Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 139: Mental Power Enhancement

After taking a break, I went back to the field to practice some more spell-casting.

The more limited my abilities were, the more it tested my adaptability and control in a fight.

Although I said that these simulated spells weren’t my style, I still had to practice.

This kind of last-minute cramming wasn’t very effective.

The teachers would also come over and lecture me a bit, knowing that I, as the class president, would be in the upcoming competition.

After class ended, I finally relaxed a little.

I had exercised a lot more today than usual.

Maybe I should pay more attention to my weak physique.

After all, even for a witch who casts spells, a weak physique is a clear weakness.

But now wasn’t the time to think about all that.

The best choice was to do what I needed to do right now, like using that Mental Power Potion.

I figured it would provide me with a good amount of Mental Power, which would make me more confident when casting spells later.

First, I had to get my Spirit Cat back from the girls who had been ”torturing” it.

It would have been rude and scary to them if I had just cut the spell and made the cat disappear.

In the end, after a lot of pleading, I got it back.

When I was about to leave, my roommate Hong Chenyi naturally came with me, and her reason was very legitimate: we were roommates.

But I wasn’t going back to the villa; I was going to the Meditation Room.

The best way to use the Mental Power Potion was to combine it with Meditation, and the Meditation Room was naturally the best choice.

So, Hong Chenyi ended up following me there.

Of course, she mainly came to get a ride on my Flying Broom.

She said that she also wanted to fly!

And I heard that she had already joined the Flying License Club but didn’t have time to practice, so she just wanted to get a feel for it.

”Ugh... I’m here again... this expensive and useless place...”

When we got to the Meditation Room, Hong Chenyi sighed in despair.

Neither she nor most of the new students had successfully meditated yet.

The success of Meditation depended on a person’s situation, but according to the teachers’ years of experience, most new students would succeed within one month of enrollment.

So there was generally no rush.

The people in our dorm had all been to the Meditation Room before, except for Hong Chenyi, who was a big spender.

Guan Qiuling didn’t usually come, and Dongli Yiren was a bit short on cash.

Yu Yetian said that the Meditation Room wasn’t very useful for her and that she was more comfortable in the dorm.

As an ascetic, she probably would master Meditation very quickly.

”Alright, I’m going in. If you get bored, you can go back first,” I said, opening the door to my Meditation Room and turning to Hong Chenyi.

”No way! You brought me here, so you have to take me back! Don’t be so irresponsible! I’ll just play inside. When you’re done, just call me! Don’t worry about bothering me!”

”Fine. Go ahead and play since you have money.”

I shrugged my shoulders.

I had nothing to say to this big spender.

Maybe for her, Meditation was just a matter of luck.

I went inside and locked the door.

I sat in the middle of the room and lit some aromatherapy.

I had bought this aromatherapy here at the Meditation Room.

It wasn’t very expensive, but the quality didn’t seem as good as the ones from Senior Gong Xihuanhin.

I was a bit hesitant to go to Senior Gong Xihuanhin to buy it, after all, her talent was really a handful.

As the smoke from the aromatherapy spread, I took out the Mental Power Potion that Teacher Ji Niang had given me.

I wondered what kind of surprise it would bring me.

Right now, my Mental Power, counted by the Mental Power Threads of the Witch Meditation Method, has reached three threads.

This meant that my Mental Power was about three times what it was originally.

Maybe this was a bonus from my first time using the Witch Meditation Method, as my Mental Power had improved very quickly.

But now, I felt that the improvement had entered a plateau.

I would probably need to accumulate it over a long period to see any results.

When I drank the potion, a strange sweet fruit flavor lingered in my mouth, but it was also met with the unique bitter taste of a medicine.

This feeling slowly faded until a powerful after-effect hit me, and I realized that I had drunk a potion, not juice!

The after-effect was like the smell of stinky feet rushing straight to my head, which then turned into a sweet rain that fell in my mind.

But this rain wasn’t like a downpour; it was more like my mind was stepping into water, with each drop of dew like a bare foot stepping into a puddle, causing ripples that reproduced the memories in my head.

There were painful ones, happy ones, and even some that I had forgotten myself...

At that moment, I felt like I was a figure in the rain, walking through the corridors of my memories.

The water on the ground reflected my memories, and the raindrops falling from the sky shattered them.

It wasn’t until I jolted that I got out of that state.

The state I was in just now felt very strange!

Forget it, I’ll just meditate.

It’s probably a normal effect of the potion.

After all, it’s a good thing that promotes Mental Power growth.

It wouldn’t harm me, right?

I closed my eyes and began to meditate.

The effect of the potion seemed to be something that even Meditation couldn’t suppress all at once.

Even in my Meditation space, fragments of past memories would unconsciously appear.

