The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Fu Yu specifically informed Yao Shi about taking private orders.

Yao Shi was surprised: ”You also know how to make herbal cuisine?”

Fu Yu once again credited his classmate: ”I learned it from my classmate’s mother; herbal cuisine and vegetarian dishes are quite similar, both focus on the natural flavor of ingredients.”

”That’s great!” Yao Shi nodded, ”No problem, I’ll let Zhang Zhen know, and if any orders come through the front desk, you can take them directly.”

After more than a month of working, Fu Yu still didn’t have a fixed regular customer base.

The so-called door-to-door service was usually just the music restaurant finding a reason for him to work over there.

Customer resources are very important for a chef, Fu Yu deeply believed that as long as he could serve people well.

Liu Yici’s friend might turn into his long-term meal ticket.

Making use of his free time, Fu Yu finalized a few herbal dishes based on Liu Yici’s friend’s actual situation.

Pearl with oyster mushrooms, braised bamboo shoots with sea cucumber, steamed ginseng chicken, fresh bamboo shoots with celery, Eight Treasures Cake, ginseng and jujube porridge, and sweet wormwood turtle soup.

Four dishes, one soup, one porridge, and a main dish.

It’s just right to include all herbal cuisine pairings, to let Liu Yici’s friend taste the flavors.

If satisfied, he could tailor suitable herbal cuisine according to this combination.

And this set of herbal cuisine is very newsworthy!

All are for beautifying skin, nourishing blood, and invigorating energy.

Since Liu Yici’s friend is dieting and needs herbal cuisine to recuperate, he would first improve her complexion.

If a person’s energy is replenished, their complexion naturally improves.

And then, once the body is well-adjusted, Fu Yu could make some slimming and fitness herbal cuisine for her.

Looking at it this way, Liu Yici’s friend really is a potential long-term big client.

Fu Yu sent Zhang Zhen a message, listing out the ingredients and prep work he needed for tomorrow.

Zhang Zhen had just received Yao Shi’s instructions and was completely accommodating towards Fu Yu’s requests.

Every time Fu Yu went to the music restaurant, it was always Zhou Yesheng who helped him in the kitchen.

Over time, the two of them developed a bit of chemistry.

Fu Yu had a good impression of Zhou Yesheng.

Although his cooking skills aren’t great, he’s quick and perceptive.

When Fu Yu is cooking, having Zhou Yesheng by his side makes everything a lot easier.

Zhou Yesheng prepared all the ingredients Fu Yu needed, watching curiously as Fu Yu cooked.

Herbal cuisine sounds really fancy—anything with the word ”herb” and a health tag guarantees the price will more than double.

With that thought, Zhou Yesheng watched even more attentively.

Fu Yu started by preparing pearl with oyster mushrooms.

If it weren’t for the countless times he practiced this dish in class, he wouldn’t have been able to connect these seemingly unrelated items.

Wash safflower, drain thoroughly, and place in a fine strainer.

Remove the stems from the oyster mushrooms, clean them, tear them into strips, and marinate with soy sauce, sugar, and Shaoxing wine.

Wrap tofu in a clean cloth, press to remove the water.

Crush the drained tofu in a container.

Add sesame powder, sugar, and soy sauce, and mix well.

Then add the oyster mushroom strips, mix thoroughly, place on a plate, and sprinkle with pearl powder and safflower.

The presentation of this dish is very refined.

When served, the customers need to mix it themselves.

Standing on the side, Zhou Yesheng couldn’t help but furrow his brows.

Oyster mushrooms and pearl powder can be cooked together?

What kind of taste would that be?

Zhou Yesheng realized that Fu Yu was really exceptional, seemingly able to do anything.

From noodle balloons, eight plates and eight bowls banquet, three changes banquet, and the vegetarian feast he prepared last time!

This table setup hasn’t even been promoted yet, and now he’s doing herbal cuisine!

This guy seems to be all-capable, knowing everything.

Watching Fu Yu’s handsome face, Zhou Yesheng was utterly convinced.

He originally thought he just wasn’t as good-looking, but now even his culinary skills were crushed to bits.

Clearly, they were the same age.

How could he be so amazing, while he could only admire Chef Fu from the sidelines?

The process of preparing the braised bamboo shoots with sea cucumber was quite simple, the focus was on presentation.

Fu Yu had previously looked through special banquet cookbooks and was particularly impressed by the plating techniques.

Blanched rapeseed leaves were removed and laid flat in pairs on an oval glass plate with a gold edge.

The plates at the music restaurant had a finely crafted metal handle on either side, making them look even more upscale and refined.

Decorative mint leaf bouquets were placed on both sides, paired with layers of paper-thin carrot flowers.

A row of six sea cucumbers was neatly arranged.

The whole dish looked especially delightful.

Fu Yu had just transferred the steamed ginseng chicken into a serving pot when someone from the front informed him that Ms. Liu, the customer who specially ordered from Fu Yu, had arrived.

The customer was already there, but Fu Yu didn’t rush getting the dishes out; instead, he quickened his pace and waited until the sweet wormwood turtle soup was nearly ready before signaling the runner to serve.

He then swiftly completed the plating for the sweet wormwood turtle soup and followed the runner to the front hall.

In the fourth-floor private room.

Liu Yici was laughing and saying, ”Xueli, let me tell you, this Chef Fu is something else! He was the one who arranged the eight plates and eight bowls banquet at Sister Qin’s son’s wedding banquet before, and it was very authentic! He’s even been on a provincial TV program! If I hadn’t seen someone post a screenshot on WeChat, I wouldn’t have known he was so amazing!”

Wang Xueli smiled, ”Sister, since you say he’s good, he must be. I’ll taste it in a bit, and if it’s good, I’ll have him make herbal cuisine for me for a while and see the results!”

Wang Xueli’s approval filled Liu Yici with pride.

And when Fu Yu followed the runner into the room, seeing Wang Xueli’s delighted and incredulous expression, Liu Yici was again convinced that her decision to befriend Fu Yu was nothing short of brilliant.

She knew that anyone finding out the chef she introduced, who cooked so well, was not only very young but also notably handsome, would be genuinely impressed by her.

Sure enough, the next second, Wang Xueli leaned closer to Liu Yici, and in a hushed voice that only the two of them could hear, exclaimed, ”Oh my! Sister, you’re impressive, isn’t this Chef Fu a real heartthrob!”

Liu Yici was pleased with Wang Xueli’s reaction and cheerfully said, ”What do you think, I wasn’t lying, right? He’s a fantastic cook!”

Looking at Fu Yu in his clean chef uniform, tall and long-legged, Wang Xueli nodded in agreement, ”Right, someone this handsome must be an incredible chef!”
