Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 455: Clownish Figures

“Big Sis Little Han, is something good happening? You seem to be in a good mood.”

The moment I returned, I ran into Guan Qiuling, who had already returned to the villa.

“That’s right. I watched a great show, although the ticket was a bit expensive.”

I shrugged.

After all, I paid for that show with a good number of Spellbooks.

And… they took my property, which has a price tag on it.

They are the ones who should be panicking.

Before encountering them, I thought that students who could get into the Witch Academy weren’t fools, but I was wrong.

There are plenty of people with poor judgment.

“A show? Is there a place in the academy to watch shows?”

“Mhm… isn’t there? I think wherever there are people, there are spectacles. By the way, the semester is almost over. Don’t you have a study plan or anything?”

“It’s rest time now. I’m already making a study plan. I don’t want to fail a course in my first semester of enrollment. I heard recently that failing a course affects the selection of a teacher in the fourth academic year.”

Guan Qiuling was unusually serious about her studies.

“Is that so? That is quite important. Well, I’ll head upstairs now. Hmm… it’s getting late.”

I looked at the time.

After leaving the Witch Cat Cafe, I didn’t rush back to the villa but went out for a stroll to experience the nightlife of the Witch Academy.

After all, many special places in the Witch Academy only open at night.

Unconsciously, it had gotten late.

“Wait… Big Sis Little Han…”

“What is it?”

I looked at Guan Qiuling, who was watching TV and scrolling on her phone, a little curious.

“Um… I don’t know how to say this, but I think it’s necessary to tell you, Big Sis Little Han, you usually don’t scroll through posts or videos much, do you?”

“Mhm, I guess not.”

I reflected that I seemed to have become an offline-focused person who didn’t engage with the internet much.

When I realized this again, I suddenly felt horrified, but this emotion was quickly suppressed.

After all, didn’t this represent an increase in my self-control?

The temptations I couldn’t quit before are now things I can easily say are dispensable.

“This is a post that someone published not long ago. The heat hasn’t quite picked up yet, but those who call themselves Tan Han’s supporters are frantically boosting the popularity and reposting it.”

“Tan Han’s supporters… Oh, Clownish Figures. What did they do?”

Hearing this name, I quickly reacted.

While I admit that there are rational people among Tan Han’s supporters, I have no obligation to slowly distinguish them.

At least, in my current interactions with them, what they exhibit is the appearance of Clownish Figures, and their judgment is not very sound.

In fact, they feel less capable than the members of the Little Han Support Group.

“They said… you used despicable means to steal all of Tan Han’s Spellbooks… The rest are just nasty words…”

“Is that all?”

Hearing Guan Qiuling say this, I was a little surprised.

What about the part where they took the Spellbooks back?

It couldn’t be that they want me to take all the blame for their bad deeds… oh, wait, I didn’t do anything bad.

“Mhm… and what else? They also brought up the previous Monthly Exam incident to rehash old news. It’s really disgusting. I tried to speak up for you, Big Sis Little Han, and they attacked me.”

“Guan Qiuling, thank you for your kind intentions, but you don’t need to get involved in this matter. There are always corners in the Academy Network that harbor trash. You don’t need to get yourself dirty there.”

“I just couldn’t stand it and said a few words. They even threatened to meet me offline…”

“So, you don’t need to care about these things. The people in the academy are individuals who possess Transcendent power. ’Holding a sharp weapon, the intent to kill arises.’ There’s no need to engage in a battle of words with them.”

“Then… are we just going to let this matter ferment?”

Guan Qiuling still asked with some reluctance.

“I’m not the one who should be worried about this matter; it’s Tan Han.”

“Tan Han? Why does this involve Tan… Oh, this is the good work of her supporters, but… how could Tan Han speak up for you?”

“Those Spellbooks were given to me by her.”

“Eh? But Tan Han doesn’t seem like the type to sing against her supporters for a single person…”

“That depends on what Tan Han chooses, doesn’t it? I’m not worried either way.”

After all, this matter doesn’t hinder my becoming a Teaching Assistant, and the academy won’t interfere in disputes between students.

If the academy were to interfere in such things, all the incidents that happened before would have been intervened in long ago.

“So relax. Even the main party isn’t worried yet. Just focus on your own things. If you have any difficulties with your review, you can tell me. I don’t mind helping you all out, just like last time.”

“Alright then. Thank you, Big Sis Little Han.”

