Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Blaziken and Devil Fruit

However, Arceus was not very satisfied, as he found that directly granting abilities seemed to consume a significant amount of energy.

Arceus possesses the power to create divine beasts like Dialga and Palkia, but that relies on the mighty power of the Plates. At this time, he has only two Plates, and his strength is not complete, so such consumption seems quite high.

Nonetheless, it confirmed his judgment of his own abilities. He could grant the abilities of Pokémon directly using a human body as a foundation, at the cost of his own energy.

These newly emerged ”ability users” would not fear the sea. To be precise, what ability users fear is not the sea or Seastone, but a special component called ”PYROBROIN.”

It is because Seastone contains a large amount of PYROBROIN particles that it can nullify the power of Devil Fruits, and the seawater of this world also contains PYROBROIN components, which is why the Sea has the same effect on ability users as Seastone does.

Such particles have no impact on Pokémon abilities.

Regarding ways to conserve energy, Arceus had his own ideas. One was to modify Devil Fruits or try modifying people who had already eaten a Devil Fruit, or perhaps make something like a learning machine and let some Zoan-type ability users practice with it.

Of course, these required numerous experiments to determine the results. For now, it was time to see the concrete effects.

Shaina’s body shape did not change significantly, only growing a few centimeters taller. Apart from the original flames on her back, fierce flames erupted from her legs and wrists as well.

Through modifying the bloodline, Pokémon abilities were made similar to Devil Fruit abilities, and Shaina’s current power was that of a Blaziken.

According to this terminology, it should be called the Bird-Bird Fruit, Mythical Zoan Type, Blaziken Form.

The final form was granted, with the ability being set.

If he were to directly create a Pokémon, it could gradually evolve from its initial form.

However, for granted abilities, achieving evolution from the initial form would still require his intervention.

As for choosing Blaziken, it was because the Lunarians race inherently used flames, Shaina was proficient in kicking skills, and the two Plates he currently had included a Fire Type.

As long as one of the attributes contained the property of a Plate, he could perform creation.

The consumption for creation was directly proportional to the strength of the ability recipient and the strength of the Pokémon itself.

Initially, he wanted to try creating a Fire-type divine beast, but the consumption temporarily dissuaded him from this idea.

A crimson mask covered most of her face, white long hair hung down in two sections, and her body was covered in red feathers. At this moment, she was in Human-Beast Form, but the Beast Form of Blaziken and this form were not particularly distinct, with the skin exposed being the only distinguishing feature.

In this scenario, no one could recognize her original identity, and people with dark skin were not uncommon.

”Alright, now you are all ability users. Since you think you won’t lose in a one-on-one fight, then give it another shot.”

Hearing Arceus’ words, Queen broke out in a cold sweat on his forehead, as he was just being stubborn earlier.

Dealing with either Shaina or King without abilities was already a struggle for him, and now that Shaina suddenly had abilities, and seemingly Mythical Zoan type ones, how was he supposed to fight?

Watching the eager Shaina, Queen placed his hopes on Kaidou.

”Come on, let’s not. We’re all on the same side now, fighting will just hurt everyone’s harmony, right, Big Brother Kaidou?”

He hoped Kaidou would stop this, but he received no response.

Turning to Kaidou, he saw that his face was flushed, his eyes were wandering, as if he had seen some great treasure.

The jar of liquor in his hand had unknowingly fallen to the ground and shattered.

Then came a surge of uncontrollable laughter, indicating that this already tumultuous Sea was bound to become more interesting, in Kaidou’s view.

The sudden creation of ability users, instead of being shocked by the emergence of such power, made him feel that the changes this power would bring were most important.

”Superb, superb, what a perfect power, Queen, you’ve already joined my pirate crew, right.”

”Yes, Big Brother Kaidou, it’s not good for us to fight each other..”

”No, this is the best way to show value, my first captain’s order—have another fight with her, this time one-on-one.”

He wanted to see where this ability truly manifested. In the previous battle, he was merely an observer, and the same combat opponent would allow him to better perceive changes.

”Huh?”

Queen was full of questions regarding Kaidou’s request, feeling like he had perhaps boarded the wrong ship.

He was in a very complicated mood at the moment. He wasn’t of Lunarian blood and had no reverence for Arceus.

Nor did he have Kaidou’s carefree mentality, seeing ability users suddenly manifest only brought excitement, as this ability was too fantastical.

Fantastical enough to break the common sense he had developed over the years.

The next few minutes were perhaps the darkest moments in Queen’s life.

Shaina, who had obtained Blaziken’s abilities, was like a completely different person, her physical attributes had greatly improved, especially the strength of her legs, which had increased several times over.

Blaziken’s leg strength could easily leap to the height of a thirty-story building, and when this power was converted into kicking, even a Zoan-type ability user couldn’t withstand it, let alone the flames which now burned many times hotter than before.

After several rounds, Queen ended up lying flat on the ground, simply choosing to admit defeat.

And beside him, Arceus looked at Kaidou with disdain, feeling a chill at the sight of a burly, multi-meter-tall man showing such a strange look.

”Is this the power you said?”

”Exactly, if you help me find Plates, I can grant similar abilities to your selected people. By the way, the more Plates I have, the stronger my abilities, allowing me to create even stronger abilities.”

As for the possibility of betrayal, the power was his to bestow, and naturally, he had a way to reclaim it. Using his ability against him was entirely out of the question.

”No problem, where are those Plates? I can’t wait; let’s go find them now!”

”If I knew where all the Plates were, would I be making this deal with you? I just need more hands to gather information; within a certain distance, I can sense the presence of Plates.

By the way, do you have any Devil Fruits? I want to try something else, see if I can transform an ordinary Zoan-type into a Mythical Zoan type power, so the ability can be preserved long-term, and you can slowly find the right people.”

He didn’t say modifying directly was too labor-intensive, but instead offered a different reason, the reason being the unique nature of Zoan-type fruits; not only could they grant abilities to inanimate objects, but they also possessed their own unique will.

Modifying other types of fruits might be more labor-intensive than directly granting abilities to humans.

”No, such things are still quite rare, but I have an idea to create a Zoan-type ability user army, and I’ll slowly search for them.”

As he spoke, a round, black-purple fruit rolled to their feet.
