Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 249: Understanding the Complex Dangers and Opportunities of the Witch’s Secret Realm

A new day.

After a day of fermenting yesterday, the exchange competition has completely settled.

I only realized when I looked at my phone this morning that a lot of things happened on the academy’s website yesterday.

It’s a pity I slept a bit early and missed it all.

The exchange competition didn’t have a very formal award ceremony.

Only Lina, as the grade director, gave the final summary and closing remarks, but not many people paid attention to these.

What drew the most attention was the outrageous operation carried out by the Witch Academy.

Just yesterday, in the evening and even at night, teachers from many academies directly caused a scene at the Witch Academy, even at the Academy Head’s place, attracting a crowd of gossiping seniors.

But unfortunately, the matter was quickly dropped.

According to reliable sources, students from many academies got lost in the Witch Academy.

However, the Witch Academy responded that the disappearance of students from other academies had nothing to do with them, and they should keep a good eye on their own students.

They questioned whether they were being too strict, or if their educational methods had problems that triggered the students’ rebellious psychology, and so on.

It could be said that this gave the students who were watching the show a big piece of gossip to chew on.

The discussions about this online were hilarious, and the popularity even surpassed things like winning first place in the exchange competition.

But I think this is very good.

After all, the shift in popularity is a good improvement for my life.

Not too many people will pay attention to me, which will make me more relaxed.

Right now, there are still seniors online who are not afraid to stir up trouble, revealing that many classes in the newcomer grade have had transfer students and the like, which can be said to be another stab in the back for those academies.

After finishing with the jokes, I also had to start my daily cultivation and planning.

Currently, the things I need to do can be roughly divided into three.

The first, and most important, is meditation.

This is the main method to improve mental power, and the key is perseverance.

So, in my plan, meditation is for every morning, not for a long time, half an hour to an hour.

After all, you can’t guarantee that you can continue the boring meditation for several hours and keep it up.

I don’t know if something will happen to me, and meditation can’t be rushed.

Of course, the most important thing is that meditation cannot replace sleep.

Next is the foundation of theory.

At this stage, I plan to focus on Runology, which will also provide the theoretical basis for the cultivation of the third item, technique.

But after being enlightened by Teacher Ji Niang, I am no longer limited to my inherent understanding of technique.

Technique is divided into many types, such as combat technique, the art of using spellbooks, or body forging and strengthening, and the technique of physical arts.

There are also non-combat techniques, such as potion-making, elixir-making, alchemy, and so on.

These techniques are all means of utilizing transcendent energy and runic rituals, and also a form of expression.

How to use them also depends on how you play with them.

For example, potion-making and alchemy can also be used in combat, so the classification of technique into combat and non-combat is not rigorous, but it is easy to understand.

What Tan Han taught me was not only the importance of combat skills and techniques, but she also opened up this line of thinking for me.

This is what she truly taught me.

Otherwise, I would still be stuck in modding spellbooks and unable to extricate myself.

Even Teacher Ji Niang told me to calm down.

And I have also felt that modding spellbooks has now become extremely difficult, and the higher the consumption of the spellbook, the harder it is to modify.

It’s time to start from other places.

Teacher Ji Niang’s recommendation of the Witch’s Secret Realm for me was not simply to let me hone my combat skills.

In the Witch’s Secret Realm, one can also obtain the essence of many techniques to learn.

They are not like items that can be taken away; they will be permanently solidified in the secret realm, waiting for people to discover them.

Otherwise, if a secret realm was full of prizes that could be taken away, it would soon be scrapped.

Because once the rewards are all taken, the secret realm would be useless, unless the academy feels that the trial of this secret realm is very valuable and will regularly drop supplies.

But this cannot guarantee that such a secret realm will last for a long time.

A day’s plan starts in the morning.

After meditation, I’m also preparing to go and check out the Witch’s Secret Realm.

I had previously learned a lot about it from the Witch’s Secret Realm Club in the academy system.

After following the Witch’s Secret Realm Club, it appeared on my phone’s desktop like a small program, where I could directly queue or make an appointment.

But it seems that payment cannot be made there.

After all, the fees collected by the club are actual transcendent materials like Red Copper and Mithril, so payment is naturally made on-site.

