Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 140: Negative Rumors Spreading Before It Even Begins

I returned to the dorm.

Hong Chenyi was already waiting in the living room, seemingly to express her apologies for returning early.

“I’m sorry, Big Sis Xiao Han, I didn’t mean to abandon you in the Meditation Room. I… I was also thinking…”

“It’s fine, I don’t mind. Your being so concerned makes it seem like we’re strangers.”

I waved my hand, indicating I had no issue with it.

There was no need to be so petty about this.

However, I was a bit surprised by the dishes on the table in the dining room not far from the living room.

“Wait, who made the food on that table?”

“Huh? Oh! That was made by Little Yu. Little Yu really likes to cook, but the flavors are a bit bland. You’ve been so busy every day, Big Sis Xiao Han, you probably haven’t seen Little Yu cook, have you?”

Hong Chenyi explained, looking in the direction I pointed.

I had seen Yu Yetian cook quite a few times, but I was just not used to having a chef in the villa.

“I’ve seen her a few times in the morning. What’s going on this time? Did it stay until now?”

“Mm… I’ll tell you quietly, Big Sis Xiao Han, the dishes Yu Yetian made today are a bit… unique. None of us could eat them, so they were left there. Little Yu was planning to eat them tomorrow. She’s probably in her room crying little pearls right now because her dishes weren’t popular.”

“Mm… okay.”

I sighed, holding my forehead, but I couldn’t really imagine Yu Yetian crying little pearls.

Still, I couldn’t help my curiosity and walked over to see what it was.

After all, we were roommates in the same villa.

Even if the food was plain, everyone would at least try a bite, unless it was truly inedible.

When I got closer, I saw that there were indeed a lot of dishes on the table, but most were bland vegetables, which wasn’t very appetizing, but they shouldn’t be inedible, right?

“Big Sis Xiao Han, do you want to try it? It’s the kind with no salt.”

“Ah?” I listened to Hong Chenyi, who leaned in and whispered to me, and I blurted out.

No salt?

Is this to ascend to immortality?

In the end, I gave up on the idea of trying it.

I didn’t want to torture my taste buds.

It was better to rest well today and think about it tomorrow.

“Oh, wait, Big Sis Xiao Han, are you just going back to sleep? Your schedule seems a bit too healthy, don’t you think? And aren’t you curious about your ranking?”

“Huh? What ranking? Is it that one you mentioned before?”

I was stunned and asked.

Yu Yetian had also told me about it before.

It was a forecast of the combat power rankings for the upcoming Class vs. Class competition, a post on the academy’s website.

I heard it was quite popular, but I didn’t have the time to look at it.

Besides, didn’t they say I wasn’t ranked on it?

Is there a ranking for me now that a day has passed?

“That’s right! It’s that one. Someone has already made a detailed analysis based on your battle today, and you’ve been ranked outside the top 100! They are so mean!”

Hong Chenyi’s tone was very excited and she was very angry on my behalf.

“It’s fine, don’t get mad over someone else’s subjective assumptions. I don’t care.”

I said soothingly.

“But their comments about you are very unfriendly, Big Sis Xiao Han! And they even dug up your Course Exemption and compared you to Tan Han from Class 1! They devalued you to nothing, it makes me so mad!”

But it was obvious that Hong Chenyi didn’t give up because of my words.

It seemed the evaluation of me on that post was really very unfriendly.

Sigh…

It’s a bit of a headache.

Should I show my strength at an appropriate time?

After all, I represent the entire Class 14.

If I am humiliated, the entire class will lose face.

However, those who love to watch drama can never be completely eliminated.

I am very aware of this.

Unless I can make them shut up once and for all, they will always be like disgusting bugs that you can’t get rid of.

Never mind, I’ll go to the class group chat to comfort my classmates before I sleep.

Since Hong Chenyi has seen it, others in the class must have seen it too.

As long as I guide them a little, it won’t be long until the whole class knows.

Before I went to sleep, I sent a message in the group chat.

I just said hello and was immediately surrounded by complaints from many people.

I have to say that sometimes the information they get is more than what I, the Class President, get.

They would send me screenshots from time to time to have a look.

I had planned to go to sleep to replenish my Mental Power after Meditation since I had consumed a lot of it.

But now, these forced screenshots and provocations were giving me a headache.

I do have a temper, but I can’t do anything about this now, so I can only take the lead in comforting them.

After a while of this commotion, I finally fell into a daze and went to sleep.

The next morning, I woke up much later than usual and even felt like I wanted to continue sleeping.

After getting up, I opened the class mutual aid group, which still had the chat history from their late-night chatter.

Even in the morning, people were still chatting.

But then I saw a greeting from Big Sis Bai, which was sent in the middle of the night.

Was Big Sis Bai not asleep at that time?

I quickly read the content, and it was also about the recent popular ranking prediction and information summary post.

