Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 456: Those Vying for the Teaching Assistant Position are Naturally Ruthless Individuals

The written test allowed early submission, and I certainly did so.

In fact, most of the seniors here did the same.

Upon first glance at the test questions, I personally felt confident, but didn’t those seniors feel the same way?

They put in countless more hours of effort than I did before this written test began, so they almost completed these questions instantly.

Only the later challenging and extension questions slowed them down slightly.

Therefore, I was not the first person to submit early.

The series of questions were mostly basic at the beginning, practically taken directly from the knowledge points Big Sis Bai had organized for me.

Only the later extension questions posed a minor challenge, but not a difficult one.

When I submitted early, I was the fifth person to leave the classroom.

The moment I stepped out of the classroom, everything inside became irrelevant to the outside world.

A complex comprehensive spell effect enveloped the entire examination hall, preventing any sound or visual from passing through.

Just as I was about to leave, I noticed that two of the four seniors who had submitted early were still lingering outside the examination hall, leaning against each other and seemingly discussing something—likely the written test questions.

“Little sister wants to join us big sisters and check the answers?”

Just as I was passing behind them, one of the seniors suddenly called out to me.

“Are you calling me, senior?”

I pointed to myself and asked, though I already knew the answer.

“Of course, do you see any other little sisters here?”

They turned around and looked at me with smiles, their meaning equally obvious.

“Let me introduce myself. I’m Fu Xinglan, and next to me is Tracy. Here’s my name card.”

The senior who introduced herself as Fu Xinglan handed over a name card, smiling as she introduced her companion as well.

“My name is Yang Yuehan.”

I said, also accepting the name card, which was somewhat different from the others I had encountered; it was a symbol of their identity.

The name card of this Senior Fu Xinglan also had the words ”Wan Shi Wu Club” on it, meaning she had also marked her affiliated club.

Wan Shi Wu… I think I’ve seen the name before, but I know nothing about it.

“We naturally know your name is Yang Yuehan, Little Han. Your name became familiar to many seniors at the start of the semester, but why did you suddenly dye your hair?”

“It’s not a dye job. It’s because of some… well, call it an accident.”

I explained, using one finger to play with a lock of my hair, then put the name card away.

“Also, this is my name card. Would you like to accept it, senior?”

“Of course we’ll accept a card from Little Han. Hmm? This name card is also an Alchemical Item. That’s quite extravagant.”

“Mhm, I know a little Alchemy. I made it myself.”

I said casually.

Just then, the other senior spoke to me with a hint of resentment in her tone.

“Xinglan, aren’t you being too cunning? You don’t need to help introduce me.”

After she finished speaking, she looked at me.

“I wonder if my name card can be exchanged for one of yours, Little Han? My identity is also no less significant than that Wan Shi Wu person, you know?”

“Oh, of course.”

After all, I had refined quite a few of my name cards.

Although they contained the summoning ritual, that didn’t mean I had to tell them.

They could simply be used as ordinary name cards.

The most expensive part of the name card was just the material itself, and that was the cheap kind that could be bought with money; at most, it was just durable.

“Seeing you so clueless about the concept of Wan Shi Wu, Little Han, you probably don’t know the status of the Wan Shi Wu Club in the academy, do you?”

Tracy was delighted to receive my name card, then continued to look resentfully at Fu Xinglan.

“I really don’t know.”

I said truthfully.

However, after looking at Tracy’s name card, I suddenly realized she was a member of the Witch’s Secret Realm Club!

“Wan Shi Wu is just a small club. We only cooperate a little with the Academy System task section.”

Fu Xinglan said modestly.

“Only a little? If the Wan Shi Wu Club is a small club, then the Witch Academy has no large clubs, you know? Have you heard of the Witch Academy’s Four Streets? The Black Market Street among them…”

“Stop talking nonsense, Tracy! Black Market Street has nothing to do with our Wan Shi Wu Club!”

She quickly interrupted.

“Alright, alright. It has no relation. I was wrong then.”

Tracy chuckled lightly.

Even though she personally denied it, she still gave me the feeling that her denial was meaningless.

To run into such heavyweights right away—was this Teaching Assistant assessment not terrifying enough?

But thinking closely… this seemed quite reasonable?

For those clubs and organizations to grow stronger in the Witch Academy, they either need a background like the Witch Cat Cafe (which has a Transcendent Witch background, but is not a club, and is the absolute limit), or for student-based clubs and self-organized groups, becoming a Teaching Assistant seems like the best path…

After all, a Teaching Assistant is not necessarily a Transcendent Witch, but they enjoy some of the rights and privileges of a teacher in the Witch Academy.

This is the best path for a student, aside from advancing to a Transcendent Witch.

