Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 460: Stripping Destiny and the Shattered [Transcendent Knowledge]

“You seem unfamiliar. Are you a new sister who hasn’t been in the academy long after the rotation?”

At this moment, one of the two teachers looked up at Bai Yu, a flicker of surprise in her expression.

After all, most of the Transcendent Witches in the Witch Academy had some impression of each other.

Witches also have excellent memories, so some overly friendly witches could practically recognize all the witches in the Main World.

Of course, some reclusive academic witches might not be recognized either.

However, the one in front of her, although she also looked young, had a trace of ”greenness” typical of a newly advanced witch.

Thus, she speculated that this might be a witch who had just rotated in to visit the Main World or something.

“Yes, my name is Bai Yu. I was also a native of the Main World.”

Bai Yu also responded with a smile.

After all, as a teacher at the Main World Witch Academy, there was no need to be cold and rude to others.

After a brief conversation with the other party, Bai Yu stepped forward, seemingly only just noticing the young woman Qiu Ruxin in front of her.

“Your name is Qiu Ruxin, right? I heard Little Han mention you.”

“Mhm…”

Qiu Ruxin looked at Bai Yu with a complicated expression, unsure of what to say.

Should she say thank you for Big Sis Little Han remembering her after returning, and even mentioning her to her girlfriend?

Although Big Sis Little Han had always said she had a girlfriend, facing Big Sis Little Han’s girlfriend directly now, the subtle pressure increased.

And there seemed to be a strange sense of being targeted, which might not even be an illusion…

Bai Yu and Qiu Ruxin’s conversation ended quickly, as they had no common ground.

Instead, Bai Yu exchanged a few words with the two teachers, catching up on the current situation.

Just as the conversation was going well, another witch arrived.

“Academy Head, why did you come over?”

One of the teachers asked in surprise.

“Oh? A new one arrived? Seeing you all chatting happily, of course, I came to check on your progress. Hmm? Little Han is here too?”

Bev Ailana scanned the room, saw the unfamiliar witch Bai Yu, and also noticed me.

“Mhm, hello, Academy Head ma’am.”

I spoke up from the side.

“You came at a very opportune time.”

Bev Ailana wasn’t too surprised by my arrival.

She was still focused on the matter of the Seed of Destiny.

“How is the progress?”

“It’s theoretically feasible now. Academy Head, if you hadn’t come, we would have started collecting experimental data. The risk is manageable, so we might as well try now.”

“A bit fast. You mean we can start attempting it now?”

“Of course. The two of us aren’t novices who have never studied Destiny.”

The two teachers spoke with the Academy Head without much sense of distance.

Sure enough, witches who actually get things done speak with confidence.

“Since the key figures are all here, let’s begin the attempt now. I heard Little Han has some matters at the academy, so we should resolve this quickly.”

Academy Head Bev Ailana said, then looked at Bai Yu, her smile carrying a hint of deeper meaning.

She had figured out the relationship between this witch and Little Han.

Little Han had just arrived not long ago and she was already chasing after her here?

“No, Academy Head, you don’t possibly include yourself as a key figure, do you? Are you sure you didn’t just come here to watch?”

“So what if I’m watching? I’m responsible for handling abnormal situations and sudden emergencies. That’s a very important position, alright?”

Academy Head Bev Ailana generously admitted the fact that she was only here to announce the start and had nothing else to do, then assigned herself the role of ”Safety Officer” and began watching the spectacle.

After all, no matter what happens, the worst-case scenario is merely the dissipation of the [Transcendent Knowledge].

Has she not personally witnessed enough [Transcendent Knowledge] dissipating?

She has long been used to it.

Not all [Transcendent Knowledge] that passes through a witch’s hands can ultimately be crafted into a Grand Spellbook.

Especially the test of the Void Crack during the final stages of crafting, a large number of Grand Spellbooks are swallowed by the Void Crack, and the [Transcendent Knowledge] is fed back to the Void in this unknown manner.

Did they really think that old hag Mei Linde put the [Transcendent Knowledge] on Little Han purely for her benefit?

She simply lacked the confidence to recreate the Great Weakening Spell again.

Furthermore, even with the same [Transcendent Knowledge], the resulting spell might not necessarily be the Great Weakening Spell.

Due to different philosophies, ideas, or approaches, it might transform into other Spellbooks.

Perhaps a Great Amplification Spell?

Or even a Great Curse Spell is possible.

So, she was preparing, ensuring everything was foolproof.

Of course, based on Bev Ailana’s understanding of Mei Linde’s personality, she probably didn’t care if the final result was the Great Weakening Spell.

She only needed to ensure that the Grand Spellbook she created could withstand the test of the Void Crack.

And she even experimented with a Great Wisdom Enlightenment Spell during this time?

She accumulated considerable experience.

The fact that she gave this Grand Spellbook to a student suggested that Bev Ailana could basically conclude she wasn’t interested in this Grand Spellbook.

