Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 452: Tan Han Abides by the Bet

“So… Little Han, you went through all of that? It truly completely surpassed my expectations.”

After listening to my account, Bai Yu recovered from her slightly stunned expression.

Although I told the story very easily and briefly, Bai Yu could discern much hardship from my words.

Whether it was facing the unknown world or those bizarre Secret Digger players, none of them were easy to deal with.

Moreover… there was even a Child of Destiny in that Small World who tried to steal Little Han from her, and that was what she couldn’t tolerate the most—that was poaching!

“Well whatever happened, it’s all in the past now. Neither the natives of that world nor the players could cause me any harm. The only unfortunate thing is that the Reverse Summoning Spell can’t pinpoint the coordinates of that world.”

“Even if it could, Little Han, you must not rush over there, do you understand?”

“I know. Anyway, that’s not for me to worry about, and I’m too lazy to take that risk.”

I waved my hand, reassuring Big Sis Bai.

Sure enough, whenever my personal safety was involved, Big Sis Bai would become exceptionally serious and determined.

The topic of the Small World finally concluded when the meal ended.

However, given the impending written test and my mastery of those knowledge points, I naturally had no reason to continue spending time with Big Sis Bai.

Before parting, I finally gave her the Mithril figurine.

“This is the action figure I made for you. It’s the most special summoning beacon I created. If you want to see me, Big Sis Bai, you can activate it anytime. No matter where I am, even if we are separated by two worlds, I can feel its summon. It’s the most special one I’ve made.”

“Is that so? Then… I accept it.”

Big Sis Bai didn’t refuse the small Mithril figurine I handed to her.

After all, she couldn’t refuse an action figure that could summon Little Han anytime, could she?

“Actually, I finished making this a long time ago, but I never had a chance to give it to you. Now that I’ve given you this figurine, don’t do anything strange to it, okay.”

“What do you take me for? How could I do anything to a small figurine? Alright, alright. If there’s nothing else, Little Han, you should go back. The written test for the Teaching Assistant Assessment is in two days. Don’t mess up on that.”

Big Sis Bai said exasperatedly, silently putting the figurine away.

“Relax, I won’t be tripped up by a hurdle like this… Hmm?”

Just as I was saying this, my phone suddenly vibrated.

“Who’s calling you? Is something wrong?”

“Oh, nothing.”

I glanced at the caller ID.

The person calling was Tan Han.

However, I didn’t answer it right away, choosing to selectively hang up for the time being.

Given my current relationship with Tan Han, her calling me at this moment was highly likely related to her Spellbooks, which was a trivial matter to me.

“Are you sure it’s nothing?”

“Oh, it’s nothing. Just let me walk around with Big Sis Bai a little longer, as a way to aid digestion, perhaps?”

“Alright.”

…

“Big Sis Tan Han, did she… hang up on you?”

The several young women surrounding Tan Han saw that Tan Han’s call was put down before a single word could be exchanged, and they probably guessed the outcome.

“Mhm, she actively hung up. She might be busy,” Tan Han said, shaking her head.

“Big Sis Tan Han, maybe she really doesn’t want those Spellbooks?”

“That’s right, Big Sis Tan Han, truthfully, you really don’t need to be so keen on dealing with that person.”

“That’s a large part of your assets, Big Sis Tan Han. If you give all of it away, your strength will definitely decrease significantly.”

At this moment, all the young women around Tan Han were trying to persuade her not to persist.

After all, from their perspective, Tan Han had never done anything wrong.

On the contrary, that Yang Yuehan was cold all the time and had few friends, yet she gained a huge windfall.

The other party did nothing and could take all of Tan Han’s Spellbooks…

It wasn’t that they were greedy.

If Tan Han were to divide these Spellbooks among her supporters, it would definitely allow their group to reach a level that others in the newcomer community could not hope to match.

They could even leverage this to create momentum and deal a blow to the reputation of the other Children of Destiny.

“Enough, stop talking. This matter was already decided. This is the second time. I didn’t seize the opportunity. I must abide by the bet. I know she might not necessarily want these Spellbooks, but I cannot not give them. Do you understand?”

Tan Han had previously explained the whole story and her own considerations to them, but clearly, these people hadn’t taken it to heart.

Perhaps some people did, like Minian and Hedi.

These people were friends who played and even fought with Tan Han, but faced with such a large crowd, the most they could do was refrain from joining the commotion, as their voices were drowned out by the others.

“I still don’t understand. I just don’t get why someone wouldn’t want a Spellbook. Big Sis Tan Han, you’re even giving away a Super Consumption Spellbook. What reason does she have not to want it? Including this one, that Yang Yuehan will have at least three Super Consumption Spellbooks, right? She’s a newcomer just like us. Can she handle a gift like that?”