Guan Qiuling finally nodded obediently.

Returning to my own bedroom, I took out my phone and briefly paid attention to the situation’s development, but I didn’t make any comments.

After all, as the person involved, any comment would only make the situation worse.

Going down there to engage in a verbal spat with them would be an unwise choice.

However, after logging onto the Academy Network, I discovered that the matter had fermented so quickly in just a few hours.

I didn’t even have to search much before posts about the relevant content were pushed to me.

After briefly understanding their tactics, I logged off.

After all, arguing with people whose worldview clashes with yours is meaningless.

But just as I was about to turn off my phone and rest for a while, I suddenly saw a specific individual trying to set the rhythm, claiming that I was having an affair with a certain Transcendent Teacher, and that Tan Han was forced to hand over the Spellbooks due to the teacher’s pressure.

I looked through the person’s information.

She was an older senior, scheduled to graduate in another year.

I thought about it.

The ones who would use this kind of language are probably only those seniors who are also trying to become a Teaching Assistant.

Otherwise, the angle is too pointed and targeted.

I couldn’t think of anyone else.

Moreover… given Tan Han’s status, if a single Transcendent Teacher wanted to pressure her, she would probably be beaten to death by the few teachers who were protecting Tan Han.

“Boring. Going to sleep.”

I turned off my phone and wrapped myself in the blanket.

I must admit, reading high-blood-pressure comments does, to some extent, help me control my emotions.

But even while I slept, the matter on the Academy Network continued to ferment.

And I, as if nothing had happened, woke up the next day and continued my Meditation and Body Forging.

Given my confidence in the written test, I didn’t waste much more time on reviewing.

I also didn’t do anything that would strain my brain cells too much, such as continuing to update the Tree of Knowledge and Appraisal Spell related matters.

Instead, I decided to do some trivial tasks that I wouldn’t usually spend time on, such as crafting my name cards, which were based on the Reverse Summoning Spell Ritual.

As I interact with more and more people now and have received name cards on many occasions, I feel it is necessary for me to create my own name cards.

If it were a general name card, I could naturally find someone else to customize it, but for some special friends, I naturally needed to make it myself.

The people worthy of receiving a name card with a Reverse Summoning Ritual function would essentially be those I cared about or who were very important, such as the Transcendent Teachers I knew.

Time flew by in a flash.

It was the day of the Teaching Assistant Assessment written test.

“This should be the right place.”

I came to the location informed by the academy.

This was the venue for the Teaching Assistant written test.

Since it was an exam, the area was under special Regulation.

The teacher standing at the entrance even needed to verify every student’s identity before allowing them through.

After my identity was verified and I entered, quite a few seniors were already gathered here, waiting for the test to begin.

Some were full of confidence and chatting with acquaintances, while others were frowning, holding small notebooks and making final efforts to compensate for what they didn’t know.

Most of them only glanced at me upon my arrival.

I did a quick scan, and there were several dozen seniors present, but still not as many as the number of people in one class.

But it made sense.

After the personal information screening, those remaining were essentially all capable individuals.

Even if they hadn’t made any special personal contributions, passing the review through personal effort, such as certification, was still the most common way.

The gap between a teacher and a student in the Witch Academy is like a chasm, which means students don’t have many opportunities to make special contributions to the academy.

Even if they do, it’s only a very small handful of people.

And coincidentally, the people gathered here were the cream of the crop of that small handful.

“Hmph You meet all kinds of people at the Teaching Assistant Assessment written test. A first-year newcomer can come here to get involved. An eyesore.”

Just as I was preparing to head to a corner to pass the time, a voice, not loud but loud enough to attract the attention of many people, reached my ears.

Many people looked over, but no one stepped forward.

Most were in a spectacle-watching posture.

“A first-year student like me can pass the information review and come to take the written test. Shouldn’t you reflect on whether you’ve been living like a dog for all the years you’ve been at the school?”

I turned my head to look at the senior who was picking a fight.

I didn’t really recognize her appearance, so I naturally wasn’t going to be polite with her words.

I could understand if it was the senior who had mocked me before, but this person… could she be someone who knew she wasn’t good enough, accepted benefits from someone else, and was pushed out to deliberately annoy me?

“Hmph, maybe you’re sleeping with one of the teachers?”

“Is that so? If you know I have connections, you still dare to come and bother me? Aren’t you afraid I’ll beat you to death?”