If she could exchange it for two Primal Spell Sequences, she would even make a small profit.

Even if the student died completely, and the Grand Spellbook returned to the Witch World’s Great Library, she would still get some benefits from the Primal Witch.

Of course, the main reason she gave away this Grand Spellbook was that she hadn’t extensively studied and understood life.

Her only method related to life was her Metamorphic Incubation Spellbook, which she was using as a Resurrection Spell.

Therefore, she didn’t want to deal with the trouble associated with that Grand Spellbook, which was the Fool’s Dream.

“Ruxin, don’t be afraid. Just like before, sleep for a while, and everything will be over.”

Since the Academy Head had already given the go-ahead.

One of the teachers approached Qiu Ruxin and used a spell hand sign ritual in front of her.

Qiu Ruxin became drowsy.

With careful guidance, Qiu Ruxin’s consciousness fell into slumber.

This was not ordinary consciousness hypnosis, but a way to place Qiu Ruxin into a special state, making it easier for them to proceed with stripping the Seed of Destiny.

If the subsequent development proceeded as they expected and the Seed of Destiny could be stripped away, that would be ideal.

Although there was currently no way to specify the transplantation of the Seed of Destiny, it was a very rare ”material.”

That’s right.

In the Transcendent world, anything can become an experimental material, and an existence like the Seed of Destiny is no exception.

Even though it is not a physically existing seed, precisely because of this, it is difficult to strip away and difficult to store afterward.

This was, after all, the home field of the Small World.

They were not researchers specializing in the Earth Vein.

To be safe, they naturally couldn’t use the Earth Vein as a carrier.

And even if they wanted to intercept the Earth Vein, there was no witch here who knew how to do it.

At this moment, I stood on the side with Big Sis Bai, just watching.

After all, I was only there as a ”carrier.”

Big Sis Bai came purely for my sake.

If you asked about Big Sis Bai’s research in this area, she would be completely clueless.

After all, the Main World had always blocked information related to Destiny, the Script, and so on.

It was only disclosed publicly just before her graduation, and previously, any unintentional contact was heavily restricted by a contract.

I tugged at Big Sis Bai, leaning closer to her.

Big Sis Bai also instinctively reached out and put her arm around my shoulder.

Big Sis Bai and I watched everything unfold, also gaining knowledge.

After all, at this level, observation is learning, and that is not an exaggeration.

At this moment, the threads of Destiny had materialized, like chains extending from between heaven and earth, restraining the Seed of Destiny.

Even without Spirit Vision, I could see the faint golden threads around me at this moment.

However, what was visible to the naked eye was not Destiny, but rather the visible energy formed by the tension of Destiny interfering with reality due to artificial manipulation.

This fluctuation was intermittent, so these visible golden threads instantly solidified for a moment and quickly dissipated, only to jump out and dissipate again in the next moment, like skipping frames in a movie.

But from the perspective of True Time, the movement of the threads of Destiny is continuous.

I knew before that Destiny did not belong to any Transcendent Energy, but now it seems that Destiny can interfere with Transcendent Energy.

So… could I also understand Destiny as… the World Will or the World Consciousness’s Mental Power?

However, there is no evidence to support this wild guess and analogy.

All I need to do now is just watch.

This process lasted for a long time.

The teachers were very meticulous and dared not make any slight mistake.

This was an attempt that required more focus than fine surgery.

The experiment to strip away the Seed of Destiny was harder than they had imagined.

After all, theory is theory, and practice is practice.

Although I couldn’t see or understand the progress of the experiment at this moment, I could discern the state of Destiny.

The Destiny would occasionally riot, and occasionally snap.

The teachers seemed to be engaged in a strange contest with some kind of existence, and judging by Qiu Ruxin’s unsightly expression, she was not in a good state.

“Ugh… argh!”

This was one of countless times Qiu Ruxin had let out such an uncontrollable wail, her body becoming the main battlefield for the witches and the World Will.

But this time, the scream was particularly intense.

It was as if the pain pierced her soul.

The sound of the wail, accompanied by a surge of Destiny, spread outward, shaking the threads of Destiny and causing the vast majority of them to snap instantly…

But Qiu Ruxin’s consciousness was still awake at this moment.

Her eyes were wide open, as if her consciousness had returned to reality.

She seemed to have gone through a nightmare, her heart pounding, or perhaps she had experienced it firsthand.

Finally, she just took a deep breath, and as her chest rose and fell, she noticed her throat was slightly hoarse.

“Done…”

With the word ”done,” the last thread of Destiny was completely severed in my eyes.

I wondered if stripping the Seed of Destiny would have been easier if those Secret Diggers were still around, but I quickly dismissed the thought.

Because at that time, Qiu Ruxin had very little Destiny in her Seed of Destiny.

But were the teachers just severing the threads of Destiny just now?

No.

I think calling them the Destiny Chains would be more appropriate.

Truly… everything has chains…

The world’s possessiveness over its Child of Destiny is truly… powerful.

