The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Guo Xinyi gazed at Fu Yu, and said earnestly, ”I just feel that since we can’t rely on our family for everything, we can only depend on ourselves. People like us with average backgrounds, who can’t really get any help, really need academic qualifications to achieve anything in our careers. In every industry, you can’t miss a single necessary diploma or certificate.”

Fu Yu nodded, agreeing quite a bit with Guo Xinyi’s viewpoint.

Just like chefs, they also need skills certificates as a backup.

The difference between a basic certificate and an advanced certificate is not just a piece of paper.

To take the test, moving from basic to intermediate, you need at least 2 years of work experience just to apply.

From intermediate to advanced, you need to have worked in the field for 5 years prior.

A technician needs five years, and a senior technician needs three years.

When summed up, there’s a more than ten-year work experience difference between taking the tests and not taking them!

Thinking of it this way, wanting to be on the same level as Yao Shi is really a long journey ahead!

No wonder they say the threshold for senior technicians is high, right?

It’s all about enduring for qualifications!

Guo Xinyi sighed and continued, ”Not to mention others, just my boyfriend’s brother, who is also a chef, has finished his technician certification and is now preparing for the senior technician exam.”

”Let me tell you, academic qualifications are not just a piece of paper or proof, they symbolize personal competence and showcase the skills and knowledge acquired during the process of preparing for the exams.”

”My boyfriend’s brother now has it quite good; the restaurant assigned him his own single dorm room, which is no different from a hotel room. Moreover, I heard he earns tens of thousands a month!”

”Hey! You know Bo Ming, right? That top live broadcaster! Recently, he organized a barbecue delivery review event, and our restaurant participated in the contest and even secured a good ranking! It’s amazing to make it to the top five in Bei’an!”

”And the reason he can be a head chef in the restaurant, honestly, is because of his skills! Good culinary skills and rich experience are what make him valued.”

Fu Yu was startled, a barbecue delivery review?

He actually took the first place in that barbecue contest!

Hey, wait a minute...

Guo Xinyi continued, ”Moreover, his brother takes private jobs outside, and a single home service earns him a thousand bucks. In a year, with salary and various side incomes, he earns hundreds of thousands, whereas ordinary chefs like you earn how much a month? I heard chefs in the back kitchen earn five to six thousand a month, which is very good, but to become a head chef, you still need to endure for a decade and wait for opportunities.”

Fu Yu looked at Guo Xinyi.

It wasn’t...

At this time, Luo Yong, who went out to pick someone up, came back.

Guo Xinyi had been paying attention to the door, and when she saw someone, she quickly greeted, ”Brother Luo!”

Fu Yu also looked over in response and saw a middle-aged man with similar facial features following behind Luo Yong.

Coincidentally, the middle-aged man was also looking over.

They gazed into each other’s eyes, both taken aback.

After greeting, Guo Xinyi turned her head and said, ”Fu Yu, let me introduce, this is...”

Luo Rang saw Fu Yu and was surprised, ”Chef Fu?”

Fu Yu greeted with a smile, ”Chef Luo, what a coincidence!”

Looking at the two warm-faced individuals, Guo Xinyi was dumbfounded.

No way!

What’s happening?

”Fu Yu, Brother Luo, you guys know each other?”

Luo Rang didn’t expect to see Fu Yu here, and he was quite happy.

After their previous meetings, he had a very good impression of Fu Yu and genuinely intended to befriend him.

Luo Rang said with a smile, ”Of course, we know each other. Speaking of which, I got to know Chef Fu thanks to Xu Xu’s introduction.”

Mentioning his friend Xu Xu, Luo Yong was taken aback and said in surprise, ”Xu Xu? So, Fu Yu, you’re friends with Xu Xu?”

Xu Xu?

Fu Yu had no particular memory of this name.

However, he and Luo Rang first met at the Yang Family.

At the time, their boss’s friend, Yang Zhifang, came over to the restaurant looking for someone to do an in-house service.

Luo Rang was the assistant he brought along.

Thinking it over, Fu Yu barely remembered, it seemed like it was Yang Zhifang’s brother-in-law who called Luo Rang.

Fu Yu didn’t have much impression of Yang Zhifang’s brother-in-law, only remembering his average appearance that barely passed as decent.

So, his name was Xu Xu.

Fu Yu shook his head, ”I don’t know him, I was just invited by Mr. Yang for a home service, and we bumped into each other.”

Luo Yong listened and recalled, saying in surprise, ”Fu Yu, so it was you whom Brother Yang invited back from Qianlima as the head chef at that time!”

Fu Yu smiled, ”I’m not really a head chef, haven’t reached that level yet.”

Luo Rang joked, ”What’s the level, you just haven’t got a spot at Qianlima yet. If there’s a vacancy for a head chef, it surely would be yours.”

When it comes to the situation at Qianlima, Luo Rang knew very well.

He placed a hand on his brother’s shoulder and introduced, ”Chef Fu is currently the hottest figure in our circle. In the recent takeout barbecue review, the seafood he grilled spectacularly overshadowed our restaurant. Even our barbecue chef admitted that Chef Fu’s culinary skills are top notch, and he couldn’t compare!”

At this point, Luo Rang couldn’t help but remark in amazement, ”Our restaurant’s barbecue chef is a veteran, with decades of craft and experience. But not to mention, seeing Chef Fu’s skills and talent even astonished me!”

Listening to this, Guo Xinyi was left dumbfounded and speechless!

She looked at Luo Rang in disbelief.

She had just been bragging about Luo Rang, and before the words could settle, it...

After a bit of teasing, Luo Rang remembered to ask, ”Do you guys know each other?”

Guo Xinyi quickly explained, ”Fu Yu and I were high school classmates.”

Luo Rang was a bit surprised, ”Such a coincidence!”

Fu Yu laughed awkwardly, ”Yeah, we haven’t seen each other since graduation, didn’t expect to run into each other here.”

Luo Rang nodded and then remembered the main topic, saying with a smile, ”Xinyi, I’ve already made contact here, after picking, just find the sales manager directly.”

Guo Xinyi’s face relaxed, showing joy!

Great, Luo Rang mentioned his connections previously, and now they could directly find the sales manager, showing that the connection is strong. I wonder how much discount they could get, ninety-eight percent or ninety-five percent?

The deal was that the Luo Family would pay for the house, while her family would cover the renovation and purchase of a car.

Spending her own family’s money, Luo Rang would certainly go all out.

Speaking about finding connections, Luo Rang turned to Fu Yu and asked, ”Chef Fu, are you here to buy a house too?”

Fu Yu replied with a smile, ”Yes, I’m planning to pick a set here, been looking for several days now.”

In his mind, Luo Rang quickly made some calculations.

Doing someone a favor once or twice is all a matter of owing, left or right, it has to be returned.

Using this opportunity to build a connection with Fu Yu, after weighing it over, it seemed like a really nice thing to do.
