Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 462: The Great Tree of Knowledge and the Tree of Wisdom’s Enlightenment

“How is that possible? How can this be…”

At this moment, Bev Ailana’s mind was filled with the phrase ”How can this be.”

She initially thought the Void Crack was the World Will’s contingency plan to destroy the [Transcendent Knowledge].

Later, realizing that was incorrect, she thought it was the Void’s feedback mechanism triggered by the fracturing of the [Transcendent Knowledge].

But when she prepared to step forward and stabilize the Void Crack, she found she couldn’t stabilize it…

There is only one situation where a Void Crack cannot be stabilized by external force: a Void Crack formed at the moment a Grand Spellbook is born.

A Void Crack and a Grand Spellbook always share an obscure, inexplicable relationship, which is also unfavorable to her.

Because… she doesn’t understand Grand Spellbooks.

Not every Transcendent Witch is skilled at creating Spellbooks, nor does every witch set the creation of a Grand Spellbook as her goal.

She only enjoys spectacle and combat.

She usually doesn’t like to stay in the Witch Academy and prefers exploring the Void outside the Main World.

That’s why she was in the first batch—besides Little Han—of the Void Exploration Team that rushed to this Small World.

And she was the first witch to prove with actual action the theory that no other naturally occurring worlds exist in the Void surrounding the Main World.

She was truly bored.

And now, this witch, who is not skilled in academic research, had to watch as this person—who was barely a Lesser Witch—actually created a Grand Spellbook right in front of her!

Although this was highly likely only touching upon the domain of the Grand Spellbook, the Void Crack could not be faked.

This was the basis for the formation of a Grand Spellbook.

Similarly, the Transcendent Energy surging within the Void Crack was the ”heart” of the Grand Spellbook.

She didn’t understand this fully, but she knew a Grand Spellbook could not lack this element…

Suddenly, she somewhat understood that old hag Mei Linde.

She truly had foresight.

The old hag probably didn’t even know that the little person she favored had already touched upon a domain that only she could reach.

But… how long has it been?

How little time has passed!

This little girl couldn’t possibly have started studying this [Transcendent Knowledge] the moment she arrived in this world, could she?

Why hadn’t she noticed it at all, even though the [Transcendent Knowledge] was still encased within that Transcendent Item?

Had she already figured out how to arrange the [Transcendent Knowledge] in her mind before even touching it?

This absurdity made her disbelieving and utterly perplexed.

And just at this moment…

As my body recovered its sensation and my senses were once again controlled by my consciousness, I suddenly opened my eyes.

But the first thing I saw was Academy Head Bev Ailana anxiously waiting in front of me, and… a Void Crack spanning between the Academy Head and me, emanating a deep, dark luminescence.

The surging Void Energy resonated with my heart, bringing an unprecedented sense of danger!

“Ha Little Han, you do know how to be afraid, don’t you? I thought you were so brave you feared nothing.”

Seeing my pupils suddenly contract upon seeing the Void Crack, Bev Ailana smiled with satisfaction.

This was indeed the expression a girl in her cognition should have.

If she hadn’t instinctively felt fear upon seeing something like a Void Crack, she would have been concerned that something was wrong with Little Han.

“Ac… Academy Head, please don’t joke like this…”

A Void Crack is no laughing matter!

As I sought help, I quickly realized that the formation of a Grand Spellbook does tear open a Void Crack.

Wouldn’t this mean that my Tree of Knowledge had now become… the Great Tree of Knowledge?

No… there should be one more step: forcing the Void Crack into the Spellbook!

But the Tree of Knowledge is one with me.

Wouldn’t that mean forcing this thing into my body?

“I’m not joking with you. Looking at you, you seem to know what you’ve done. That’s interesting. Then I’ll be generous and give you a hand.”

Although Bev Ailana said that, she had another thought internally: if she helped Little Han complete the Grand Spellbook, then she would also be considered a witch who had indirectly assisted in the completion of a Grand Spellbook!

In the future, who would dare to say she only knew how to fight!

“A hand? What do you mean?”

I hadn’t reacted yet, unsure what the Academy Head intended to do.

But in the next moment, I saw Academy Head Bev Ailana, her face full of smiles, suppressing the Void Crack with a single hand.

No matter what power surged from it, it could not shake that hand.

This scene utterly astonished me.

The previous Void Cracks could instantly annihilate a terrifying entity from outside a world.

Even Academy Head Mei Linde couldn’t have so brutally manhandled a Void Crack, could she?

“Don’t be shy, Little Han. This is the final step. Just one more step. Don’t worry, I won’t let this Void Crack hurt you.”

When Bev Ailana said this, even she couldn’t help but sound a little anxious and excited, as if she couldn’t wait any longer.