And at this moment, the emerald green Tear of Frenzied Growth she was wearing around her neck let out a crisp cracking sound.

“Attention! The seed is separating from the main body; the item is fracturing!”

Following the warning from one teacher, another teacher immediately prepared to intercept.

I also understood that it was my turn to take the stage.

I was meant to stand by and watch the whole time.

The only thing I needed to do was step forward and act as a container when the Transcendent Item shattered.

I didn’t need to do anything else and had to follow the teachers’ instructions completely.

The teacher saw me step forward and pulled my arm to usher me closer.

At this moment, fine cracks were crawling all over the emerald green Tear of Frenzied Growth.

It was clearly visible from this distance.

Bang!

With a light sound, the pendant exploded and transformed into countless fine dust particles.

Under the refraction of the sparse light, it reflected fine brilliance, mirroring countless illusory runes.

“Wait! The [Transcendent Knowledge] is also fracturing!”

The teachers who reacted were astonished.

Although they were prepared for the possibility that the [Transcendent Knowledge] might not be able to be contained, they hadn’t expected the World Will to have this kind of contingency plan.

This was a ”scorched earth” scenario—if they couldn’t succeed, they would destroy everything!

They hadn’t anticipated that the relationship between Destiny, [Transcendent Knowledge], and the Transcendent Item Ritual within this Transcendent Item was like this.

When Destiny snapped inside the Transcendent Item, the Transcendent Item was destroyed, leading to the deconstruction of the [Transcendent Knowledge], preparing it to be fed back to the Void…

“I’ve got this!”

The Academy Head, who had been watching for the right opportunity, immediately became serious.

She could accept failure, but not this kind of failure where there was no effort involved.

This was a mistake!

A mistake born from underestimation!

They hadn’t expected that a mere Small World—a world that had already been invaded by other worlds, a world that only developed by relying on [Transcendent Knowledge]—would play so many tricks on them…

They had truly underestimated it.

Or perhaps they had never seen this Small World as an enemy, but merely as a piece of fat meat ready for the taking.

They had been in the Main World for so long, relaxing for so long, that they had forgotten the inherent variability of the Void…

This strengthened her resolve to bring chaos to the Main World.

The Main World had been too peaceful for too long.

When she returned, she would definitely let those Conservative Witches masquerading as the Radical Faction know what Radical truly meant!

And at this moment, as I realized that this field of brilliance was the essence of the [Transcendent Knowledge], my vision was already covered by a blurry mosaic.

Countless runes and rituals were rushing toward me at a frantic speed.

“This is…”

In the moment my consciousness was still clear, I only managed to realize that my Perception was leaving me.

This was the absolute control over the body granted to me by Body Cultivation.

And the loss of the perception of the five senses meant my consciousness was detaching from my body.

In layman’s terms, it was… fainting.

With the loss of the five senses, my vision became a field of darkness.

No… it was a void.

Even the concept of a color like darkness didn’t exist here.

I seemed to be sinking into the depths of my consciousness until… my ”sight” was blocked by a gigantic tree.

No, it wasn’t blocked; it was… the final destination my consciousness needed to reach.

“Why are you here?”

A familiar voice came, and it was my own voice…

…

Meanwhile, in the outside world.

“Indeed… The [Transcendent Knowledge] was actually absorbed by Little Han… Wait! Something is wrong!”

Bev Ailana saw that the [Transcendent Knowledge] did not immediately feed back to the Void due to the World Will’s contingency plan.

But before she could even celebrate, a wave of fluctuation immediately made her face change drastically!

“Everyone step back! Bai Yu, you too! Don’t go near!”

Bev Ailana roared every word, but she herself rushed forward.

At this moment, on the ground where I had collapsed, space twisted.

The next moment, a deep crack tore through the fragile space.

“Damn it, is that a Void Crack? What did the World Will do to get a Void Crack to reclaim the [Transcendent Knowledge]?”

Bev Ailana’s expression was ugly, but she quickly realized that this Void Crack was opened by the [Transcendent Knowledge] itself, and she sighed inwardly…

It seemed it had nothing to do with the World Will. But this also meant that this [Transcendent Knowledge] did not recognize this container and was autonomously deconstructing to feed back to the Void…

As for Little Han creating a Grand Spellbook using the [Transcendent Knowledge]?

She immediately dismissed this conjecture.

Not only was Little Han incapable of doing so, but also… whose Grand Spellbook only had one Void Crack associated with its formation?

The crack was even barely managing to stay open, and a second one couldn’t even form.

But the necessary precautions still had to be taken.

After all, this area was already within the Void range of the Main World.

She heard that when Mei Linde created her Grand Spellbook last time, a stowaway even sneaked into the Main World.

“Which one of you will go to the Void to check? Don’t let any wandering Void Races discover the scent of the Void Crack and steal our gains. If you find any, use brute force to suppress and deter them. I will stabilize the Void Crack.”
