The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

”Chef Fu, the shrimp paste is ready!”

Zhang Jinyu brought the shrimp paste over to Fu Yu.

After checking, Fu Yu was satisfied and instructed, ”Bring over a number seven plate.”

The number seven plate was a rectangular plate with wavy edges.

Fu Yu sliced a total of 12 peeled cucumber slices and evenly placed them at the bottom of the plate. He put on gloves and shaped the shrimp paste into equal-sized balls, placing them on top of the cucumber slices one by one.

The tender white shrimp mixed with red shrimp roe, accompanied by specks of tender green celery bits, looked refreshing and beautiful.

”Alright, serve it up.”

Zhang Jinyu handed the plate to the server while Fu Yu tore down the order slip from the kitchen wall.

”Chef Zhao, I’m going to the restroom!”

Fu Yu informed Zhao Meng and turned to leave.

Just as he reached the restroom door, a cleaning staff stopped him: ”There’s a leak inside, the maintenance tech is dealing with it. You better go to the restroom in the lobby.”

Fu Yu acknowledged and turned towards the lobby’s restroom.

It’s said that the last renovation of the store was seven years ago, and the restroom facilities had already deteriorated significantly.

There had been talk of replacing them, but after much discussion, nothing was done.

Now, the boss had bought the adjacent Dayu Mall and was preparing to renovate and merge, so perhaps this time they’d get replaced.

Fu Yu jogged over to the restroom in the lobby.

The public restroom in the middle of the corridor was for customers, and though its decor was a bit outdated, it was kept very clean.

While the less noticeable restroom at the corner was for daily staff use.

After using it, Fu Yu was washing his hands when a server from the lobby walked in.

The two exchanged a smile in the mirror and greeted each other.

Fu Yu knew that a new server had joined two days ago, but because he usually stayed in the back kitchen and the servers stayed in the lobby, they rarely had a chance to meet, except occasionally while clocking in.

Since Zhao Meng’s old injury flared up, Fu Yu had been especially busy.

He mainly traveled back and forth between the back kitchen and his dorm room every day.

So he hadn’t had the chance to meet the new colleague.

The server walked over to the sink instead of the restroom and turned on the faucet.

While helping the cleaner tidy up the dishes earlier, she accidentally got soup on her hands.

While they washed their hands side by side, Fu Yu took the initiative to say hello: ”Hi, I’m Fu Yu from the back kitchen. You’re new here, right? I haven’t seen you before.”

The server smiled and said, ”Yes, I just started two days ago. So, you’re Chef Fu! Nice to meet you, I’m Ma Fanshu.”

Ma Fanshu wore the store’s standard uniform, with an unremarkable appearance but a neatly tied bun, with her hair pulled back neatly, revealing a smooth forehead.

Despite not being very striking, Ma Fanshu left a good impression, with her graceful demeanor and a seemingly enthusiastic and outgoing personality.

After washing his hands, Fu Yu said to Ma Fanshu, ”I have to go now.”

He then turned and left the restroom.

On his way back to the kitchen, Fu Yu’s phone rang with a message, followed by a call.

Without checking the message, Fu Yu picked up the call first.

Sun Qingning’s voice sounded anxious: ”Chef Fu! Look at the messages in the work group! Jia Rundong mentioned you!”

Fu Yu was taken aback and hung up to check the group messages.

Upon checking, he found several messages had been sent to him.

Fu Yu looked at the work group messages first.

Upon seeing them, he was stunned.

Jia Rundong must be out of his mind!

He even issued a disciplinary notice!

Really something!

Fu Yu skimmed through it to see how Jia Rundong planned to make an issue out of his so-called absenteeism.

It turned out that not only did Jia Rundong intend to dock half a month’s pay, but also to cancel his year-end bonus.

Fu Yu was speechless.

Just because of absenteeism, to give such a severe punishment.

Absolutely crazy!

Fu Yu shook his head and checked the other messages one by one.

They were from colleagues he usually got along with, specifically sending messages to remind him to check the group messages.

Fu Yu replied to each of them while walking back.

Again and again, he explained that he wasn’t actually absent without leave; he was out for an on-site service.

The anger that Fu Yu felt was unknowingly dissipated as he vented.

By the time he turned into the back kitchen, Fu Yu smiled nonchalantly.

Continuing to do what he needed to do.

Cooking, taking orders, handling the frying pan, preparing dishes...

The kitchen staff were all busy with their tasks, too preoccupied to pay attention to anything else.

In Zhao Meng’s strict supervision, Sun Qingning held his breath and completed the final plating.

Upon seeing Zhao Meng not lose his temper, Sun Qingning secretly breathed a sigh of relief and placed the carefully garnished dish on the serving station.

Zhao Meng casually removed the order slip from the kitchen wall, and just as the server walked over, thinking she was there to deliver an order, Jiang Mo directly said, ”Chef Zhao, there was a message in the work group. Manager Jia sent a disciplinary notice to Chef Fu!”

Yao Shi was just passing by and stopped in his tracks upon hearing, ”What? A disciplinary action?”

As soon as Yao Shi spoke, everyone around immediately took notice.

Zhao Meng picked up his phone to look at the disciplinary notice and his face darkened instantly.

With this whole thing, others might not know, but how could he not know what actually happened?

This was definitely a case of Jia Rundong using his position for personal retribution!

Zhao Meng handed the phone to Yao Shi.

Yao Shi looked it over, furrowing his brows.

It was just yesterday afternoon that Fu Yu was assigned to go, and at that time, he had even informed the accountant Xin Li.

Sun Qingning, having also read the group message, quickly added, ”Chef Yao, yesterday afternoon, Chef Fu was out for an on-site service. He wasn’t absent without leave!”

Yao Shi nodded and turned to ask Zhao Meng, ”This issue with Xiaofu was already recorded with accounting. What’s going on with Jia Rundong?”

Zhao Meng replied solemnly, ”A few days ago, some customers came to the restaurant claiming they knew Jia Rundong and wanted help from the kitchen to cut in line. Fu Yu turned them down. Later, Jia Rundong came over, and by then, the dishes were already served. I thought I’d give him a face, so I even offered that table of guests a large plate of cold noodles and two side dishes. But... damn, that bastard!”

Yao Shi understood all of a sudden, ”So that’s it!”

Everyone turned to look at Fu Yu.

Fu Yu shrugged indifferently.

He knew neither Yao Shi nor Zhao Meng would let Jia Rundong issue a disciplinary action against him without reason.

Indeed, as Fu Yu expected, Yao Shi said with a stern face, ”Alright, get back to your work! I’ll go handle this matter now.”

After speaking, Yao Shi turned and walked out.

Holding a plate, Yao Yihang, who was walking over, hurriedly stepped aside.

Yao Yihang turned his head to look at Yao Shi’s departing figure.

When he passed by, he’d just heard the last thing Yao Shi said.

Going to resolve something?

Fu Yu’s disciplinary action?
