Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 129: The Announcement of the Class President and Vice Class President

Ji Niang’s gaze swept across the class.

She didn’t care about the Class President position being pre-determined.

So what if someone objected?

She wouldn’t care about these things.

Most of the rules at Witch Academy could be resolved with strength.

Therefore, the Class President was basically a representative of the class’s strength and an individual who spoke for the class.

As for management ability, that was secondary.

Witch Academy was very supportive of competition, whether it was inter-class competition or internal class competition.

Strength was the foundation for having a say.

”Come, Yang Yuehan, come up and say a few words to everyone.”

Ji Niang’s gaze fell on me.

With Ji Niang’s action, most of the class noticed me as well.

Most of the people in the class knew there was a Class President, after all, they had been pulled into a group right at the start of school, but most of them didn’t know what this Class President looked like.

I took a deep breath and adjusted my state.

It would be a lie to say I wasn’t nervous in front of so many people, but since it was already like this, it would be rude if I didn’t say hello to everyone.

I got up and walked to the side of the podium.

Actually, I was in the front row, so it was just a matter of turning around.

”Hello everyone, my name is Yang Yuehan, and I will be the Class President of Class 14. This is our first meeting. I believe everyone knows I exist, but this is the first time we’ve met. I hope we can all work hard together and reach a higher level. If you encounter any difficulties at the academy in the future, you can also contact me, and I will do my best to help you solve them.”

I bowed slightly to show respect, and then politely began to introduce myself.

My wording, I think, was okay.

At least I didn’t stutter when speaking in front of so many people.

I considered that a success.

After I finished speaking, Hong Chenyi was the first to lead the applause.

As the ’hype man,’ Hong Chenyi’s behavior naturally brought on a wave of applause from the class.

As the applause died down, I glanced at Ji Niang to see if she had any other arrangements.

If not, I would go down.

Standing up there with so many girls looking at me felt like I was a monkey in a zoo.

”Wait! Teacher, I heard from people in other classes that the Class President is elected. It doesn’t seem like she has the approval of the whole class to be our Class President, right?”

A sudden voice attracted my attention.

The voice came from a girl in the back row.

From her tone, you could feel a strong sense of defiance.

At this moment, I remembered what Hong Chenyi told me yesterday about someone in the group being unhappy with my Class President position.

It must be this person, right?

”Student, I appreciate you so frankly raising your objection. I said I would help everyone solve problems. Does what you said just now mean you have a better candidate in mind? Can you tell us who it is?”

I sighed internally.

As expected, this Class President position would not be so smooth.

So I spoke directly.

”I... I have objections to your ability! What gives you the right to be directly appointed as our Class President without a say?”

When I said this, the girl’s face didn’t have the guts to directly say that she wanted to be the Class President.

She just directly rebutted and questioned my ability.

”We are all new students entering the academy. We have said goodbye to our ordinary lives and stepped into the transcendent world. Everyone is starting from the same point. I just arrived at the academy a little earlier than everyone else and adapted to the academy life ahead of time.”

Saying this, I paused, took a deep breath, and adjusted my state.

”If you feel that I am not worthy of the Class President position in the future, I will naturally not cling to this position. But for now, I can provide help to everyone. If you don’t know something, you can ask me directly, and I will also...”

Just as I was trying to reason with everyone, I was interrupted by Teacher Ji Niang.

I had originally wanted to seize the initiative first and suppress the other voices in the class to secure my position as Class President.

After that, I would slowly grow stronger, and then I wouldn’t have to care about their gazes, because strength was the foundation for having a say.

But Ji Niang wouldn’t wait for me to waste time convincing the entire class.

The selection of a Class President was a very simple matter for Ji Niang.

She didn’t want to waste time.

”As for the selection of the Class President, I don’t care how other classes do it. The class I lead will naturally follow my rules!”

Ji Niang’s previous gentle attitude was gone.

Her words at this moment made the entire class a little unresponsive, but after this sentence, Ji Niang started to explain again.

But this was something she said on purpose.

”Not long after school starts, the academy will hold the first confrontation between new students. Specifically, it’s a confrontation between the Class Presidents of each class. A confrontation between Transcendent beings can lead to death, and I might as well tell you that the Class President of Class 1 is this year’s top student, Tan Han.”

Saying this, Ji Niang didn’t continue.

As soon as she said the word ”death,” she saw fear and retreat in everyone’s eyes.

It seemed that the first class she was in charge of didn’t have any fearless weirdos.

But this couldn’t be forced.

”Snap out of it, everyone. Since no one has any objections, this matter is settled.”

Ji Niang’s simple words put an end to this matter.

As for objections?

Did she look like someone who would listen?

”After I explain a few more arrangements, this class meeting will be over. Now, there’s a small problem. Your Class President has already obtained course exemptions. So when it comes time for class, we’ll need a Vice Class President to be in charge of managing the class and listening to the teacher’s teaching arrangements. Since someone just expressed a desire to be the Class President, I don’t mind letting her give it a try.”

As soon as Teacher Ji Niang finished speaking, everyone’s eyes turned toward the person who had just raised an objection.