“Wait… I’m not ready yet…”

I watched the Academy Head do this.

I wasn’t sure if it was my imagination, but the Academy Head seemed even more anxious than I was.

But since things had come to this, I had no chance to resist.

I understood that Academy Head Bev Ailana must have realized something.

After all, with such a large Void Crack right here, as a Transcendent Witch, Academy Head Bev Ailana couldn’t be so unknowledgeable.

Therefore, since everything had already happened, I had to do my best to make the most of it!

“Then what should I do next?”

Bev Ailana completely suppressed the Void Crack and was now poised for action.

However, she was completely clueless about the next step, only roughly knowing that this thing needed to be integrated into the Grand Spellbook.

“This.”

At this moment, I finally understood what the Academy Head meant.

So, I pointed slightly to my chest.

The Tree of Knowledge had already become a part of me.

It could no longer be easily traded like an external object.

To remove it would require too great a cost, and it would even dissipate upon my absolute death.

What is absolute death?

It is a state where no Resurrection Spell can bring one back to life.

As the Academy Head forcibly pushed the Void Crack into my body, I also sealed off my five senses as before, and my consciousness sank into the void.

“Let me see what changes the Void Crack will bring to the Grand Spellbook…”

This was my last thought.

When my consciousness returned to the Sea of Consciousness, the gigantic tree still stood there.

It was just that at this moment, it was incredibly damaged.

The impact of the [Transcendent Knowledge] was not something that could be repaired in a moment.

And at this moment, I felt as if a hole had been violently ripped open in the void.

An endless torrent of Void Energy poured out.

The ripples of energy quietly spread, and the crack violently slammed into the Tree of Knowledge.

I felt a pang of distress, while also secretly sighing that the Academy Head’s actions were perhaps too brutal…

But I accepted the situation.

Just looking at this Void Crack, I was puzzled, as I didn’t know how to settle it.

I looked at the constantly gushing crack of Void Energy like a spouting spring.

The Void Energy here seemed to transform into invisible water surface ripples, spreading outwards in waves beneath my feet.

“Void Energy supply… Since that’s the case, then you shall be the spring at the base of the Tree of Knowledge, contributing Void Energy for the growth of the Tree of Knowledge. The Tree of Knowledge also needs energy now to repair its damage.”

I didn’t know if this was correct, but I felt it was very reasonable.

A revelation is not supported by evidence to prove its validity, but following one’s feeling won’t lead to the worst outcome.

And my approach seemed to be correct.

The Void Crack was placed beneath the roots of the Tree of Knowledge.

The roots, as if encountering long-awaited rain, plunged into the Void Crack, greedily absorbing the energy of the Void and visibly rejuvenating, with countless new branches and leaves sprouting.

But even so, the absorption of the Void Crack by the roots was limited.

I felt for the first time the fragility of the Void Crack, like a small spring unable to supply a gigantic tree.

But the flowing Void Energy rippled outwards in circles, nourishing the remaining roots, and permeating the soil formed by the [Transcendent Knowledge]…

This process was very slow, but I continued to watch, guarding against accidents.

Until the Void Energy overflowed, it seemed to transform into a thin mirror-like surface, spreading outwards, guiding the roots of the Tree of Knowledge to develop further and deeper.

“This… it really formed a Sea of Consciousness, didn’t it?”

I looked at the overflow of Void Energy from the Void Crack, which formed a small ”sea of energy.”

I had a premonition that one day, it would spread indefinitely, guiding the roots of the Tree of Knowledge to take root in even further locations.

I looked down at the ”water surface” condensed from energy.

It reflected the shadow of the Tree of Knowledge, faintly visible on the water’s surface.

I stepped across the soil formed by the [Transcendent Knowledge], my toes lightly touching the water’s surface.

Ripples spread across the energy’s mirror-like surface, and I stood upon it.

I looked down at my reflection.

It was a figure identical to me, but the other party’s movements were slightly different from mine…

No… this isn’t a reflection!

“You finally realized?”

My own voice came from the other side of the water’s surface.

“This isn’t reality. It can’t adhere to the laws of reality. The water surface doesn’t necessarily have a reflection.”

“Avatar? Why are you on the other side?”

“Is that important? Hmm… I guess it is… but I think this is quite nice. Aren’t you curious… since your reflection is me, then what is the reflection of the Tree of Knowledge?”

“It is…”

Being prompted by the Avatar, I instantly accepted this idea, because the subconscious thought and the conscious thought only needed a direct reminder to align.

Then I suddenly realized the unusual nature of this!

“Yes! What is it! We know the answer!”

Seeing my reaction, the Avatar encouraged me to say the answer.

“It is… the other Grand Spellbook we possess… the Great Wisdom Enlightenment Spell!”