Even though a Teaching Assistant cannot show favoritism, the extra care and influence they possess is still very intimidating.

Having figured this out, I was immediately relieved.

As for that oddball who caused me trouble earlier, only one oddball was indeed a small number.

After chatting with the two seniors for a few sentences to build rapport and emotional connection, the two seniors immediately bracketed me and got down to business.

The business was, naturally, checking the answers.

Although the written test scores would be released quickly, probably tomorrow, who could refuse to estimate their score today?

As geniuses, the two seniors naturally memorized most of the questions during the test.

However, because they submitted early, it was impossible to quickly memorize all the questions while filling in the answers.

The two seniors had already written down the front-end questions on the white board of their portable Earth Vein System.

“Seniors, use mine.”

I offered appropriately when I saw the two seniors debating the details of a question.

Subsequently, they felt a spell fluctuation, and a screen immediately appeared before them, perfectly replicating every detail of the test paper.

“Whoa, is this an illusion?”

Senior Fu Xinglan was the first to react, recognizing the essence of the spell effect.

“A Phantom Imaging Spellbook? What a rare Spellbook.”

Tracy also spoke up, her tone carrying a hint of envy.

“Something like that.”

I shrugged and didn’t say too much.

The two seniors were also quite perceptive and didn’t ask further, though they were secretly astonished.

This illusion managed to affect them instantly, and they only felt a spell fluctuation, unable to immediately distinguish that it was an illusion.

I naturally wouldn’t reveal the matter of the Tree of Knowledge.

If they mistook it for a Phantom Imaging Spell, then that Spellbook was a Phantom Imaging Spell.

“Wow… You remembered every question? Using this type of spell requires an extremely profound understanding of the object, doesn’t it? Are these the answers you wrote, Little Han?”

“Mhm, these are my answers, so please help me check if there are any mistakes.”

“Of course.”

Tracy quickly said.

Having such a spell was naturally much more convenient than operating their cumbersome Earth Vein System, and the questions were so clear, a comparison with their memories was immediate.

“Here is a pen for writing and recording.”

I summoned a pen with a flick of my hand.

“Thank you, this is truly convenient.”

“It’s an illusion, after all, so it’s naturally much more convenient.”

Soon, the two seniors went through all the answers.

Currently, there were no major disagreements on the answers, meaning the answers of the three of us were not significantly different.

It should be noted that such an important written test had no multiple-choice or true/false questions.

Every point earned was the accumulation of one’s own knowledge.

There was no element of luck, and the value was immense.

“The three of you, are you checking answers? Can I join you?”

At this moment, people who had submitted early came out one after another, and upon seeing the strange trio, they came forward to observe.

I didn’t mind this.

As time passed, the number of people increased, with some simply curious onlookers.

“Your knowledge foundation is so solid, Little Han? If I remember correctly, Little Han is only a first-year, right? Did you learn all three years of courses and knowledge points all at once?”

Senior Fu Xinglan and Senior Tracy, who had finished checking the answers, exclaimed this.

This realization also made the surrounding crowd’s scalps tingle.

They had almost mistaken the young woman in front of them for being on the same level as them.

They wondered, when they were in their first year… weren’t they struggling just to pass their courses?

After the incident with that person before the written test, even those who weren’t fully informed had some impression of me, such as the fact that I was a newcomer.

The person whose brain wasn’t working well earlier even used this to provoke me—wasn’t that just walking right into my crosshairs?

“The answers seem mostly the same. We only had some discrepancies in the extension questions, but I think your answers are better, Little Han. You have the look of a full-score winner!”

Senior Fu Xinglan immediately praised me, making me feel a little embarrassed.

“With Little Han being so formidable, it looks like I’ll have to call you Teacher Little Han in the future.”

Senior Tracy also chimed in, causing the seniors on the side to chuckle lightly.

It was fortunate that this area had a soundproof effect.

Otherwise, the teachers inside the examination hall would probably come out and chase away this group of people making strange noises.

After all, why would they linger at the examination hall entrance after submitting early?

After the answers were checked, the seniors gathered here also left, though many seniors came forward to hand me their name cards, wanting to establish a friendship.

I did not refuse this.

After all, demonstrating one’s value can reduce a large part of the trouble in life.

Some people don’t need to become friends, but merely knowing them is enough to bring a lot of convenience.

Don’t look at the fact that only a few dozen people took this written test.

Every single one of them had a considerable ”background” in the Witch Academy; otherwise, they wouldn’t have even passed the initial review.

For example, one of the academy’s largest self-organized auction clubs, the club responsible for managing the Witch Academy’s popular arena… I even encountered several people who had sent me letters before.