Seeing Big Sis Bai’s comfort so early in the morning made me feel a lot better.

After a simple reply that I was fine, I started planning my day.

By my estimation, the Class vs. Class competition will officially begin the day after tomorrow.

That means I still have today and tomorrow to prepare.

The academy has now officially announced the participants for each class, and it can be viewed on the Academy System.

It was then that I found out there were 364 classes in Witch Academy!

If each class has a similar number of people as our Class 14, then the number of recruits is indeed quite large.

But compared to the whole world, it’s not a lot.

And let’s not forget the tireless efforts of our seniors.

The talented newcomers they recruited are also a significant number.

More than three hundred classes, and in the end, only more than three hundred people will be on the stage.

If we were to rank them, how long would that take?

However, the academy notice stated that the Class vs. Class competition would be held in the academy’s largest open-air arena, divided into different zones.

I had never been there before.

So, today, I planned to first visit the seniors of my club.

It had been a while since the classes started and I hadn’t been there.

After that, I would go to the arena to get a lay of the land and familiarize myself with the venue.

I would spend the remaining time studying my Summoning Spell: Feline, and think about how this cute little cat would help me in battle.

But just as I was about to leave, my phone buzzed again.

It was a message from Big Sis Bai.

I had set her to a special notification, so I knew it was her.

Bai Yu: Xiao Han, have you woken up yet?

Yang Yuehan: I’m up Big Sis Bai, why are you contacting me so early?

Bai Yu: Nothing, did you sleep well last night?

Yang Yuehan: It was alright.

Big Sis Bai, just say what you want to say.

Bai Yu: Okay, Xiao Han, you haven’t been affected by what they’re saying on the academy network, right?

Yang Yuehan: Of course not.

I’m not the type of person to be easily affected by what others say.

Bai Yu: Mm, I believe you.

I’m coming over to find you.

I have something to give you.

Bai Yu: I should have given it to you earlier, but it was delayed.

Where are you now?

I’ll come find you.

Yang Yuehan: I’m about to go to the bakery.

I haven’t been there for a while.

How about I wait for you there?

Bai Yu: Okay, I’ll get there as soon as I can.

I stared blankly at the messages on my phone, and only after confirming that Big Sis Bai hadn’t replied again did I put away my phone.

The bakery was not far from where I lived, just across the street.

I could get there quickly, and I didn’t even need a broom.

When I arrived at the bakery, it was already open and seemed to have quite a few customers.

It appeared that as more students lived nearby, the number of customers increased.

No more slacking off now.

“Senior Ying Shiqian, so busy this morning?”

I walked into the bakery, picked up a bag of bread for my breakfast, and went to the counter to pay.

The person at the counter was now Senior Ying Shiqian.

“Hmm? That’ll be… Oh? Xiao Han? You’re here?”

Senior Ying Shiqian, who was mindlessly repeating her actions, was interrupted by my words.

Then she realized that the person in front of her was me.

“Yes, surprised, aren’t you, senior? I came to visit you”.

I quickly paid and moved to the side so as not to hold up the line.

“Xiao Han, I thought you had forgotten about me, your senior. You must have come to save me from this place!”

At this moment, Ying Shiqian excitedly grabbed my hand as if she had seen a savior.

After all, during the pre-semester period, this was my special spot.

I hadn’t been here for a while, so for Ying Shiqian, who loved to slack off, this busy period was the greatest pain.

It wasn’t that there were a lot of customers, but the frequency was higher than before.

The time for slacking off became more fragmented and not a whole block.

This was a completely different experience.

“Alright, alright seriously.”

I looked at the time.

Big Sis Bai would be here soon, and I would probably be here for a while, so I could help out.

“Wait for me, I’ll go to the back to change and come help.”

Just as I was about to head to the changing room in the back, a figure appeared and blocked my way.

“Huh? Senior Tang Yihan, long time no see.”

A hint of surprise flashed in my eyes, and I immediately greeted her.

“Xiao Han, don’t come here to join the fun. Aren’t you the Class President of Class 14 now? Don’t waste your time here.”

As she said this, Tang Yihan’s gaze turned to Ying Shiqian.

“Shiqian, what were you thinking? Asking Xiao Han to help? Xiao Han has more important things to do. I asked you before if you needed help, and you said no, complaining that it was tiring. I’m not saying I can’t help at the front.”

“Uh… that… I’m sorry, Xiao Han, I, I forgot. Oh, senior, I apologize to you, Xiao Han. Forget about it. What I just said doesn’t count. What do you want to eat this morning? Take whatever you want here!”

“Ying Shiqian, if you do that, I’ll put it on your account!”

“Ah? Oh… wuwuwu, I don’t even earn much and you’re still so stingy…”

At this moment, Senior Ying Shiqian once again became a crying and wailing mess.

It seemed that Senior Tang Yihan’s suppression of Senior Ying Shiqian was still quite terrifying.
