Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 29: Chapter 29: Girl, You’re So Bold

On an unknown island, Kaidou finished the remaining alcohol in the patrol ship. Arceus found the Plate, making him very happy, and when he’s happy, he likes to drink, and once he drinks, he tends to black out.

But to be honest, whether Kaidou gets drunk doesn’t depend on the amount of alcohol but on whether he wants to get drunk.

If he doesn’t want to get drunk, it’s very difficult to numb his nerves completely with alcohol. If he wants to get drunk, just a little is enough.

Now was the time when Kaidou wanted to experience the feeling of being drunk, and it was unfortunate for the creatures living on the island. The island’s environment has formed a closed-loop food chain, but the creatures originally at the top of the food chain have now become food.

Roast, the most primitive way of cooking for humans. With the right level of heat and sufficient seasoning, the roasted food doesn’t taste too bad.

Common sense knowledge about camping in the wild doesn’t concern them, except they should be careful not to accidentally burn down the whole island, as danger is irrelevant to them.

The night was quiet, with only the occasional crackling of burning wood. At this moment, a figure was swiftly approaching the island on the sea.

It wasn’t swimming or flying but purely running on two legs, a green body, and a height taller than a person, resembling a creature produced by a combination of a snake and a lizard.

With a long neck and upright posture, it resembled a dinosaur, with wide webbed feet and a long tail maintaining balance, which allowed it to run swiftly on the sea.

This was a creature called a Snake Monster Lizard, a bizarre creature that should have been extinct long ago. However, it had a simple saddle on its back, on which a little girl was sitting.

Golden long hair, a purple dress, with a simple red ribbon tied around her head.

The Sea King Type occasionally swallowed many things, which was the source of her supplies.

”Elizabeth, head towards the light, I smell the scent of food, it’s the smell of meat. I don’t know how long it’s been since I’ve eaten meat!”

As she spoke, drool already trickled down her mouth, and the lizard called Elizabeth was similarly drooling.

This lizard had a gentle temperament, was easy to tame, had a long lifespan, and was omnivorous, but had weak fighting capabilities, mostly eating plants or catching some small animals in ordinary times.

However, where it used to live, there were no birds or the like to be found, as it previously lived in the stomach of a giant anglerfish.

It’s no joke that super-sized Sea King Type creatures swallow islands. That giant anglerfish had three stomachs inside, each with a small island, and the girl was a survivor on one of them.

The previous attacks by Arceus and Kaidou tore through the Sea King Type’s stomach, spewing out many things, and she and the lizard took this opportunity to escape from inside.

Because Elizabeth could run on water and had high endurance, they successfully left the Windless Zone. The quiet movement of the Snake Monster Lizard running on the sea’s surface kept the Sea King Type inhabitants below unaware.

Or rather, those awakened Sea King Type creatures went to attack the heavily injured anglerfish Sea King Type.

After running on the sea for a long time, the girl and the lizard accidentally reached the vicinity of the island where Kaidou and the others temporarily resided, attracted by the firelight and a faint smell of meat.

Believing nobody noticed them at the island’s edge, little did they know that King, who was keeping watch on the ship, had noticed them as soon as they came ashore.

He originally intended to catch the little fellow directly but was stopped by Shaina, who came to change shifts.

”Why are you stopping me?” King asked in a low voice on the ship, and the girl crawling below was unaware that two people on the ship were watching her.

Most people didn’t sleep on the ship once it docked. No matter how well-built it was, the ship would always slightly rock with the waves, and for people used to sailing, resting on land was a rare comfort.

For people of the Sea, this was basically common sense, and being just a few years old, she hadn’t thought about so many things.

”She seems to be heading for the remaining roasted meat. Let her be, the feeling of an empty stomach is unbearable...”

Only those who’ve experienced it truly know how painful and indescribable that feeling is.

The Lunarians Race are resilient but not immune to hunger, just more enduring. Their life of escape, coupled with the life in laboratories, had exposed them to various hardships.

Seeing the not-so-old little girl, Shaina felt some sympathy. However, while sympathetic, she retracted her flames, spread her wings, and flew over.

”Continue your watch, I’ll go see what she actually intends to do.”

She would help those she wanted to help as much as she could and wouldn’t hesitate to break the neck of the opponent upon discovering any issues.

Arceus wasn’t here now; he was testing the specific effects of skills with some wild animals on the island. For example, the Dark Type’s taunt, some skills have effects similar to Rule Type abilities in reality, making them quite tricky.

For instance, taunt, which makes the opponent furious in the game so they can only use damage-dealing skills for three turns, but reality isn’t turn-based, and the effects of taunting are more varied, making some wild animals start fighting among themselves.

”When we find the Grass Attribute’s Meadow Plate, we should try Grass Knot. If it’s Oars of that size, who knows what effect it would have.”

The heavier the weight, the greater the damage from Grass Knot. However, the principle of the skill is to trip the opponent, and the Giant Race wouldn’t likely knock themselves out with a fall, probably not.

Practical experience is the sole criterion for truth. Without specific practice, he wasn’t sure of the exact effects, much like how the taunt skill could exert effects far beyond expectation.

Meanwhile, the little girl and Elizabeth had found their way near the leftover roasted meat, already eating until their bellies were round and full. The people of this world seemingly had a stomach capacity far exceeding ordinary humans, with many having equally strong hearts.

For instance, Kaidou was snoring away nearby, one with a big heart kept sleeping, and another dared to continue eating with a big heart.

”Are you full?”

”I am full... Who!” The little girl hesitated for three seconds at the sudden question, then felt something was wrong. Meanwhile, Queen, out for a midnight snack, happened to arrive.

To quickly modify the power device, he had been modifying the ship earlier. After the work was done, he wanted to find some more food.

Initially, Shaina wanted her to leave after eating her fill, but her appearance coupled with the sudden appearance of Queen seemed to have frightened her, causing her to do something unimaginable.

She took a sleeping Kaidou hostage.
