The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

At four-thirty that afternoon, a disciplinary notice was posted in the Qianlima work group.

Jia Rundong was transferred from his original post, suspended for inspection, and docked half a month’s salary, along with having his end-of-year bonus revoked.

This matter could more or less be wrapped up here.

Seeing Jia Rundong punished, almost everyone cheered Fu Yu on in secret!

Zhao Meng refreshed his phone several times during this short period.

Yao Shi, passing by, noticed and teased with a smile, ”Who are you stalking? You’ve checked your phone several times in just a short while!”

The relationship between Zhao Meng and Dai Li was becoming increasingly ambiguous, unnoticed by the people in the front hall, but several keen-eyed individuals in the kitchen had long since noticed.

Zhao Meng rolled his eyes and showed his phone to Yao Shi.

After looking, Yao Shi was taken aback, ”Why are you browsing my Moments?”

With the issue of Jia Rundong resolved, Zhao Meng was most afraid that after the dust settled, Yao Shi still wouldn’t be satisfied and would, like before, post something in his Moments to vent his feelings.

”I’m worried you’ll make a post with some dramatic picture, and say something like, ’Why so timid now, keep bragging!’”

”Cough, cough!” Yao Shi was choked by his own saliva, eyes wide, ”How did you know I was planning that?”

Zhao Meng had an expression of indifference, ”With your temper, you’d never let this go easily...”

Yao Shi sulkily said, ”No way, this is ancient history!”

The two of them chatted casually, while Yao Yihang, who was bringing over a plate, felt his heart skip a beat.

The developments were shocking, to say the least.

In the store, the front hall manager, second only to the boss, couldn’t deal with a mere chef!

This, who would’ve thought it possible!

Looking at the crowd in the store now, gloating and overwhelmingly supportive.

Yao Yihang felt uneasy and restless.

The things he did before, he better hope no one finds out!

Otherwise, with the attitudes of Yao Shi and Zhao Meng, he’d definitely face the same fate as Jia Rundong, unable to bear the consequences.

In the evening, at the shift handover, Dong Jun Tian came to the kitchen and held a meeting for everyone.

After looking around at everyone in the kitchen, Dong Jun Tian spoke with seriousness and a solemn tone, ”This incident revealed the management shortcomings we have been having. Things like lax work attitudes, frequent absences without notice; things like favoritism towards friends and relatives, reserving spots ahead, or even attempting to cut the line by using connections.”

”These are the areas we must note and amend swiftly.”

”For us in the service industry, the primary thing we need to do is think about the customer…”

Dong Jun Tian elaborated at length, with the essence being to play to our strengths and correct our weaknesses.

After the meeting, Dong Jun Tian specifically told Yao Shi to use this incident as a wake-up call for everyone in the kitchen as a cautionary example.

So after Dong Jun Tian left, Yao Shi gathered everyone in the kitchen again for a short meeting.

He briefly reiterated what Dong Jun Tian had emphasized.

Everyone listened attentively, knowing Yao Shi always cut to the chase in meetings and never dragged things out.

Yao Yihang, who had been anxious, finally felt at ease.

He thought to himself, I’m discreet in handling matters, so no one would discover anything.

In particular, he hadn’t done much, just passed on the situation to Jia Rundong, which seemed like a normal thing to do.

But just as he was relaxing and reassuring himself, Yao Shi suddenly said, ”Similarly, there’s something I think needs to be emphasized again! So that some people don’t turn a deaf ear to my words!”

With those words, the atmosphere at the scene immediately changed.

Everyone exchanged glances, not knowing who that statement was directed at.

Yao Yihang instinctively looked up at Yao Shi, and their eyes met.

Yao Yihang’s heart skipped a beat, and his gaze awkwardly wavered.

”As managers of the kitchen, regardless of how the front hall is constrained and regulated, I have only two requests for you.”

”First, work diligently, do your own job well, and don’t let one person’s slack pull down the whole team, causing everyone to suffer along with you.”

”Second, be united. No matter how you are in private, at least externally, you should be helping each other and united as one.”

”However, I’ve noticed there’s someone who can’t tell inside from outside, who favors outsiders over their colleagues, and deliberately slanders and schemes against their peers. Such behavior is shameful!”

”We are a team, if during work we can’t focus on our own tasks and have to constantly guard against manipulative colleagues, how can we get the work done?”

”I hope that besides being dedicated to your jobs, you can also maintain harmony. I’m not asking for familial ties, but at least mutual assistance and respect.”

Everyone remained silent.

This... the words seemed off!

And at that moment, Yao Shi suddenly glanced at Yao Yihang and asked, ”Yao Yihang, do you agree?”

Yao Yihang shuddered and hurriedly straightened up, ”Chef Yao... I...”

Yao Shi stared directly at Yao Yihang, with a serious expression and piercing eyes.

Already feeling guilty, Yao Yihang was now also anxious, suddenly called out by name, he became flustered and couldn’t withstand Yao Shi’s presence.

Before anything could happen, he had already lost his composure, and had no choice but to respond courageously, ”Yes!”

Yao Shi shifted his gaze away, not looking at him anymore, then said to everyone, ”Alright, since no one has any objections, such things must be thoroughly eradicated from now on. No more occurrences among you! Meeting adjourned!”

The people who hadn’t even voiced anything: ”!”

Yao Yihang was completely dumbfounded...

He had initially thought that the issue could remain under wraps and eventually blow over.

But now with Yao Shi naming him in front of everyone, how could anybody not know what’s going on?

Yao Yihang instinctively turned to look at Gu Yunwu.

Only to see Gu Yunwu looking back with a gloomy expression.

Yao Yihang felt uneasiness building within.

It’s over!

Gu Yunwu definitely won’t let this slide easily.

How should he smooth this over?

Wait, since Yao Shi already knew and pointed him out at the meeting, he must have informed Gu Yunwu earlier.

What should he do now?

With a heavy heart, Yao Yihang thought hard for a countermeasure while preparing to face Gu Yunwu’s barrage of reprimands as he walked back.

However, upon reaching Gu Yunwu, just as he steadied himself, he heard Gu Yunwu telling Zhang Jiaxin, ”Xiaozhang, from today, you’ll practice cooking with me.”

Zhang Jiaxin: ”!”

He meant to train him to be on the stove.

Zhang Jiaxin was overjoyed!

Yao Yihang felt his heart go cold instantly!

Gu Yunwu was clearly planning to abandon him and turn to support Zhang Jiaxin instead.

Yet he couldn’t find a way to salvage the situation.

For a moment, Yao Yihang felt dejected and perhaps should consider resigning.