After all, wasn’t her behavior just now a desire to be the Class President?

Yesterday, someone in the group had also incited everyone not to accept the current Class President.

Now it seemed it was most likely this person.

”Why... Why is everyone looking at me? I...”

”Student, stand up and tell everyone your name loudly.”

As soon as Ji Niang said this, the girl uncontrollably stood up.

From her flustered expression, it was clear that this was not what she wanted.

”I... I’m... Tu Xingyue.”

”Be more confident. Where’s the tone you had when you were speaking just now? How can you manage your classmates in class and cooperate with the teacher’s teaching like that?”

”I... I am Tu Xingyue. I... I’m very honored to be the Vice Class President, and I will do my best to fulfill the duties of a Vice Class President.”

After experiencing her initial panic, Tu Xingyue quickly adjusted her state.

She was indeed scared by Ji Niang’s words just now.

She was afraid of dying, even if it was just a possibility.

She hadn’t mastered any transcendent methods.

She had no absolute confidence in the upcoming confrontation.

But if it was just a Vice Class President who assisted with management and teaching, she was confident.

After all, she had been a Class President before and had experience in class management.

”Since the Class President and Vice Class President have been decided, let’s talk about some of the things you need to pay attention to as new students and the academy’s rules...”

After that, it was Teacher Ji Niang’s time to take the stage.

I silently returned to my seat and began to listen to the teacher’s explanation of the academy’s rules.

This kind of thing was very important.

It would be very bad if I accidentally broke a rule.

Speaking of which, I remembered the Witch Academy Disciplinary Squad.

Their combat power was truly terrifying.

I didn’t want to get on their bad side.

At this moment, Hong Chenyi kept whispering to me.

Even though she was in the front row, she was still so talkative.

Wasn’t she afraid that Ji Niang would come up and give her a big slap?

”Big Sis Xiao Han, did you know about this beforehand? You seem so calm.”

”Big Sis Xiao Han, are you really not afraid of dying?”

”Say something. It’s a duel between Class Presidents. Do you feel confident, Big Sis Xiao Han?”

”We’ll talk after class.”

In the face of Hong Chenyi’s three consecutive questions, I only gave a faint reply.

After all, I didn’t want to be caught by Teacher Ji Niang talking in class.

However, Teacher Ji Niang’s explanation was very quick.

She basically just read out the general content for us and then told us how to check the academy rules ourselves.

These rules could also be found in the Academy System on our phones.

After that, this class meeting came to an end, and she even reminded the class about tomorrow’s classes and other things.

As soon as the class ended, I saw many girls walking straight toward me, seemingly wanting to get close to me or ask some questions.

Of course, I didn’t mind this.

After all, helping them was an easy way to build friendships.

The more you lack something, the more you yearn for it.

I, who didn’t have friends before, naturally hoped that people would want to be my friends.

Even if they were doing it because of my position as Class President, I didn’t mind.

After all, friendship was also a form of mutual benefit, a kind of mutual self-satisfaction.

At least, that’s what I thought.

Even if they were just superficial friends, seeing them smile when we met would still make me happy.

But soon, I was pulled away by the teacher, and I had no choice but to apologize to them for leaving temporarily.

”Little Han, there’s one more thing I need you to do. It’s a troublesome task. There are still some people in the class who didn’t show up. Go and get them to sign the contract. You can use forceful methods. Also, tell them about some of the things I talked about in class. Of course, you don’t have to. After all, no one will pay for their capriciousness.”

As Ji Niang spoke, she handed me the extra contracts and pens.

”Understood.”

I took the contracts and pens and agreed quickly.

Although this was another very troublesome thing.

Just as I turned to leave, Ji Niang called out to me again.

”Little Han, wait. Take this. It’s the promise I made before.”

Ji Niang took out a beautifully crafted broom from her storage equipment and threw it to me.

I awkwardly caught it with both hands.

”This...”

”You can use it for now. Hurry up. I’ll be waiting for you in the lab.”

”Thank you, Teacher!”

I thanked her sincerely.

After all, this broom was very expensive!

Although it looked like it had been used for a long time, it was well-maintained.

The feel of it was not something the brooms from the flying test could compare with.

The moment I got on the broom and flew, the students who hadn’t left yet looked at my rapidly departing back and let out gasps of shock.

”F... flying!”

”Huh? Has someone already learned to fly?”

”As expected of the Class President. It’s a good thing I didn’t try to stand out.”

”I want to fly too.”

”Me too. I’ll go buy a broom then.”

”Why is she riding a broom? Won’t it hurt her butt?”

”Isn’t a witch riding a broom a standard thing? You don’t even know that?”

At this moment, Ji Niang had also packed up her things and walked out of the classroom.

The students who were gathered there also scattered, and some came forward, chattering with questions.

”Don’t be envious. Riding a Flying Broom requires you to pass the Flying License test. Don’t think you can fly just by buying a broom. If you have some free time, you can go and get one. The academy is very big, and having a Flying License can make things a lot more convenient.”
