Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 486: The Witch Academy’s Preliminary Joint Exam Battle Tactics

In just half a day, the teaching assistants were now fighting fiercely for some resources that could affect their own candidates, and the candidates were naturally not idle either.

As the witches of the Witch Academy rushed out of the ”birth island,” they violently invaded the main island with the force of a whirlwind.

Because they needed to take care of more ordinary students who had almost no means, crossing the sea area required a lot of sea ”vehicles” to transport the large number of people across the sea.

If they were to make boats from the wood on the original island, it would be very troublesome.

Compared to this fine work, it was better to use the simplest and crudest method, using sea ice floes.

Creating ice floes that floated on the sea and were not easy to roll over did not require too much technical content, only a sufficiently powerful ice-type evocation spell.

As a former evocation expert who played with fire and ice, Tan Han had a special affection for ice spells due to the ice-fire elemental countering combat system built with the Ancient Glacial Ice Super Consumption Spellbook.

And she also found that several of her followers also had a large number of ice-type evocation spellbooks, which made the implementation of this sea ice floe plan very smooth.

And from the intelligence, Tan Han learned about the difficulty and strength of the monsters in the sky, as well as the precedent of the sea beasts in the sea almost wiping out the Sea Race Academy.

This made her have to be very cautious.

So when crossing this sea area, the students who could fly needed to be on alert in the sky, while the students with underwater activity spells monitored the movements of the sea beasts underwater.

The students with powerful disposable alchemical items needed to be vigilant at all times and provide fire support underwater and in the air.

Although many people felt that this arrangement was a bit too cautious, Tan Han still insisted on implementing it.

After all, they didn’t know the horror of those giant monsters in the sky, let alone how powerful the group of sea beasts that could wipe out a small Sea Race Academy was!

And this sea crossing was almost uneventful.

The vast sea ice floes and the reserve witches who were wandering around in the sky on their brooms seemed to be treating this joint exam as a spring outing.

Only a few who were courting death did not ride their brooms steadily and fell into the sea, getting a little injured, and seemed to have suffered no other harm.

And the biggest casualty was the initial contact with the monsters on the main island after arriving at the main island beach.

But soon, those monsters were covered by a large number of alchemical bombs.

The roaring sound lingered on the main island for a long time.

The vibration caused by the terrifying explosion was even felt by the Holy Angel Academy, which had already landed on the island in the distance.

The Preaching Angel of the Holy Angel Academy, who had come from afar, also saw this terrifying scene that made his pupils shrink.

The round after round of bombardment, like artillery fire washing the ground, made it impossible to find a single complete monster corpse on the main island beach, and even the blood-stained sand was not visible, because the high temperature of the explosion had turned everything that could be burned into scorched earth.

And the giant monsters that could not be killed by alchemical bombs were annihilated by the extermination team led by Tan Han.

And when the main force of the Witch Academy arrived on the main island, the cooperation between Tan Han’s supporter group and the collaborators came to an end.

Cooperating to cross the sea was the best choice in the short term, and after arriving on the main island, they would rely on their own means, and the sky was the limit.

No one could stop the end of the cooperation, because what the main island would welcome next... was the crazy advance of tens of thousands of reserve witches like ”mad dogs out of their cages.”

And Tan Han was also advancing according to her own plan, ”coincidentally” occupying multiple resource points along her own route, obtaining supplies, occupying houses, and sweeping for food and resources.

But was the termination of this cooperation really due to a lack of harmony, as Tan Han thought?

No, everyone just had their own missions.

Ninglan Qiuyue looked at the crowd that had chosen to go deep along the northwest coast under the misdirection of her words, then looked at Lucianne.

The other party also noticed her gaze, and their eyes met as if they had understood something.

Because they both found that their purpose was almost the same as the other party’s, to guide the direction of the remaining free group.

If there were any famous Children of Destiny in the Witch Academy, there were probably only three: Tan Han, the most famous one; Ninglan Qiuyue, the City Lord from the mysterious Dream State world of Ninglan New City, whose fame in the Witch Academy had also caused several heated discussions, so much so that many people remembered her.

The remaining one was Lucianne.

With the Wan Shi Wu promoting her, and her practical combat strength also at the top level of her peers, she naturally had her own supporters.

The Children of Destiny that the Witch Academy had abducted were naturally not just these three.