Tan Han fell silent after hearing the reluctant words of the young woman.

It wasn’t that she thought the words made sense, but she was also considering whether Little Han could handle the fact that a newcomer possessed three Super Consumption Spellbooks.

When she owned one, she was approached by older seniors seeking trouble.

As for Little Han… she wasn’t sure.

Perhaps she, too, had been bothered by those seniors.

Just as Tan Han thought the matter was stuck, she suddenly received a text message from Little Han.

“I was busy just now. If you have something you want to discuss with me, let’s arrange a time to talk face-to-face. How about the Witch Cat Cafe?”

Looking at the message and the location pin, Tan Han immediately understood that this meant meeting offline.

This was also good; a face-to-face discussion was more convenient than talking on the phone.

“Little Han replied to my message. She was busy just now. Hmm… she suggested we meet at the Witch Cat Cafe.”

“She actually replied? Does she really want those Spellbooks?”

“Enough, stop talking nonsense. Stop making it sound like you all hate Little Han so much, regardless of whether she accepts the Spellbooks or not.”

Tan Han slapped the table at this moment.

This was the first time she had outwardly displayed her emotions to the group.

Previously, Tan Han had always been mindful that these were people who voluntarily followed her, and she wanted to reciprocate their support.

But as time went on, she found herself deeply entangled and unable to act freely.

She was subtly changing herself to accommodate others, and at this moment, she felt this particularly strongly, yet she also felt powerless.

With this burst of words from Tan Han, everyone heard the restraint in her tone, but even so, the presence Tan Han unintentionally exuded made the surrounding supporters hold their breath.

As for whether Tan Han’s emotional words made these people reflect, that remained unknown.

One shouldn’t judge the ugliness of these people’s attitudes or their poor manners.

They were merely ”fighting” for interests in their own way.

The fact that they gathered together under the banner of Tan Han was also due to a community of interests, wasn’t it?

They believed Tan Han could serve as a leader and bring them more benefits, not find ways to give her own assets to others, as was happening now.

At this moment, it was as if no one was wrong, and yet everyone was wrong.

But one thing remained unchanged: Tan Han would not alter her decision.

Tan Han edited a message and sent it back, accepting the meeting.

“Alright, I’ll go now. Everyone should disperse for now.”

“Big Sis Tan Han! I’ll go with you!”

“That’s right, I’ll go with you too. That way, it’ll be easier to look out for you.”

“No need. Thank you for your kind intentions, but this time it’s not suitable for a third person to be there. I can handle it myself. Let’s consider this matter closed with a final period.”

Seeing that Tan Han was resolute, the young women had nothing more to say and watched Tan Han leave.

Seeing Tan Han walk far away, the young women who remained looked at each other.

“Um… what do we do now?”

“I still don’t understand. I want to follow and see.”

“Hey! That’s not a good idea, is it?”

“What’s wrong with that? I’m going too. I don’t believe Big Sis Tan Han is willingly giving all those Spellbooks to that Yang Yuehan!”

“Count me in. By the way, do you know where Big Sis Tan Han is going?”

…

Witch Cat Cafe.

After parting ways with Big Sis Bai, I replied to Tan Han’s message.

After all, I was the one who hung up on her first, so I should now ask her to meet in person to clarify the situation.

The meeting during the last Monthly Exam was too hasty; this time, I naturally wanted to make things clearer.

So, I arrived at the Witch Cat Cafe early.

Since this was a place I frequented, I had naturally left a Teleportation Marker.

It wasn’t very late now, but Big Sis Bai and I had eaten quite early.

The Witch Cat Cafe naturally wouldn’t close so early.

In fact, the cafe also had night hours.

After all, cats are nocturnal creatures, and some high-end Cat-petters like to ”hunt” for disheartened Hostess Cat Girls late at night.

These were all part of the unique appeal of the Witch Cat Cafe.

It was just tough for the front desk young woman who had to work a rotating shift, as the night shift was genuinely boring.

“Do you still have Fool’s Dream Drink? I’ll take one freshly prepared.”

“If it’s freshly prepared, it’s a little expensive.”

“It’s fine.”

I said indifferently, then took out my Gold Cat Card and handed it over.

“Okay, I’ll go see which Fool’s Dream is available now.”

Upon seeing the Gold Cat Card, the young woman didn’t hesitate and immediately went to work.

Not long after, the Cat Girl waitress returned with a tray of tools, and a cute little Fool’s Dream was sitting on her shoulder, leisurely swinging her little feet.

Judging by the waitress’s satisfied smile, she didn’t mind the Fool’s Dream doing this at all.

After all, who could refuse a little cat girl sitting on their shoulder, swinging her little feet?

“Hey! It’s Big Sis Little Han!”

The Fool’s Dream originally thought she was just going to prepare the Fool’s Dream Drink for a regular customer, but she didn’t expect to be serving Big Sis Little Han!

