Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 44: Chapter 44: An Even Braver Person Appears

Treasures, the Plate, and Kaidou settling some old scores made this operation a great success.

Under the power of the Splash Plate, a passage opened amid the incoming water, and Kaidou, enveloped in flame clouds, left with everyone.

He could have taken a large amount of treasure due to his abilities, but a giant dragon flying through the sky with treasure would be too eye-catching, so he didn’t do that.

”Is it already daylight? Looks like we’ve spent quite some time here.”

Back on the ground, everyone looked at the newly risen sun; it had been midnight when they went down, and now the sun was covering the sky once more.

”After all, as pirates of the New World, our strength is still lacking...” King looked at the scars on his shoulders with some dissatisfaction. Such strength is not enough; even a pirate could inflict such damage on him.

If it’s just like this, he’s not worthy of talking about revenge.

Although it looked like he wasn’t badly hurt, that was the result of the powerful healing ability from combining Zoan, Lunarians Race traits, and Pokemon abilities.

Shaina was fine; opponents were random, and the ones she encountered were much weaker, unable to hurt her at all.

The last two CP0 members she encountered were indeed of good strength, but when their fight started, Arceus had already found his Plate and dealt with them using ocean currents.

Those two didn’t have the same formidable body as Ochoku, and under the joint effect of the currents and lightning, they became part of the treasure cave as well.

”You two enough, I’m the one who got hurt the most!”

”Huh? But weren’t you the one who hurt yourself? You’re really dragging us down.” It wasn’t Shaina this time; under Queen’s backstabbing policy, Shaina decided to stop berating him for now.

But this move was effective against Shaina, not against King, so he was stabbed in the back again.

”Brother Kaidou, Master Arceus, can’t you consider your own people next time?” Queen lay on the flame clouds, weakly complaining that the world was somewhat unfriendly to him; why was it only him getting electrocuted?

Arceus said nothing; it was Kaidou discharging, not him. However, Kaidou’s thinking was evidently different from what Queen imagined.

”Hahaha, Queen, you’re just too weak. If you noticed your condition and used Haki to block the current in advance, you wouldn’t be affected. After we set sail, I’ll train you properly. You can join King and them in training.”

”Isn’t that unnecessary, Brother Kaidou...”

Kaidou’s training is, in every sense, true training. Getting beaten can be said to be an essential part of Haki training; even for those who awaken Haki on their own, getting beaten is an unavoidable process in subsequent training.

Kaidou’s training is indeed beneficial, but it truly hurts. ℴ

”Don’t be polite, you’re one of my crew.”

What Kaidou decides won’t change easily, so Queen was dragged into the crash course in Haki.

Queen lay lifelessly on the flame clouds, looking at the lake surface, contemplating life.

The lake, due to the opening below, caused a massive inflow of water, forming a giant whirlpool on the surface, with John’s awakening ability disrupting the surrounding terrain, causing the surrounding seawater to pour in continuously, keeping the water level up.

Unless some fishman digs through the underground, no one can discover the secret below, as all who know are either on Kaidou’s flame clouds or below.

John’s earlier actions caused a small-scale earthquake and tsunami, but those escape ships were anchored securely to the ground, so they weren’t affected.

However, now the situation has changed, and it might take longer for the tide to retreat.

At this moment, Queen seemed to see something, rubbing his eyes. He took out a telescope.

”Hey, hey, look over there; isn’t that the little brat’s Snake Monster Lizard?”

In Queen’s view, a green lizard was running on the sea surface, with a hole in its belly, and as it ran, blood kept dripping onto the water.

It seemed to see Kaidou’s figure in the sky, constantly roaring in this direction.

This was the strangest part, as usually Elizabeth tried to stay beside Arceus and most of the time was inseparable from Olga.

Before the action, they had arranged for Olga and Asie to stay at that hotel. The local small-scale tsunami hadn’t affected that place, so appearing here and injured was unusual.

King jumped off the flame clouds, bringing the injured Elizabeth back to the flame clouds. Although Elizabeth could understand their words, only Arceus could understand what Elizabeth was saying.

”Yah, yah, yah yah, yah!”

”Stop moving, I haven’t treated a lizard’s wound before. Bear it, even if it hurts, the wound needs stitching, or you’ll die.”

Queen was reluctantly acting as a veterinary since he hadn’t treated Snake Monster Lizards before, a species long extinct outside.

However, it wasn’t crying out in pain but calling for help.

”It said Olga was taken away by someone, and Asie is now in the hotel, life or death unknown, just when the moon had yet to disappear, and the sun was about to rise. It also said it remembered that person’s scent and asked us to hurry to rescue Olga.”

”A human trafficker? Daring to kidnap people in Natehuo Kingdom’s central hotel, aren’t they afraid of becoming the Gray World’s public enemy?”

Natehuo Kingdom allows all sorts of gray transactions, but absolutely doesn’t permit any guest endangering activities in the central hotel, which is one reason why it became a center for gray trade.

”Queen, you go back and treat Asie first, then sail to our agreed location. Damn, the good mood is entirely spoiled.”

Kaidou’s originally lifted mouth corners completely collapsed; his subordinates can fail, make mistakes, having a bit of character is also fine, but the Intern he valued was taken away, which for him is a huge insult.

”Shaina, you go with Queen as well, try to rescue Asie.” Arceus also wanted Shaina to go since he remembered Queen mentioned that possibility. Asie, a top-tier materials scientist, is not so easy to find.

Due to the previous outflow tide and John’s fruit, the surrounding seawater was pouring into the central area. Before dawn, it would have been impossible to sail away from here, so the one who took Olga hasn’t gotten far even if they’ve set sail.

Kaidou wanted to let them know not just anyone could be casually touched.
