Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 476: The Last Relaxation Before the Joint Exam

After enjoying Big Sis Bai’s loving breakfast, I lay back on the bed for a while longer.

Exploring the mysteries of the body cultivator’s physical structure with Big Sis Bai yesterday went a bit too late.

Of course, it was also too intense, and the consumption was great.

Although it was just this once, if I didn’t get my body in order in time, it wouldn’t be good.

In this regard, the effects of general recovery and healing spells do not include this kind of conditioning.

And in the morning, Big Sis Bai also taught me some techniques related to the self-adjustment of body cultivators, the kind that can quickly restore one’s state without depleting one’s foundation.

Before long, feeling the replenishment of nutrition and water, as well as the conditioning of the body cultivator’s power, I was instantly resurrected with full health!

I even had the illusion that I could go through last night’s events again without any trouble.

”Recovered?”

”Of course I’m in good shape, it was just a night of fierce battle,” I said lightly, but my heart was filled with an indescribable satisfaction and joy.

”Then hurry up and take a shower. You don’t want others to find out what you did last night after you go out, do you?”

Big Sis Bai put her hand on mine as I was about to put on a new set of clothes, then pointed to the bathroom and said to me.

”Mmm... alright.”

I took a sniff.

The scent I had grown accustomed to was now highlighted by my body cultivator’s sense of smell.

It was a mixture of my scent and Big Sis Bai’s, strong and... stimulating.

Even smelling it could make me recall last night’s intense exploration.

Actually, I had no need to take a shower at all.

With my mastery and derivation of the Cleaning Spell, cleaning my body, eliminating odors, and so on were all basic abilities.

But the act of taking a shower is irreplaceable in a certain sense.

”Don’t look so reluctant. After you’ve washed up, take a nice bath and let your body completely relax. Or... do you want me to join you in the bath?”

”Yes, yes!”

”Alright then, in that case, you’ll have to wait a bit.”

Big Sis Bai said to me dotingly, then removed the large mattress, bedsheets, and other bedding that we had spent a wonderful night on.

From the looks of it, Big Sis Bai was cleaning up the battlefield.

Looking at our joint masterpiece, my face instantly turned red.

After all, seeing this and not seeing it are truly two different experiences.

Soon, in the bathroom, feeling the suitable temperature of the shower water on my body, I fully experienced the joy of bathing.

And just as I was halfway through my shower, the bathroom door was suddenly quietly opened.

”Eh? Big Sis Bai... how did you...”

Seeing the bathroom door suddenly open, I subconsciously covered my body.

The warm water vapor, under my subconscious interference, blurred my vision like a holy light, but after seeing it was Big Sis Bai, I completely relaxed my guard.

”Seeing you dawdling for so long, just clumsily rinsing with water, did you forget how I taught you a girl should clean herself?”

”Eh? I didn’t forget... no, I forgot... I’m sorry, Big Sis Bai, I’ve disappointed you so much. I actually forgot such an important thing, and now you have to teach me step by step...”

”Well, there’s nothing to be done about that...”

Big Sis Bai walked into the bathroom, her clothes quietly changed into a bath towel, and she stepped into the thick water vapor.

The thick and dense water vapor blurred the vision and also concealed the knowing smile.

”Then let’s start with cleaning your hair and maintaining its quality. Really Xiao Han, do you never pay attention to these details? A girl should treat her things better. Hair is a girl’s life, that’s no exaggeration, you know?”

Bai Yu gently stroked the wet, silver-white long hair, as if cherishing every inch like a treasure, tirelessly giving the best care to every part.

Because in her eyes, after last night’s battle, she understood that the girl before her now completely belonged to her.

To carefully care for what she loved, there was nothing wrong with that.

...

”Phew I never thought time could pass so pleasantly and so quickly.”

After a pleasant bath with Big Sis Bai, plus some previous chores, it was already noon.

Half of the day had passed, and I was now having lunch with Big Sis Bai.

No meditation that I insisted on every day, no continuous body forging, and no non-stop research on spells.

I was fully immersed in relaxation and enjoyment.

There was no time limit, but I soaked until I was comfortable.

The greatest sorrow of a person is not being able to concentrate when studying, having scruples when playing, and thinking about when it will end when relaxing.

