The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Jiang Mo was surprised, and he was quite admiring of Fu Yu’s actions in his heart.

[Ding! Gained Favorability from NPC Passerby Jiang Mo: +10]

Huh!

Fu Yu couldn’t help but glance at Jiang Mo.

Order takers have always been the living signboard of the store, all good-looking and eloquent.

Jiang Mo looked pretty good, a delicate and lovely type, especially her pair of eyes, pitch-black pupils, making her whole person appear particularly energetic.

Fu Yu had a pretty good impression of Jiang Mo.

Jiang Mo had a good personality, was quite cheerful, and her attitude towards him was also very cordial.

However, this favorability was being increased continuously.

What was this?

If the favorability reached a hundred, would it earn him a girlfriend?

Thinking about this made Fu Yu suddenly feel that this favorability value was quite nice!

With this in mind, Fu Yu casually said, ”This table of dishes won’t cost much, don’t we get discounts on meals for internal people? Note it on my account, and just deduct it from my salary directly.”

Jiang Mo hastily nodded, approving in her heart: Chef Fu is so straightforward!

Jiang Mo didn’t dare to delay and hurried over to the front hall to have the order cancelled and re-entered by the leader, Gao Wenjing.

When Gao Wenjing heard this, she frowned and asked, ”Why was a perfectly good table of dishes just swapped out like this? This table actually ordered three mushroom dishes?”

Jiang Mo explained the situation.

Upon hearing this, Gao Wenjing got nervous and said unhappily, ”But we can’t just swap out dishes for customers so casually!”

The price difference for this table of dishes was almost two thousand.

The kitchen staff earns a commission based on the table, so they don’t care how much this table costs.

But in the front hall, they rely on the restaurant’s total revenue to earn bonuses.

Although a mere two thousand yuan doesn’t really count for much when calculating total revenue.

But hearing how the kitchen so nonchalantly cancelled an order made Gao Wenjing feel a bit uncomfortable.

Are we in the front hall supposed to suffer just because of your overflowing sympathy?

And just swap the whole table for vegetarian dishes!

Why don’t you go and tell the customers the truth yourself?

Moreover, Gao Wenjing suspected that the so-called pitiful customer was simply out to get a free meal!

Having a terminal illness might be true!

Being unable to afford treatment might also be true!

But coming to the restaurant to spend, planning to spend the last bit of money just to satisfy a craving?

Who are you fooling?

Clearly, they’re just looking at the fact that they are dying, can’t be cured anyway, so might as well come for a free meal and enjoy while they can.

If they really refuse to pay after the meal.

Wearing patient clothes and with a urine bag hanging, even the police can’t do anything about it.

Jiang Mo couldn’t help but speak up for Fu Yu: ”Sister Gao, you didn’t see it, the customer was really pitiful, and Fu Yu just sympathized with him, so he...”

Gao Wenjing interrupted Jiang Mo: ”I’m telling you, Jiang Mo, I’m putting it out there today, this guy is definitely just here for a free meal! There’s no need to sympathize with him!”

”Why did he talk about how miserable he was? If he just came to spend money on a meal, then just order whatever he wants, eat, pay, and leave! Why did he say those things to you and Fu Yu?”

”Is the restaurant a charity? Come in, cry poverty, and complain first, then get a free meal? If everyone acted like him, what kind of business could our restaurant do? Is it that whoever is pitiful and has a hard life is powerful? Does everyone have to sympathize with him and pamper him? For what reason!”

”There are plenty of people in the world with terminal illnesses who can’t survive! How many of them go to restaurants crying poverty trying to get free meals?”

Jiang Mo sighed: ”Maybe he plans to use the last bit of money for a good meal and won’t continue the treatment.”

”He’s really pitiful, suffering from a terminal illness and not having many days to live. If we can help, we should help him... Besides, Chef Fu said that employees can get discounts, and he’ll cover the remaining costs!”

Gao Wenjing snorted coldly: ”Jiang Mo, you! You’re still too naive! Let me tell you, I’ve seen many people like him!”

”Clearly, they’re targeting our sympathy to try and get a free meal! You’ll see, when the dishes are served, who knows how they will nitpick and refuse to pay!”

”There are too many people like him! If you ask him to settle the bill, without giving discounts or freebies, he might just cause a scene!”

The way the kitchen handled this was simply nonsense!

If it was anyone else in the kitchen handling this, Gao Wenjing would definitely go over and argue with them.

But it happened to be Fu Yu.

Gao Wenjing was familiar with Fu Yu; they had interacted a few times and she could tell the young man had a good personality and was very kind-hearted.

The last time Jiang Mo had an incident, it was Fu Yu who helped defuse it.

Because of this, the people in the front hall had a good impression of Fu Yu.

If Fu Yu felt sorry for the customer and wanted to help them save some money, and simply didn’t consider their front hall bonuses due to inexperience.

Gao Wenjing thought it could be possible.

With that thought, her anger subsided a little, and she turned to Jiang Mo: ”Does Zhao Meng know about this?”

Jiang Mo nodded: ”Chef Zhao should know, he was right there listening when I talked to Chef Fu.”

Gao Wenjing felt relieved, knowing Zhao Meng as she did, that if he knew about this, he’d definitely find a way to correct the situation later.

As for Fu Yu, young people with little experience always need to make a couple of mistakes to understand how difficult people can be.

Gao Wenjing took a deep breath and said to Jiang Mo, ”Alright, cancel this table then, and re-enter the replacement order later.”

Jiang Mo did as told, re-entering the order and running off to the kitchen with it.

Fu Yu had no idea his moment of goodwill had led to Gao Wenjing’s dissatisfaction.

He stood at the cooking station, focused on cooking.

The sliced yam was placed in the steamer to cook.

As he covered the pot, a dialogue box appeared in front of him suddenly:

[Please proceed with the next dish: Glass ”Fish Tail”]

Fu Yu blinked his eyes.

So time management came with a reminder feature, meaning he could follow the prompts without even thinking.

Fu Yu felt a quiet joy in his heart.

After enduring the brutal practice class, having such a skill with a cheating function was deeply satisfying to him!

Fu Yu followed the steps from the classic old flavor recipe to prepare the next dish.

Soak vermicelli in warm water until softened.

Soak tofu in a boiling water pot.

The dialogue box appeared again:

[Please proceed with the next dish: Liangxi ”Crispy Eel”]

Fu Yu followed the instructions.

Soaked dried shiitake mushrooms were cut into strips resembling eel fillets and evenly coated with dry starch.

The vegetable heart was washed and sliced into strips.

In a heated wok, oil was poured in and heated to sixty percent before frying the greens into vegetable fluff, mixed with powdered sugar, and plated.

Then he fried the ”eel fillets” in the oil until crispy, and piled them into a mound on the plate.

Liangxi ”Crispy Eel” was complete.