Unfortunately, most of those letters were still gathering dust in my Storage Equipment…

In short, everyone was only driven by self-interest, but there is generally nothing more reliable than mutual benefit in the relationships between ordinary people.

“Little Han, the rumors about you on the Academy Network have been truly rampant these past two days. Aren’t you going to do something about it?”

At this moment, Senior Fu Xinglan and Senior Tracy, who had not yet left, were still chatting with me about recent events.

“I only have one mouth; I can’t argue with brain-dead people.”

“Well said! The Academy Network has been foul recently. Everyone is on a real-name system, yet the rumors are flying wildly. Those members of the Tan Han Support Group contributed quite a bit, right?”

“Mhm.”

I nodded, tacitly confirming this point.

The two seniors also tacitly agreed that the online rumors were just that, rumors, and were clearly siding with me.

“So, Little Han, did you really steal all of Tan Han’s Spellbooks as rumored? I’m just curious. After all, you and Tan Han were the Twin Prides at one point both having a ’Han’ in your names.”

“I did take the Spellbooks, but Tan Han gave them to me willingly. In fact, she gave me one once before, and recently, during the Monthly Exam, I gave it back to her as a part of a bet, and she lost it to me again.”

“Oh? The process was so convoluted?”

The two seniors were clearly very interested in this gossip.

Who could resist the temptation of getting the story directly from the person involved?

“Mhm.”

“Then… Little Han, you must have three Super Consumption… oh, my bad for talking too much.”

Tracy was about to say something, but quickly covered her lips with her finger, not continuing.

“It’s nothing. But that guess was wrong. I still only have two Super Consumption Spellbooks.”

I looked at Tracy.

She was also a member of the Witch’s Secret Realm Club.

The last person I met from this club was Renata, wasn’t it?

“Hmm? Why?”

“Because after Tan Han left, her supporters came looking for me again. As for what they said to me… seniors, do you want to see something good? It’s a treat.”

“Yes, yes.”

Seeing my expression of anticipating a spectacle, they quickly agreed.

After all, who could refuse to see a new piece of interesting gossip?

Moreover, my single sentence just now revealed an enormous amount of information.

That kind of intelligence was far too interesting!

And this gossip was related to Tan Han.

Who was Tan Han?

The most popular figure among the newcomers, and the so-called Child of Destiny.

Although the title was arrogant, Tan Han had proven her foundation with her strength.

I waved my hand, and the scene recorded by the Tree of Knowledge appeared before the two of them.

Since this was presented as an illusion, those who weren’t affected by the spell couldn’t see the screen.

As the scenes played, they looked at the two young women… and their expressions immediately turned unpleasant.

“They just took the Spellbook like that?”

After watching, the two asked tentatively.

“Mhm Don’t you think it’s interesting?”

I said.

“But that was a Super Consumption Spellbook.”

“I’m not short on that kind of Spellbook. Compared to that, I’m more curious about which lucky person will use it, and… if Tan Han saw this, her expression would surely be magnificent…”

“That’s true.”

Seeing my indifference, the two seniors didn’t say much, simply treating it as a spectacle.

But even while watching the spectacle, they felt a headache coming on.

After all, that was a Super Consumption Spellbook!

They were countable across the entire academy.

A Spellbook like that was being used by Little Han just to watch a spectacle…

But truthfully, this spectacle was truly entertaining.

The joke would surely be on Tan Han and her supporters for the entire school to see.

After all, Tan Han’s supporters had created too much hype over the past two days.

Even Tan Han’s own statement on the Academy Network was drowned out, and the comments below were all watching the spectacle.

Tan Han was subtly showing signs of being betrayed by her own supporters.

“By the way, is your relationship with Tan Han really that bad? To mess with her like this?”

“Relationship? On the level of a regular friend, perhaps.”

“Then you’re really ruthless.”

“Am I being ruthless towards Tan Han? I personally think I’m helping her. She hasn’t realized yet that she can’t control those supporters. If she doesn’t realize this, she’ll only suffer a worse betrayal later. If she fails, at least she can save herself. But if she overcomes this hurdle, that’s when she’ll truly become the absolute core of the Tan Han Support Group.”

“That’s true, it’s just a very intense method. So, Little Han, is this why you never respond to your support group?”

“Mhm.”

“I have to say that’s a very rational choice. Time is also getting late… so we should part ways. If you can’t handle this, Little Han, you can contact me. I have some means within the academy.”

Fu Xinglan bid me farewell.

“Me to Little Han, you’re welcome to visit our Witch’s Secret Realm Club often in the future. I’ll also help you with the matters on the Academy Network, the kind where you don’t owe me a favor.”

Senior Tracy also said to me.

It was obvious that although she and Senior Fu Xinglan had a good relationship, they were also in competition with each other.
