youth. Over a hundred years have passed, yet Olga remained unchanged, driving those in power to madness.

But pure gold attracted super-large Sea King Type attacks, resulting in the entire island being consumed, so this material was always just a legend.

”What kind of genius scientist is he? He’s just a bastard! Pure gold shouldn’t exist in this world!”