I didn’t think too much about it.

And I also started to casually browse the information about the secret realms on my way there.

The level of secret realms I looked at were all Red Copper level.

After all, one must have self-awareness.

Going for something too high-level would just be asking for trouble.

Teacher Ji Niang had seriously warned me not to be too ambitious when choosing a Witch’s Secret Realm, and not to think that having over a thousand Magic Power Sources and a Super Consumption Spellbook was very powerful.

But power without technique is just an empty shell.

I deeply agree with this point.

Power without technique is indeed like a lamb waiting to be slaughtered.

You think you are very strong, but in the eyes of others, you are just a fat sheep that can be robbed at will.

At this stage, and even until I become transcendent, the transcendent power I possess has never been my own.

Magic Power Sources... spellbooks, all of these can be stolen!

But the technique I have mastered is always my own!

This cannot be stolen.

Each level has a corresponding technique.

I can now learn to use spellbooks, physical arts, and even alchemy and potions.

When I become stronger and my mental power can interfere with magic power and Magic Power Sources, then I can master the technique of elixirs.

When I achieve transcendence, I can master True Editing, Magic Power Source shaping, and so on...

This also tells us what we should really learn in the Witch Academy.

We should learn technique and theory, not power.

Of course, gaining power at this stage also needs a certain weight.

After all, the more Magic Power Sources one has, the faster one’s witchification will be, and the faster one can reach the next level.

This is a positive cycle.

Those who understand this logic first can learn theoretical knowledge and improve themselves one step ahead of others.

Then they can use this to cultivate technique.

Mastering technique allows them to gain power, and gaining power allows them to obtain more resources.

The reverse is also true.

It can be foreseen that the Witch Academy will also be a very polarized academy.

It’s just that the harmonious atmosphere displayed in this academy reduces this sense of anxiety.

It also gives many people room to slack off.

For example, Big Sis Bai introduced me to Senior Yisha Yuan.

She has already graduated.

After normal graduation, there will be no more resource allocation from the academy.

Even if you can stay in the Witch Academy, you can only rely on your own means to obtain resources.

The elixir-making skill that Yisha Yuan has mastered is also a manifestation of technique.

It seems that the technique of elixirs is very important.

After all, it is a subject that requires magic power to cooperate, and it is also a unique calling card of witches.

It can be said that I have already booked the technique related to elixirs for the future.

And now, I need to lay the foundation and have the most basic power to protect myself from outside interference and plunder.

I learned from Big Sis Bai that there will really be seniors who bully others, just for the spellbooks in my hand.

At this stage, I have a Super Consumption Spellbook on me.

One can imagine that after the rewards for the exchange competition are distributed, the real ”war” will just be beginning.

Countless people will come, whether they come to trade with a good attitude or to rob with an extremely bad attitude.

What they will bring me is endless trouble.

And I soon arrived at the headquarters of the Witch’s Secret Realm Club.

On the way, I saw many secret realms in the academy system.

Although they were very attractive, I still hadn’t made a final choice.

When you don’t know anything, it’s best not to make a choice blindly, so I chose to go to the club and ask the senior sisters there.

I guess they would be willing to spend time explaining it to me after knowing my identity, right?

After all, I’m a celebrity now.

Even if they don’t know, I naturally can’t force them.

But as soon as I got here, I found that the club headquarters was ridiculously large.

Even now, in the morning, a large number of seniors had already gathered here, each with their own weapons and equipment.

It could be said that they were very well-prepared.

And I was just in a sportswear with a thigh strap, a magic wand, a witch cape to cover my figure, and a witch hat to cover my appearance.

It seemed like there was nothing else.

It seemed that many seniors were preparing for a long-term battle in the Witch’s Secret Realm.

On the way here, I also saw that the exploration of some secret realms was very fast, while some took a lot of time.

Some secret realms even had a special tag for long-term exploration, and some directly stated in the remarks that it would take at least a month to several months to explore them all.

Alright, that’s really exaggerated, but these are indeed suitable for senior sisters.

High investment, high return.

After all, we low-grade students need to attend three years of classes with a curriculum, while senior sisters don’t have this kind of trouble.