“You… you…”

She was immediately tongue-tied by my words, not daring to argue back, because she knew I did have connections.

She couldn’t possibly risk her life for a little benefit.

The other party was only a first-year and could stay in the Witch Academy for many years, while she was about to graduate.

Once she graduated, it meant she would not only lose the chance to become a Teaching Assistant but also cease to be a student of the Witch Academy…

Even if she obtained the right to permanently reside in the Witch Academy to ensure her safety, if this person truly became a Teaching Assistant, the other party could make her life a living hell in the academy in hundreds of ways, and outside the academy… her life would be completely out of her own control.

She didn’t dare to imagine such an outcome… She regretted stubbornly coming forward.

Don’t assume that the Transcendent Academies’ restraints on students are very strong, and that the outside world is peaceful.

That is only on the surface.

The Transcendent Academies never uphold justice; they only maintain the stability of the Main World.

She, as a senior student, had experienced the darkness that existed beneath the surface, and had even personally participated in it.

“You, you dare to kill someone? This is the Witch Academy!”

“I’m just playing around. I’m only a first-year student. How could I kill someone? I just saw you bouncing around like a clown, senior, and wanted to scare you a little. With this kind of psychological fortitude, senior… how can you become a Teaching Assistant?”

I spoke to her in a calm tone, but the cold gaze and the killing intent I unintentionally revealed made the other party’s heart jump.

As for killing people… of course, I have killed people.

Even excluding the kills in the Primal Dream State, I have killed people in reality, in Ninglan New City, and in the Small World.

And facts prove that having killed people and not having killed people give people two completely different sensations of threat.

One is a forced attempt to scare someone, and the other is the recklessness after breaking the taboo.

That sense of aggression from the eyes after the bottom line is shattered makes the gaze itself feel like an offense.

Under my aggressive gaze, the senior instinctively took a step back, and finally fell onto the ground.

“Hmm?”

I looked down at the senior, a flicker of surprise in my eyes.

The other party couldn’t be that fragile, could she?

She was a senior student, after all.

Even if she hadn’t deliberately practiced Body Forging, the all-around improvement in physical quality brought by Witchification shouldn’t have made her legs so weak that she collapsed to the ground.

But I had no intention of helping her up.

After all, if I had let myself be provoked here, I would be watched as a spectacle by everyone.

Now, she had become the spectacle, and I considered it her just deserts.

I then randomly found a corner, leaned against the wall, and closed my eyes in contemplation.

The fact that such a farce ended in this manner truly surprised many people.

The looks from the idle seniors at me inadvertently carried a hint of shock, and a few individuals even looked fearful.

I naturally didn’t see these expressions, and even if I had, I would only find it boring.

At most, I would briefly contemplate what exactly had shocked these seniors, as I wouldn’t react like that if I put myself in their shoes.

But before long, a teacher walked over.

“The formal written test will begin in half an hour. Everyone, please adjust your state. I hope you can perform at your best during the written test… Hmm? Classmate, your condition doesn’t look good. If there are any sudden problems, communicate with the teacher immediately.”

“O-okay… okay…”

The teacher saw that the person had no request and ignored her.

If the person was irresponsible toward themselves, how could they expect others to help them?

That was naturally impossible.

Following the teacher’s lead, I, along with many seniors, entered the examination hall one after another.

The space inside the examination hall was vast, utilizing Spatial Extension technology to enlarge the area somewhat.

I also felt a characteristic of Visible Spell Effect Suppression inside the room, which seemed to be used to prevent cheating.

This kind of feature was present in every Monthly Exam, but this written test seemed more advanced.

The so-called cheating using Visible Spell Effect Suppression was essentially to prevent plagiarism and the copying of others’ work.

Spells are also considered one’s own means, so spells like the Memory Bookshelf and my Tree of Knowledge Spellbook were permitted.

In fact, due to the sheer number of spells circulating in the Witch Academy, prohibiting them all was impossible, and Lesser Spellbooks were rampant.

The academy’s definition of cheating had also gone through countless revisions, eventually settling on independent completion as the bottom line.

This meant prohibiting collaborative methods for individual assessment, such as using Mind Reading Spells, Telepathic Communication, or Vision Sharing.

It wasn’t until the test papers were handed out that I quickly scanned the questions.

The corners of my mouth couldn’t help but curl up, as I knew I was pretty much guaranteed to pass this time.