This was an honor for her!

So, she quickly and impatiently got down.

“Mhm. It looks like you’re all doing well at the Cat Cafe? I’ll trouble you to help prepare the Fool’s Dream Drink this time, okay?”

I stroked the cute Fool’s Dream and said with a smile.

The diminutive Fool’s Dream stood on a raised counter specifically customized for the Fool’s Dream at the Witch Cat Cafe, wearing a cute Cat Girl uniform, which was the easiest thing to trigger a girl’s affection for cute objects.

“Hehehe It’s my honor to prepare the Fool’s Dream Drink for Big Sis Little Han!”

Seeing the Fool’s Dream enter work mode, I decided not to tease her.

However, watching the small Fool’s Dream expertly prepare the Fool’s Dream Drink truly possessed a unique aesthetic.

From squeezing the fruit juice to mixing the juice, every step was a perfect visual delight.

Not long after, a cup of Fool’s Dream Drink was prepared, and the Fool’s Dream who prepared it personally handed the cup over to me.

“Thank you.”

I took the cup and swirled the liquid inside.

Through the setting sun in the distance, I admired the brilliance of the sunset reflected in the Fool’s Dream Drink.

Finally, I took a small sip.

The unique feeling of the Fool’s Dream Drink immediately made me feel refreshed.

Although the taste of the Fool’s Dream-prepared drink was slightly different from my own, the difference in experience brought a different kind of sensation.

The leisurely Fool’s Dream didn’t rush to leave.

As a Cat Girl Fool’s Dream at the Witch Cat Cafe, no one could force them to do something they didn’t like, so no one had an issue with her staying here.

I was waiting for Tan Han’s arrival.

Taking advantage of the break, I also casually asked the Fool’s Dream about their situation, mainly just chatting to pass the time.

But what I didn’t expect was that before I even finished my cup of Fool’s Dream Drink, I saw a familiar figure at the entrance.

While I admit I drink slowly, still… was Tan Han so fast?

Did she ride her Flying Broom here at top speed?

After all, I was quite sure about the speed of the Flying Broom.

“Mhm, can you get me another serving of the raw materials for the Fool’s Dream Drink?”

I said to the Fool’s Dream, who was leisurely resting on the table.

“Mhm, Big Sis Little Han, wait a moment. I’ll go now.”

Watching the Fool’s Dream leave at lightning speed, my gaze turned to Tan Han.

“Tan Han, over here.”

I smiled and waved to her.

“Sorry, I’m a little late.”

Tan Han sighed in relief when she saw me and walked directly to the table, sitting across from me.

“It’s not late yet, I suppose. After all, I was the one who asked you out. Let me treat you to a cup of Fool’s Dream Drink. It’s a newly introduced specialty drink at the Witch Cat Cafe.”

“Thank you. I have heard of the Fool’s Dream Drink at the Witch Cat Cafe.”

She had also drunk it in the Fool’s Village Secret Realm before, but Tan Han didn’t say this out loud.

“Is that so? I didn’t expect the Fool’s Dream Drink to be so famous now.”

I chuckled lightly, then got straight to the point.

“But let’s talk business first.

I was busy when you called earlier, so I apologize for that.

But I’m still a little curious, what did you contact me about?”

“You know what I’m here for. You’re being deliberately coy.”

Tan Han said with a faint smile.

“That’s true.”

That was unnecessary of me.

However, before formally delving into the topic, I was still curious about one thing.

If Tan Han was returning the Spellbooks, it meant she hadn’t succeeded in the Monthly Exam’s practical combat test; she had failed the challenge.

So, what did that failure mean to Tan Han, and did she rise to the challenge and try again?

“But I am still curious to ask, did you try to challenge it again afterward?”

“Mhm, naturally I did,” Tan Han replied concisely.

“And did you succeed?”

I asked with a smile, as if I wasn’t afraid at all that Tan Han would surpass me through continuous refinement.

“No. I took out those Spellbooks that no longer belong to me again. This allowed me to feel the gap between you and me even more clearly. But I believe I will defeat that data you left behind one day.”

“Is that so? I wish you an early success. After all, that’s just data—data that won’t improve. It’s only a matter of time before you surpass it. Here’s a suggestion: perhaps you should try to challenge yourself, challenge the data that is synchronized with yourself.”

I sincerely wished her well.

During the Monthly Exam, she used the Spellbooks I had temporarily returned to her, and even then, she didn’t win.

Now, she had stripped those Spellbooks away again and was rising to the challenge…

That spirit was worthy of my respect.

Tan Han, in my eyes at this stage, was not fighting to defeat me, but to defeat herself.

It only took me one battle to defeat the data that was once on par with me.

“Then thank you in advance for your blessing and suggestion.”
