Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 35: Chapter 35: The Hundred Beasts’ Future Style

After Pokemon abilities take form, the original skills will gradually awaken with the user’s ”fruit development” progress, and Arceus can speed up this process, or allow them to learn some skills that they cannot learn naturally, needing a Move Machine to master.

Sword Dance is one such skill. Compared to those original damage-type skills, in this realistic world, combat is neither turn-based nor has specific damage values; inherent enhancement to one’s own attack power is the most effective thing.

If skills like Sword Dance can be taught widely, the style of the Hundred Beasts in the future might change greatly. While cadres of other pirate groups are throwing harsh words before a battle, the people of Hundred Beasts could be awkwardly dancing together.

Of course, this is an exaggerated statement; teaching Sword Dance isn’t like teaching ballroom dancing hand in hand. The Blank Plate surfaced, and a power belonging to Arceus entered Shaina’s mind.

Afterwards, her consciousness entered a special space, where a phantom identical to herself appeared in front of her, mechanically repeating an action, and the functioning of the power was displayed before her.

This is a special learning space, everything here is unrelated to the outside world. When Arceus individually imparts a skill, the consciousness is drawn into this space. This is the power he regained after the Dread Plate restored some strength.

Otherwise, he should have taught them some new skills long ago. This method of imparting also consumes part of his own strength, but the depletion is lower compared to directly modifying a Devil Fruit.

It can only be used when imparting skills, not as a training space. The Power of Space-Time is something he only mastered at his peak.

Shaina didn’t know how long she had studied. When she opened her eyes again, the sun had already risen over the horizon, and the morning sun was shining on the deck.

When Arceus called her out, it was nighttime, so it seemed at least seven hours had passed, but in her memory, she seemed to have studied for a full seven days.

”How is it? Let me see the effect of Sword Dance.”

The learning process only ends under two circumstances: mastering the skill or automatically exiting when the external body’s limit is reached. Given the physique of the Lunarians Race, seven hours would definitely not reach the limit, so Shaina must have mastered the skill.

”Yes.”

Her body performed the actions from memory, several sword-shaped shadows appeared around her body, then merged back into it. The whole stage took about seven seconds.

”Do you feel anything?”

”During Sword Dance, the body can’t perform other actions, otherwise it gets interrupted. But I feel it’s because I’m not proficient enough. If I become more familiar, I should be able to solve this problem.”

This was some small problem she noticed while using it. It’s similar to Tekkai, where the body can’t move when using it, but a sufficiently skilled person can maintain it while moving.

The phantom appearing outside the body during Sword Dance is also a kind of ”energy.” If done properly, this energy should be able to combine with external Armament Haki, forming a special defense method.

Combining Fruit Abilities with Haki, a very reasonable move development method.

The learning space is only responsible for making them learn the skills; mastering them proficiently can only be self-reliant.

”How’s the effect?”

Sword Dance: Physical Attack Level increases by 2. However, what exactly this increase of 2 means is unclear, and Shaina herself couldn’t say.

”Well... Lord Sacred Beast, I’m not sure either. How about asking Queen for help?”

She could feel the power increase, but the specific effect was unknown. The Navy and World Government do have ways to test power levels, but no pirate would know that.

Why find Queen? Because Queen had fought Shaina once before she was enhanced, so he could better perceive the change.

”Go find him, King should also be almost done.”

Nearby, King was in a similar state, clearly learning other skills.

Just waking up, Queen greeted his first misfortune of the day, because mastering a new skill meant he had to determine the amplification ratio.

Initially, he protested, being the ship doctor, scientist, helmsman, navigator, and combatant, he demanded equal status.

Arceus found his argument somewhat reasonable; they’re all crew on the same ship, not to overly discriminate, so using the characteristic of expedited banana growth through special stimulation convinced Queen to willingly agree to it.

”Come on, I’m ready. No hitting the face, don’t ruin my handsome visage!”

”Brother Queen, keep a smile, it’s the handsome face that should smile.” This was Asie, who had become familiar with Queen, reaching a consensus on thinking themselves very handsome.

Though Asie and Olga were older in body age, they chose to ignore the more than a century inside the Sea King Type’s belly, otherwise, even Kaidou would have to call Olga an old lady.

”Lord Sacred Beast, can I kick them both into the sea?”

”Calm down, watch your force, Asie can’t withstand your kick, and Queen can’t swim. If he really falls in, you’ll have to fish him out.”

Half the people on the ship are fruit ability users; Asie and Olga can swim but clearly can’t drag Queen’s physique, the same logic applies to Elizabeth.

If Queen falls into the sea and Arceus doesn’t help, Shaina would have to rescue him.

”Hey! You woman, don’t kick me there! Kick here, this hand’s made of special metal. Last time you kicked here, the changes on it can compare results, are you trying to use me as a dynamometer!”

Queen clearly felt Shaina wanted to settle old scores. After months of sailing, King was still somewhat considerate, though verbally taunting him, his actions differed.

But Shaina obviously held grudges; this was practically an opportunity for revenge.

Right now, under the guise of a better test, she specified her attack range.

Even with enhanced abilities, Shaina still hit him harder, which he attributed to wings of plant composition fearing flames, planning to undergo a fresh round of self-modification.

Shaina did not kick wrong, but even so, Queen felt his shoulder almost dislocated.

”Based on the degree of metal deformation, your kick’s about 65% stronger than before. Very powerful increase, how long can this enhanced state last?”

”About half an hour, but it doesn’t consume much, so the duration isn’t much affected.”

At this time, King also finished his learning process, the ship began more skill testing; however, the new skill King mastered was evidently different from Shaina’s.