I came in disguise, and my white hair seemed a bit out of place.

But in the Witch Academy, there were quite a few people with different colored hair.

Perhaps some of them had dyed their hair, while others seemed to have cultivated special techniques or had it happen for other reasons.

Under Spirit Vision, the information conveyed by this kind of change was fundamentally different from that of dyed hair.

To get to the Witch’s Secret Realm Club, you need to bring your student ID card or a phone bound to your student ID card to register here.

Entering a secret realm naturally requires real-name registration, and you also need to pay a fee.

You can see that the members of the Witch’s Secret Realm Club here all wear the same uniform, and there seem to be a lot of members.

Many of them are quite busy.

I don’t know if this club is still recruiting people, or if there are any internal price discounts or information.

I finally understood why Xia Li’s Bakery Club had no one.

Because a club like this really couldn’t bring any help to newcomers.

Only those who were slacking off, or seniors with special hobbies would stay for a long time.

For example, the slacking Senior Ying Shiqian, and Senior Tang Yihan, who liked to try various new baking methods and was good at making dark cuisine.

It is estimated that the newcomers who were tricked into joining the club by the shop manager will soon discover this essence.

After a period of time, it is estimated that there will be a wave of withdrawals from the Bakery Club.

At this moment, I came back to my senses and was looking around.

After all, it was my first time here.

The busy club members didn’t take the initiative to introduce me with the same enthusiasm as when I was taking the flying license test.

I even had to go to the front desk to ask.

Fortunately, there was a special place for consultation.

”Hello, classmate. Is there anything you need to ask?”

”Oh, it’s like this. It’s my first time in the Witch’s Secret Realm. Could you give me a brief introduction to the secret realms?”

”First time?”

This senior was a little curious, and even a little incredulous in her eyes.

After all, in her perception, the intensity of the other party’s Magic Power Source feedback was already in the high hundreds or even thousands.

And this was the first time?

Was she trying to fool her?

If it weren’t for the fact that the other party wasn’t recording a video on their phone or anything, she would have thought they were here to make fun of her.

But out of her own professionalism, and the mentality that she probably couldn’t defeat the other party, she still quickly put on a smiling face and began to explain to me.

”Our Witch’s Secret Realm Club is mainly responsible for the management and maintenance of the Witch’s Secret Realms, as well as the registration of students entering and leaving the academy. The Witch’s Secret Realms are created by successive graduates who have become Transcendent Witches...”

”Oh, I’ve heard about that. Let’s talk about the common knowledge of the secret realms.”

I interrupted her.

”Okay, then I’ll continue to talk about the classification of the secret realms and the related fee matters. The classification of the Witch’s Secret Realms is roughly divided into combat trials, secret realm puzzles, mission secret realms, narrative secret realms, and so on. Since you know how the secret realms came to be, you should know that there are no clear restrictions on the creation of the secret realms, so these divisions are only rough divisions. There is also a large part of the secret realms that can only be classified as special secret realms due to their special nature. Many secret realms are composed of a combination of various tags, and the internal situation is complex.”

”Those graduated seniors will also give back to the Witch Academy a secret realm in the form of releasing missions. Those secret realms may be ruins or secret rooms that those seniors obtained from somewhere unknown, and then they are thrown here as Witch’s Secret Realms without any modification. Many of these secret realms are still hanging on the academy system’s mission board with a bounty.”

”Of course, personally, I don’t recommend going to these secret realms. Some secret realms are one-time use. If you don’t complete the corresponding mission and damage the secret realm, you may be asked for compensation. Generally, those that require compensation will be additionally stated in the corresponding mission, so you don’t have to worry about being scammed.”

”Oh, there’s something like that? I just want to experience a secret realm today, preferably one with a short process or one that I can quit at any time. Is that possible?”

I asked.

”Of course, that’s possible. The secret realms generally have corresponding tags before entering, and there will be a prompt on them indicating how long it will probably take. But this may fluctuate depending on individual strength.”