But after the three-legged stool was formed, it was already difficult for other Children of Destiny who wanted to rise to achieve their influence.

The three rounds of taking sides had already exhausted the people in the same cohort who pursued and flattered the Children of Destiny.

The remaining majority were those who disdained to take sides, or who were not qualified to take sides.

And a part of these students who were unwilling to accept this followed those Children of Destiny.

After all, it’s better to be the head of a chicken than the tail of a phoenix.

What if the Child of Destiny they followed was very capable?

Everyone has fantasies.

When Ninglan Qiuyue left, she subconsciously glanced at an empty place, as if a person was standing there.

She led her followers in another direction.

Her purpose was obvious: to occupy the few remaining resource points along the southeast coast and push outwards.

The islands on this side of the coast were mostly beast academies.

Their difficulty in crossing the sea was many times harder than that of the Witch Academy, because they hardly mastered any spells.

Except for using the forest resources on the islands and their own strong physical strength to cross the sea, there were almost no other ways.

So what they had to do was to shoot them down as soon as they appeared, and crazily suppress the beast academies’ goal of landing on the island.

There were dozens of academies participating in this joint exam, but not every academy was qualified to land on the main island to compete.

And for Ninglan Qiuyue to make such a decision, she naturally needed her own reasons, and reasons to persuade others.

After all, she was leading classmates, not city guards who followed orders to the letter.

For her supporters, doing so also needed to be supported by interests.

As for what interests?

Naturally, it was scores.

And her reason was also very simple.

If she just said that sweeping away monsters to get scores might not be useful, but if she put it in another way, to snatch the landing scores of other academies, to suppress the island academies on the southeast side of the main island, and to suppress many beast academies with their own strength, and to shoot them down as soon as they appeared, this was enough to mobilize great enthusiasm and a sense of strategic honor.

In addition, the ”coincidental” discovery of resource points could make her decision be supported by more people, and the interest group was thus established.

...

And on Lucianne’s side, although she was very wary of the person in front of her, she understood that she could never reach the other party’s height under the understanding of Senior Daphne.

She was very hesitant to follow the other party’s suggestion at first, because this behavior was completely cheating.

But it was not until she found that Tan Han and even Ninglan Qiuyue were carrying out their own plans according to the blueprint that Xiao Han had drawn for her that she understood that she had no room for hesitation.

Although the number of people in the Witch Academy this time reached tens of thousands, there were only four parties leading this group.

Besides the three of them, the Children of Destiny, there was another group which was a free group formed by the remaining Children of Destiny.

They seemed to be the largest, most numerous, and least powerful scattered group, and were also defined by Xiao Han as ”sacrifices.”

Because Lucianne knew very well what she was going to face on this trip.

It was the Holy Angel Academy, which was also a top-tier academy!

Those birdmen had actually entered the main island first, around midnight last night, and had successfully established a foothold and found a resource point under the leak of their teaching assistants.

The blow of this news was also one of the main reasons she accepted the arrangement.

If the other party played dirty, then it was reasonable for her to cheat in this way.

But when she thought that she had to face the Holy Angel Academy, she still felt... a little scared.

But the direction she was going to was the area with the most resource points, and her main purpose was to get there first, to preemptively suppress the Holy Angel Academy’s expansion and advance on the main island.

It sounded a bit incredible.

She and her supporters couldn’t do this.

Even if Tan Han were to do this, she couldn’t.

But Tan Han needed to occupy the high ground.

Her mission was more crucial, an attempt to make the Witch Academy invincible, and also a deterrent!

Because the volcano on the main island was a dormant volcano, not a dead volcano.

This was the biggest deterrent!

And all Lucianne had to do was to do her best.

Besides, she was not without a way.

The vegetation on the main island was lush, and the large amount of vegetation also blocked the line of sight, giving Lucianne the advantage of the enemy being in the open and her in the dark.

And she could also use the final means when necessary.

If Lucianne were to evaluate it, it was almost a clumsy imitation of the Calamity Witch in the Dream State Exchange Competition back then.

A forest fire, a natural barrier, was enough to stop most of the Holy Angels’ footsteps of expanding outwards.

As long as they didn’t encounter a storm on the island, this barrier was enough for them to achieve most of their goals on this trip, to prevent those birdmen from invading the area planned by the Witch Academy.