I and the Avatar exclaimed in unison.

“Yes! But that still isn’t completely accurate. That Grand Spellbook has no actual linkage with the Tree of Knowledge. This reflection is the permanently existing spell effect of the Great Wisdom Enlightenment Spell! Now… this spell effect has been influenced by the Tree of Knowledge. It should be called… the Tree of Wisdom? Or the Tree of Wisdom’s Enlightenment?”

The Avatar supplemented after finishing her sentence.

“Tree of Wisdom… a very apt analogy… The void gives birth to the Tree of Knowledge, and its reflection is the Tree of Wisdom. The accumulation of knowledge promotes the germination of wisdom…”

“Yes, yes, yes No matter how you think about it, it’s correct, isn’t it? There’s no need to waste time sighing over coincidence or looking for a reasonable explanation.”

“Then what about you? Now that both you and I have a tree, what do you think I should call you? Every time I call you an Avatar or something, it sounds awkward and strange.”

“What are you doing now? I am merely your subconscious. When you no longer pay attention to me, I won’t even have subjective emotions or thoughts. I am just your cold subconscious.”

“Is that so? But I still want to have a name for you every time I see you.”

“Then… Wisdom Avatar? Or Shadow of Wisdom? I am merely an illusion formed by the effect of the Illusory Clone. I am your cold and emotionless subconscious. Your subjective consciousness is plagued by emotions and various distractions. You always make strange decisions. In short, trusting me at crucial moments is the right choice. I am the embodiment of your wisdom.”

“Alright, alright The embodiment of wisdom. Then I will call you Shadow of Wisdom.”

Even after I finished saying this, the other party did not respond to me.

Perhaps even I subconsciously felt that this was meaningless.

“Then let’s just call you that.”

Well, it seems it does have meaning after all.

But looking at the subconscious’s behavior… could it be that my inherent nature is somewhat hot and cold?

At this moment, in the outside world.

“Bai Yu, is that right? Didn’t I tell you all to step back? Do you think your foundation, having just advanced to a Transcendent Witch, can withstand a Void Crack?”

The Academy Head scolded the figure in front of her severely.

“If I can’t withstand it, then Little Han can definitely not withstand it.”

At this moment, Bai Yu was just as unyielding, even facing the Academy Head.

Despite the immense pressure, she firmly held her ground.

“Is that so? I admit I was the one who caused Little Han’s trouble, so I will protect her safety. If you were injured by the Void Crack, how would I explain it to Little Han?”

The Academy Head’s tone shifted, immediately taking the blame onto herself and tossing the problem back to Bai Yu.

This set of rhetoric immediately left Bai Yu speechless.

“This…”

“However, since you’re already here, I’ll leave Little Han to you. Catch her! If you drop Little Han, you’ll be the one to suffer the distress.”

Academy Head Bev Ailana picked up Little Han and, like ”returning the object to its original owner,” stuffed the body lying on the ground into Bai Yu’s arms.

Bai Yu immediately reacted, instinctively reaching out and catching Little Han in a stable bridal carry.

“If there’s nothing else, take her away… Wait a minute.”

“Uh… is there anything else?”

Bai Yu immediately prepared to leave when she heard she could go, but the Academy Head stopped her with a sudden turn.

She looked at Little Han in her arms and then at the Academy Head.

At this moment, all she wanted was to quickly take her back to the Main World to see if Little Han was alright.

“I heard Little Han say… she is going to be your Teaching Assistant?”

Hearing the Academy Head’s words, Bai Yu subconsciously thought the Academy Head was going to interfere with Little Han becoming a Teaching Assistant.

After all… a first-year becoming a Teaching Assistant was too astonishing.

However, she still subconsciously started to argue.

“Yes. Even you, Academy Head, should not have the right to interfere with a teacher’s choice of a Teaching Assistant, should you? And Little Han…”

“I have no intention of interfering. You should feel lucky that you found Little Han to be your Teaching Assistant…”

Bev Ailana shook her head, not bothering to dwell on it.

Her expression suggested that Bai Yu had gotten a huge bargain.

But Bev Ailana wasn’t wrong, was she?

For the upcoming Teaching Assistant Interview, she didn’t know which witches would be the interviewers, but which of those newly arrived witches had the ability to create a Grand Spellbook?

Forget ability; did they even have the experience of just watching one form?

If she weren’t so busy, she would genuinely want to go to the interview and point at those witches, asking, what qualification do you have to interview Little Han?

That would surely be entertaining, wouldn’t it?

But unfortunately, she wouldn’t do that.

She would just keep the thought to herself.

She wouldn’t even spread the news of Little Han creating a Grand Spellbook.

After all… she wasn’t some loose-lipped old hag like Mei Linde, spreading everything she knew.
