The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Sitting in the taxi, Fu Yu clarified the destination to the driver, and the car quickly started moving.

Mr. Fu and Mrs. Fu were still immersed in the joy of their son finally settling permanently in Bei’an, eagerly discussing the future of the new house ever since they got into the car.

The driver happened to be a chatterbox and was very familiar with the area as a local. Upon hearing that they had bought a house in a new development on Red Flag Avenue, he became interested.

So, for the remainder of the trip, the three engaged in warm conversation.

Fu Yu leaned against the car seat, listening to them talk. After a while, he suddenly remembered that he hadn’t claimed his new mission reward yet.

Putting on a show of admiring the street view outside the window, he quietly started checking the reward.

An upgraded Masterpiece Badge.

Choose to claim.

He saw a colored Masterpiece Badge directly overlay the original black and white badge.

Fu Yu checked the attributes of the upgraded badge.

[Upgraded Masterpiece Badge: To be a chef popular with customers, it’s not enough for the food to taste good; you must also cleverly use creative ideas in plating to meet the customers’ visual needs.

Wearing this badge: While working independently, you can possess unlimited creativity and the ability to either explore customer thoughts or evoke customer resonance.]

Fu Yu: ”!!!”

In an instant, Fu Yu was momentarily stunned!

This...

If he remembered correctly, wasn’t this the attribute before the upgrade?

Then what effect could the upgrade possibly have?

Thinking about the original black and white badge being covered by the upgraded colored badge.

Fu Yu’s eyes gradually brightened.

Could it really be as he guessed?

Would the sketches become colored images the next time he explored customers’ thoughts?

This would allow him to more conveniently and intuitively understand the customers’ true thoughts.

Thinking of this, Fu Yu felt a quiet thrill.

This upgraded badge is quite impressive!

Besides the upgraded Masterpiece Badge, there was also a Key to a Drawing Skills Teaching Practice Classroom.

Previously focused solely on completing the mission, he hadn’t had time to think it through.

Seeing this Key to the Teaching Practice Classroom now, Fu Yu belatedly had a certain suspicion.

After all, the system never does pointless things.

If it had him learn drawing skills, it must be because this skill would somehow benefit his culinary progress.

And drawing, huh?

The distance from the Four Seas Banquet to the Side Street Hotel was quite far, so while sitting in the smoothly moving taxi, Fu Yu’s mind began to churn.

Thinking about it carefully, there really are quite many aspects of cooking operations where drawing skills can be applied.

Firstly, for sure, is the plating aspect.

Color matching, plating design appreciation, even the angles for cutting ingredients during preparation all seem related to drawing skills.

Having understood this, Fu Yu immediately felt a surge of joy.

No doubt, these drawing skills are quite useful.

He already possessed advanced individual skills, and with perfect drawing skills added to it, wouldn’t the presentation of his dishes be as delicate as artwork in the future!

Fu Yu couldn’t contain the excitement within him, eager to start learning immediately.

However, given the circumstances, he couldn’t; he brought his thoughts back and listened to his parents and the driver talk about the major and minor happenings in Bei’an, and a warm feeling surged in his heart.

With him successfully settling in Bei’an, his parents should be completely at ease about him now.

...

Returning to the Side Street Hotel, his aunt and her family had also returned.

Unlike the happy atmosphere of their family, Lin Minghao stayed in his room, only coming out to say hello at first and then staying behind closed doors.

His uncle was sulking, looking very upset.

But his aunt warmly inquired about the house-buying matter.

Upon learning that the down payment had already been made, she carefully examined the temporary sale contract several times.

His aunt was genuinely happy for them and asked quite a few details about the house-buying matter.

Speaking of the new house, Fu Yu’s parents immediately got spirited, and the elders talked warmly together.

Watching his parents animatedly, Fu Yu felt there couldn’t be a happier moment than now.

Making his parents proud because of him is already something to be proud of in itself.

While Fu Yu was happily listening to the elders talk, his aunt suddenly turned and said, ”Yu, why don’t you go check on what your brother is doing in the room?”

Before Fu Yu could respond, his uncle sternly said, ”No need to bother with him!”

Fu Yu quickly stood up and said, ”I’ll go take a look anyway.”

After speaking, he turned to walk outside, and behind him, he heard his mother’s voice, ”What’s going on?”

His aunt sighed helplessly and said, ”Minghao’s school, that so-called training school, isn’t a legitimate university; it’s just a private training course, which looks decent on the outside! It turns out when we came back, we bumped into an acquaintance and found out that the training school has been established for less than two years. You tell me, can a school like that be any good, really...”

Fu Yu casually closed the door behind him and turned back towards his room.

Standing at his room door, Fu Yu took out his room card, and paused mid-action as he was about to open the door.

Damn!

He initially thought to take the opportunity to access the teaching practice classroom directly.

As it turned out, the hotel rooms only used card keys, not actual keys!

Can the key he acquired to enter the teaching practice classroom even work?

Without much hope, Fu Yu swiped the card and pushed open the door...

Inside the room.

Lin Minghao was lying idly on the bed, playing with his phone.

Seeing Fu Yu, he leaned over and greeted, ”Hey, bro!”

Fu Yu: ”...”

Sigh!

Just as expected!

Muttering a pity inwardly, Fu Yu walked to the bed and sat down beside him: ”Did you have another argument with your parents?”

Lin Minghao rolled his eyes: ”Eh, don’t even mention it, showing my face is a sin of its own to them! But forget that, congrats bro!”

Fu Yu smiled sincerely: ”Thanks.”

Lin Minghao felt both envious and emotional: ”You’re really something! Being able to buy a house and settle in Bei’an, impressive!”

Fu Yu wore a somewhat leisurely smile, but seeing the gloom in Minghao’s eyes, he advised softly: ”Your aunt and uncle are leaving tomorrow, no matter what, they’ve made the effort to come all this way just to see you, which shows they still love you very much...”

Lin Minghao let out a cold hum: ”Please spare me, I can’t handle this heavy love!”

Fu Yu felt a slight urge to laugh, and helplessly said: ”Alright, let’s not talk about your parents for now, anyhow your aunt and uncle are still here, why don’t you join us for a while, chat a bit, and then head back.”

”Don’t let the elders worry.”

Lin Minghao wasn’t entirely unpersuadable.

At least with family relatives there, what the three of them do behind closed doors doesn’t matter, but letting relatives see it would be unreasonable.

Seeing Lin Minghao join them, the elders’ expressions softened.

With Fu Yu’s family of three livening up the atmosphere, the whole family finally enjoyed a warm conversation for a while.