But she didn’t need to worry about these accidents, because she knew very well that the person in charge of this game was not her.

She was just a pawn on the surface to push the battle to victory.

As for the direction of those free groups, that was the last loophole in this plan.

The Holy Angel Academy’s choice of landing on the island naturally also needed to consider the subsequent route of advance.

If it was just for a good start and to ruin the subsequent path, it would be better to fight a bloody path from the beginning.

The Holy Angel Academy’s expansion, due to the leak of information from their Preaching Angels, in order to occupy the resource points, they would be more inclined to expand towards the Witch’s territory.

This was inevitable.

And of the two directions of advancing towards the Witch Academy, one of them had already been obtained by her in advance, and she was going to block it.

At worst, she would use a forest fire as a natural barrier to block the other party’s advance.

And the other direction did not have the natural advantage of a forest, and the fire could not spread.

And it was mixed with residential areas, homestays, and other man-made planned areas, making the road unimpeded.

But this kind of terrain was suitable for occupying advantageous terrain in advance and fighting guerrilla warfare, which was suitable for hindering the Holy Angel Academy’s advance.

But undoubtedly, this would also be the frontal contact battlefield with the most casualties.

In addition, with the huge strength gap between those people and the Holy Angel Academy, failure was inevitable.

But these people going there also had another role, that is, to consume the supplies in the man-made planned area.

Yes, it was that simple.

Previously, on the birth island, this free group was the one with the least preparation and the least food supply.

This was also to stimulate their scavenging for food and resources and their obsession with housing for the night.

After all, after a night, they had only camped in the wild by the bonfire, watching the well-prepared people sleep in tents.

This gap would suggest to them that they would frantically seek revenge-like compensation when they saw an opportunity.

Of course, if the progress of this group of people was not enough, and they did not reach the planned location at the scheduled time.

Lucianne, as the advancing group adjacent to this group of people, could leak some of the resource point coordinates ahead for them, to lure them forward with the distributable scores of a large number of resource points.

All of these preliminary plans were proceeding according to plan, but this did not mean that everything would go smoothly, because there were still two uncontrollable factors interfering with the progress of the strategy.

One was the Aphrodite Forest Elf Academy.

Although the Witch Academy’s entry into the main island deliberately avoided the possibility of direct contact with the elves, as the side close to the elves, they could be blocked by those elves at any time.

But fortunately, they still had this free group as a strategic buffer to buy them time, so this free group was called the ”sacrifice” group by her, because they could really be sacrificed at any time to contribute to their strategic buffer.

If this kind of conflict really happened, then this would evolve into the main battlefield of a three-way war between the Aphrodite Forest Elf Academy, the Holy Angel Academy, and the Witch Academy.

So Lucianne’s pressure was huge.

The only fortunate thing was that it was very difficult for the elves of Aphrodite Academy to cross the sea.

Their elven magic was not as versatile and powerful as the Witch Academy’s spellbooks.

They did not have the innate advantage of the Holy Angels who could fly.

Their only way was to use the plant magic that the Forest Elves were best at to build wooden boats to cross the sea.

But in the end, they would still be one step behind the Witch Academy.

To let the elves fight a landing battle, that was simply a joke.

The alchemical items that the Witch Academy had prepared could be used to set up a ”minefield” at any time.

It didn’t need to be a large area.

It only needed to blow up and injure some elves, to make them realize that the front was an unknown minefield, which was enough to greatly slow down their advance.

After all, the advantage of information asymmetry meant that after they realized the existence of the minefield, they would not dare to advance rashly.

Even if they violently cleared the mines, it would also consume a large amount of their effective strength.

As for the other uncontrollable factor... that was the Wizard Academy.

But according to intelligence, the Wizard Academy would not have contact with the Witch Academy at this stage.

Their landing direction was on the other side of the main island.

Even if there was a deviation, they would not take such a big detour to come here.

Even if they did eventually come into contact, the most likely one to come into contact with them would be Tan Han.

Because the Wizard Academy was also very likely to have the idea of quickly occupying the high ground of the main island, and they also had the actual conditions to implement it.

So the pressure of this joint exam was great, but the Witch Academy’s advantage was also not small.

After figuring this out, she began to advance according to the plan and headed towards the first resource point.