This anxiety and internal friction were completely abandoned by me at this moment.

What ended my enjoyment was no longer a predetermined time, but an eight-tenths satisfaction and two-tenths self-discipline from the heart.

People are pleasure-seekers.

Excessive pleasure is an uncertain attitude towards future pleasure and a different kind of anticipatory compensation.

When this mentality is soothed and the future is planned, this uncertainty is eliminated.

Even with just two-tenths of self-discipline, it is enough to plan one’s own needs for satisfaction and attachment to the gentle embrace.

”Big Sis Bai, do you know how the academy plans to arrange the joint exam? Even if it’s just the freshman year, that’s still tens of thousands of people, right? How are they going to get to the Bobapus Archipelago?”

”Of course, by using the large-scale solidified teleportation spell that the academy has temporarily set up. They will be directly teleported to a designated point and dropped into the false world covering the Bobapus Archipelago, which also avoids conflicts with the tourists there.”

”Eh... speaking of which, how big is the Bobapus Archipelago? The Witch Academy alone has tens of thousands of people. If I remember correctly, although there are only about twenty academies this time compared to the exchange competition, can one archipelago accommodate more than two hundred thousand people?”

I asked worriedly.

That was... more than two hundred thousand people! About the population of a city...

Thinking about the area occupied by the Witch Academy, it was an entire Modu.

But then I thought about the ten cohorts of students at the Witch Academy, the senior sisters who stayed after graduation, and the Transcendent mentors... it didn’t seem too exaggerated.

”Xiao Han, you’re overthinking it. Not every academy is qualified to enroll over ten thousand students per cohort. You can understand the enrollment of top-tier academies as prioritizing quality over quantity. And for those small, unranked Transcendent Academies, their enrollment numbers are also limited, and their enrollment caps are strictly controlled.”

”After all, people who enter a Transcendent Academy have already detached from society and rarely return to the ordinary world. But the Main World needs a population to function, so the enrollment of Transcendent Academies cannot be like draining the pond to catch the fish. Even the three top-tier academies generally enroll in the thousands.”

”As for the other Transcendent Academies that are suppressed by those three, besides our Witch Academy which doesn’t play by the rules, none of them dare to exceed a thousand. And for those extremely rare Transcendent Academies, their sphere of influence is very small, and they only enroll a few hundred people each year.”

”Ah? Is that so?”

”Xiao Han, didn’t you know about this before? When you were choosing your preferences, you should have... well...”

Bai Yu originally wanted to say that when filling out the application, there were books summarizing the admission requirements and scores for Transcendent Academies and regular universities, and that most families would order a copy for their children to plan their future paths.

But then she recalled Xiao Han’s past...

”No, I didn’t thank you, Big Sis Bai, for telling me this.”

I took the initiative to break the awkward silence.

I was already trying to let go of the past, and I was also trying to face it without flinching.

But this place, which had accompanied me to this world and held nearly half of my memories and experiences, could still easily stir my emotions.

But in summary, when I was filling out my application back then, I really didn’t have many channels to obtain that information.

The admission scores I could reference online were only from the previous year.

I couldn’t access this year’s Transcendent Academy admission scores.

For ordinary people, the only way to access Transcendent Academies was through those special institutions, which would then uniformly release this information, and not everyone was qualified to obtain this information.

But thinking about it now... the development of everything was too far beyond my expectations.

Heaven knows how much of a surprise Teacher Ji Niang’s call was to me back then.

Thinking about it now, I actually said so much nonsense at that time; I should have just agreed directly.

”But even so, that’s still a terrifying number of tens of thousands of people. Can the Bobapus Archipelago really accommodate them?”

I still asked.

”So, Xiao Han, you should really look at a map. Anyone with a little knowledge of the world map would know how big this place is. Radiating outwards from the largest central island, Bobapus Main Island, there are 13 affiliated islands, and there are also 8 periodically emerging reefs that change with the tides. The main island alone has a complete urban construction, and although it relies on the tourism industry as its pillar, it can also be self-sufficient to a certain extent...”

I listened to Big Sis Bai’s introduction of the place we were going to, and I also took out my phone to search for information about the Bobapus Archipelago.

I found that it wasn’t much different from what Big Sis Bai had said.