”In addition, the Witch’s Secret Realm Club reminds you that when exploring the secret realms, your own safety is the top priority. Although our club has special resurrection spells and healing spells, the rescue, consumption, and compensation for losses caused by these will need to be borne by you. In addition, we also have a loan service here, which is a special loan for those who are unable to repay the fees for resurrection and so on. With the intervention of the academy, this is an interest-free loan, and you can even apply for subsidies and so on.”

”O... okay, thanks for the reminder.”

I didn’t expect the Witch Academy to actually have something like this.

Then death in a secret realm would really be death, the kind that requires a resurrection spell.

They even have loans.

”Then let me introduce you to the payment situation. You should know that we don’t accept ordinary money here, only transcendent materials, mainly Red Copper, Mithril, and Arcanite Gold, right?”

”Yes, I’ve heard of it. So it’s roughly divided into these, right?”

I asked.

”Indeed. Under normal circumstances, we use these three transcendent materials as the main currency of circulation. If its other transcendent materials, we will convert them into these three materials based on the current market price of the academy for statistics.”

”In addition, we support student ID cards here to create a secret realm identity card, which can be bound to a mobile phone, and can also be used to store transcendent materials in advance. It also supports online payment. The remaining transcendent materials can be withdrawn at any time. In addition, our online payment does not support external transactions, please pay attention to this.”

”Alright...”

I didn’t expect them to have online transactions here.

I just don’t know how the supervision is.

Since they have been able to exist here stably for so long, it means that their reputation is still very good.

It’s a bit like the Witch Cat Cafe where you can deposit money.

So for convenience, I’m also preparing to apply for it directly.

”Wait, it shows here that you have already applied for our Witch’s Secret Realm identity card... Yang Yuehan... the student ID card information is correct... wait? Yang Yuehan?”

The senior suddenly raised her head to look at me and then at the student ID card I handed over.

”Don’t be too loud.”

At this moment, I dispelled my disguise.

After she saw it clearly, I changed back.

”Because I don’t want to be bothered, I disguised myself a bit. Don’t mind it too much. I didn’t take someone else’s student ID card.”

”Oh oh! Okay, okay, I understand, I understand!”

The senior quickly made a gesture to show that she understood.

”It shows here that you have already applied. You may not have noticed. For a genius like you, we have already processed it for you. I didn’t expect you to come to us so soon. It’s truly an honor. We have already sent a letter to your residence. If you find it troublesome, I can help you bind it to your phone directly here. In addition, we have also provided you with initial funds.”

”Ah, this... you know quite a lot, huh...”

I didn’t expect the Witch’s Secret Realm to also send me this.

The Witch Cat Cafe, the Witch’s Secret Realm...

Are they all trying to flatter me too much?

But this kind of thing is also equivalent to making connections and investing in advance.

For them, it’s a sure-win situation.

Even the so-called initial funds should be insignificant to them.

I took out my storage equipment and found the letter sent by the Witch’s Secret Realm among the large pile of unopened letters.

I looked at this stack of letters and secretly marveled that there were indeed many places in the Witch Academy that I hadn’t been to.

Why not just treat it as opening blind boxes and experience them one day when I have nothing to do?

I don’t even have to decide where to go to play.

”This should be it.”

I opened the envelope and took out a card, handing it over.

”I didn’t expect you to carry these with you. I’ll handle it for you right away. Currently, there are one hundred Arcanite Gold in this account. If you want to withdraw it, you can do so at any time.”

At this moment, even the senior’s address became much more respectful.

It seemed that I had still underestimated my own value.

This was a hundred Arcanite Gold for free!

Not Red Copper or Mithril, but Arcanite Gold.

This stuff was expensive.

I was originally thinking of saving some Mithril to experience the Red Copper secret realm, but now I’m suddenly rich.

”In addition, I would also like to remind you that the secret realms are not a joke. Even though Xiao Han... you are very strong, please don’t challenge the Arcanite Gold ones right away, and don’t even rashly go to the Mithril ones. It’s best to experience the Red Copper secret realms first to get a feel for it.”

”I know that, but thanks for the reminder.”

”It’s nothing, it’s what I should do.”

After bidding farewell to this senior, I also started to choose the secret realm I was going to try.

Today, the main goal is to experience it, not to seek any gains.

Anyway, the fee for entering the secret realm is free.

This suddenly made my mood for the day much better.
