Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 122: Set Lofty Goals, But Also Face Reality

I woke up early and had already finished washing up.

However, the three from last night’s ’nightlife’ still weren’t awake.

It seemed they had partied too hard, or maybe they just didn’t have anything to do.

But this also showed that their relationship was quite good.

Wait a minute, did they exclude me?

No no no, it must be that I’m not a team player again!

At this moment, I felt a sense of urgency.

Although I was used to being isolated, Witch Academy was a new beginning for my life.

Why was I already being isolated by my roommates right at the start of the school year?

Was it because I knew too much?

I swallowed, feeling a bit helpless for a moment.

It seemed I needed to build some sort of relationship with them and couldn’t always just treat them as entertainment.

I looked at the private chat interface on my phone.

Although I personally thought I got up very early, Teacher Ji Niang woke up even earlier.

She had contacted me early, perhaps worried about disturbing me, and just sent me an address.

It looked like I was supposed to go there.

I quietly closed the door and got into the car.

On the way, I habitually checked to see which other students had arrived at school and hadn’t been added to my group yet.

After doing that again, I waited quietly for my arrival.

The address Ji Niang sent me was a building in the Central Teaching Area, an Experimental Building.

Or maybe it could also be called a teaching building.

The specific address was Classroom 8401 in that Experimental Building.

That is, the number 8 Experimental Building, 4th floor, classroom number 1.

I had never been there before, so I was a bit nervous on my first visit.

Walking into the first-floor lobby, I saw some senior students who looked like they shouldn’t be messed with, and also teachers who occasionally brushed past me.

Here, as a new student, it really made me feel unconfident.

If the address Teacher Ji Niang gave me wasn’t indeed here, I definitely wouldn’t have come.

I could imagine that the people who came here were basically ”study god” types of senior students, and the pressure they gave off to a slacker was too strong.

But then I also remembered the promise, or goal, Teacher Ji Niang had given me to surpass Tan Han.

Although it felt a bit unrealistic, since I was forced to set a goal, it at least proved that I was qualified to reach that goal.

All I lacked was the accumulation of time.

Sooner or later, I would also become someone others looked up to.

After climbing to the fourth floor, I immediately saw the half-open first classroom.

Calling it a classroom was a bit inaccurate, as there were no neat desks and chairs inside.

It was even a bit messy, as if it hadn’t been used in a long time.

I pushed open the half-closed door, and a strange fermented smell wafted out.

”Little Han, you’re here so early? You didn’t even come to my office to let me know.”

A voice came from behind me, nearly startling me.

I turned around, feeling a bit guilty, and saw Ji Niang’s signature smiling face.

”T-Teacher...”

Out of politeness, I still greeted her.

Although I hadn’t done anything wrong, I felt very guilty.

”Mhm”

Ji Niang seemed to enjoy my address.

”By the way, my office is at 8405. If you need anything, you can come find me directly. This 8401 is a perpetually empty laboratory here, so it’s a bit run-down. Of course, it will also be our research group’s regular laboratory from now on.”

My gaze swept over the interior of 8401 again.

Wasn’t calling it ”a bit run-down” a bit of an understatement?

”Mhm, okay.”

Although I was a bit speechless on the inside, I had to agree on the outside.

”I know you think it’s a bit run-down, but there’s no way around it. It’s the closest to my office, after all. So I’ll have to trouble you, Little Han, to clean it up. Just throw the useless stuff in the trash station downstairs, and keep the useful experimental tables and some tools.”

”Just clean boldly. Even if you throw away every single thing inside, I can still apply for a brand new set of tools. You can handle it, can’t you, Little Han? I know you have the Cleaning Spell. As a reward for your manual labor, lunch today is on me.”

”O-okay.”

I quickly nodded, not because of the promised meal, but because I just didn’t want to waste time on these things and wanted to finish quickly.

Yesterday, she said she would let me see the charm of the transcendent world.

But now, I still have to face reality, don’t I?

For example, cleaning.

Isn’t this too realistic?

Fortunately, I had the Cleaning Spell, otherwise, it would take me a long time to clean it by myself.

I walked into Classroom 8501.

The various old tools and the thick dust inside showed that it hadn’t been used or cleaned in a very long time.

My finger traced across the transparent surface of an experimental table, and my finger was instantly covered in a layer of dust.

But the quality of the experimental table was eye-catching.

If it were clean, it would feel brand new.

As for the various tools next to it and the various indistinguishable stains on the floor, I would just clean them all together later.

There were also many half-used materials here, which I found very new and exciting, as I had never been exposed to any of them before.

Having a habit of collecting unknown things must be a quirky trait everyone shares, right?

I casually picked up a few of the strange materials, cleaned them with the Cleaning Spell, and then prepared to put them in my Storage Anklet.

But rationality quickly stopped me.

After all, these might be transcendent materials.

Who knew if they would cause me some terrible harm?

What if there was radiation?

Poisonous things would also be very scary.

Or even various bacteria or fungi that could cause me unnecessary harm...

Compared to the desire to collect, the fear of death still won out over the urge to do something impulsive.

I’ll just pack them all up and throw them into the trash station downstairs!

Later... later, there will be more interesting things.

No need to rush for this moment.

After I spent some time cleaning and constantly going up and down to throw away the discarded items, the large classroom returned to its original appearance.

Fortunately, I had cleaned the villa a lot before and had plenty of experience, otherwise, I might have been even busier.

After throwing away the excess things, the room became more spacious, but that had nothing to do with me.

I didn’t even know what I was supposed to do next, so what would I need so many things for?

So I quickly went to find Ji Niang, who was sitting leisurely in her office.

”Teacher, the lab has been cleaned.”

”Oh? That fast?”

A hint of surprise flashed in Ji Niang’s eyes.

She then got up and came over to me to see my results.

She had originally thought such a large room would take half a day to clean.

She didn’t expect the efficiency to be so high.

But once she got there, she couldn’t find any faults.

”It is indeed good. It seems we can start things earlier. Little Han, did you think about the thing I told you about yesterday, after a whole night of consideration?”

”Mhm, I’ve already thought it through.”

I looked at Ji Niang, a little surprised that she would ask so directly.

”I want to research Spellbooks, using my Spirit Vision...”

”Mmhmm... I think I understand what you mean. You want to learn how to use Spirit Vision to analyze the mysteries of a Spellbook, is that right?”