To use such an archipelago for a multi-school joint practical combat test could indeed be considered... extravagant.

And I discovered that this Bobapus Archipelago is located on a volcanic belt.

Hmm... then the formation of underwater volcanoes is also very reasonable.

After lunch, Big Sis Bai and I planned to visit a market spontaneously organized by several clubs.

This was Big Sis Bai’s suggestion.

If she hadn’t mentioned it, I wouldn’t have known such a place existed.

After all, this was the final exam, and it was a rare multi-school joint exam, so the demand for supplies was very high.

The joint exam did not have too many restrictions on what was not allowed.

Alchemy items could be used, but overly outrageous ones were not allowed.

Although the value of overly outrageous alchemy items was not something a student could afford, so in essence, the control over alchemy items was not very effective.

After all, at this stage, even though the freshmen had many ways to acquire power, there were still some ordinary students who were still using ten-digit Magic Power Sources and using extremely low-consumption Lesser Spellbooks to fight.

And their strongest means might be the solidified spell on the badge of the Witch Four-Piece Set they received upon enrollment.

Don’t think this gap is very large.

The value gap between a Lesser Spellbook and a basic one-consumption spellbook is enormous.

In the Witch Academy, where it is very easy to master power, spellbooks are a representation of power and also a manifestation of ”exchangeable” value.

Perhaps... this is one of the reasons why Big Sis Bai, who climbed up from being an ordinary student, values money so much.

In the Witch Academy, being rich can really give you a head start, at least in acquiring power quickly.

After wandering around, I acquired some very interesting spellbooks and Lesser Spellbooks, and I satisfyingly added them to my Spellbook Shelf.

This feeling of filling my own spell library based on my own interests was far more satisfying than the random spellbooks obtained from competitions, or even the spellbooks Tan Han gave me.

And I heard from Big Sis Bai that in the Witch World’s Great Library, the great library guarded by the Primal Witch Lord, there are countless spellbooks.

Witches can use their Magic Power Source to exchange for any spellbook there, as long as it exists.

This made me yearn for that place.

Never before have I wanted to become a Transcendent Witch so quickly.

But it was obvious that after only half a year in the Witch Academy, I didn’t seem to have come into contact with the real method of advancement.

I only vaguely knew that it was related to the Magic Power Source, the level of life, and the so-called project.

It seemed that Teacher Ji Niang, Teacher Lina, Academy Head Mei, Academy Head Bev... they all had a tacit understanding and didn’t mention these things to me.

Even Teacher Ji Niang only mentioned it to me in a macroscopic sense, without any more details.

It was as if advancing to a Transcendent Witch too quickly was not good for me, but this was all just my speculation.

Perhaps learning a skill in the academy is really very important.

In the afternoon, I spent the time with Big Sis Bai.

If it were the old me, I would definitely think that this was a complete waste of time.

But now I would argue against that.

If I planned my life with time as before, being busy everywhere, I would be busy for a lifetime.

After becoming a witch, I have good energy and can go without sleep for a few days, but that’s not for me to use like this.

Once this mindset is formed, even reasonable rest will produce a sense of guilt.

Why should a person be so cruel to themselves in this self-taming?

When I was freed from this, I understood what it meant to be free and at ease.

The saying ”time is money” is not wrong.

If I were a poor person in life, gaining free time would be like a poor me getting a large sum of money.

But after getting the money, I wouldn’t even know how to spend it.

How sad is that?

It’s as ridiculous as how I used to not even know how to use a period of free time.

Using time is like spending money.

What is spending a little money to do big things, how is spending money considered luxury, how is spending money called value for money... what is called charity, what is called investment, what is called starting a business, what is called spending money to suffer... understanding the time of life in a different way seems to open the door to a new world.

And now, I am spending the money of time, arranging the hall that Big Sis Bai and I are walking into together, to sublimate the feelings between us.

I use rationality to control emotion, letting it become a pointer to guide my direction.

I integrate sensibility into instinct, letting my most primal heart choose how to nestle in Big Sis Bai’s heart.

Trust seems to have skipped the authentication of time, just as thought has skipped the translation of language, linking us together... ordinary and common, great and in need of no proof.

This is the sense of security Big Sis Bai gives me, pure without a trace of filth.