It seemed that this potion improved Mental Power through some unknown means, and the side effect was that these memories would be involuntarily brought up.

Well, it was a potion after all.

It always had to improve Mental Power through some kind of channel, not just instantly increase the amount of Mental Power.

While I meditated to improve my Mental Power and use up the remaining value of the potion, I also condensed the Mental Power Threads of the Witch Meditation Method.

Condensing Mental Power Threads was more useful than having pure Mental Power, especially when I used Mental Power to ”mod” spellbooks.

It was the difference between a heap of sand and a professional tool.

They couldn’t be compared.

Time passed slowly until the effect of the potion completely wore off.

My Mental Power had reached the fifth thread.

If I tried harder, the sixth one would probably not be far away, but I wasn’t in a hurry.

When Mental Power grows so quickly, it’s better to get used to it first.

I took out my phone and checked the time.

It was getting late.

After paying the fee, I got ready to leave.

I would also call Hong Chenyi and hope she was still here.

Yang Yuehan: I’m done.

It took a while for Hong Chenyi to reply to my message.

Hong Chenyi: Huh?

What?

Big Sis Xiao Han, are you still in the Meditation Room?

Hong Chenyi: No way. Big Sis Xiao Han, did you make the Meditation Room your home?

Hong Chenyi: I can only stay for an hour.

Yang Yuehan: ?

Hong Chenyi: Um, I went back already.

Um...

Hong Chenyi: I forgot to tell you, Big Sis Xiao Han. I just didn’t want to bother you.

Yang Yuehan: Okay, that saves me from having to take you back.

Yang Yuehan: You have no idea how hard it was to take you with all the chaotic movements you were making in the back.

After replying with that, I didn’t reply to her anymore, but the vibration of my phone showed that she had replied to many messages, probably to argue against me calling her difficult.

That girl was even more excited than me when she went flying.

She was the most fidgety person I had ever carried on a broom.

I just had to curse her to never get her Flying License in the future so she wouldn’t harm others.

But with Hong Chenyi leaving early, I was a bit lost on what to do.

But...

At that moment, Hong Chenyi in the villa was scratching her head, frustrated.

It wasn’t that she didn’t want to continue Meditating with Big Sis Xiao Han.

It was just that the cost of the Meditation Room was a bit extravagant.

It cost dozens of yuan for one hour, and it would be even more expensive with the aromatherapy.

She was currently physically cut off from her family.

Her calls weren’t going through, and she had also fallen out with them before coming to Witch Academy.

They weren’t sending her any money anymore!

She had thought her parents would indulge her before, but now they were probably just raising a new account!

It was all her dad’s fault, wasn’t it?

If he hadn’t made her a sycophant just to fawn over that woman, would she have come to Witch Academy?

Now she had to worry about money again.

Should she go find the seniors?

She didn’t know if that street was unsealed yet.

If it was, she wouldn’t mind going back to her old ways.

But now she had classes, so she had to be more moderate.

No sooner said than done.

Thinking of this, she picked up her phone.

She had many friends on her phone, and there was even a category dedicated to just seniors.

And the first person she wanted to contact was naturally the senior who had brought her here.

At this moment, after finishing my Meditation, my mind was also a bit tired.

After all, Meditation couldn’t replace sleep, and it wouldn’t make me feel refreshed.

All I wanted to do now was to go back and get a good night’s sleep so I could be in good spirits for a big battle tomorrow.

Teacher Ji Niang was right before.

If I couldn’t break through my mental limitations at this stage, no matter how I ”modded” a spell like Fireball, it would only be a change of a fancy outer shell.

Mental limitations weren’t that easy to break through, and recklessly trying whatever I wanted could even be dangerous.

But it was okay. Now I had a whole new field: a summoning spell! I wondered what the Spirit Cat Summoning spellbook would look like after I ”modded” it?

Since it was a summoning spell, not an evocation spell, a mistake might not cause a terrifying explosion.

But if I wasn’t careful with a summoning spell, would I summon something strange?

Like a crawling, dark, Cthulhu-like tentacle cat?

Or a sexy cat girl in revealing clothes?

Wait...

A cat girl?

I seemed to have thought of something weird.

A cat and a cat girl shouldn’t be two species with a direct connection, right?

Was this something that ”modding” could do?

But it wasn’t impossible.

Anything that hadn’t been tried was a possibility!

After all, petting a cat and petting a cat girl were two different experiences.

Cough, cough...

I should think about some practical things.

It was a spell that consumed a lot of magic power, so I couldn’t just think about using it for strange things.

The most important thing was to look at its combat power or other uses.

That was the most important basis for judgment in combat.

Otherwise, if I summoned a Spirit Cat during the competition, would I turn the opponent into a cat servant and make them surrender?

That didn’t sound very reliable.
